Earlier incarnations of Battle Royale often had buildings (hospitals, warehouses, etc.) where you would be more likely to find equipment. You could also blow them up, if you had the tools. They also made great ambush spots, since multiple players would usually make a beeline for them.
I agree with the above, but make sure tactics and orders still play a part. Trying to find a counter to your opponents possible strategies is half the fun.Plus I love coming up with fun ways to turn all the stuff I find into weaponry.
and of course I love obsessively creating a battle strategy I think is right for the occasion.
