    Well this speaks for itself.

A: You have before said something very similar Strike, so you should check twice before calling the kettle...um...white.
B: Racist ideas run a lot deeper than you think. Mostly they are just harmless beliefs that other races are not bad, but just not as good. It doesn't mean that most people are hateful, simply that many people hold racist ideas to whatever extent. I don't know about you, but in my extremely leftist environment I have noticed the condescending attitudes whites take to other races a lot. Mostly meaning well, but their beliefs often come across as arrogant. Of course though it could not simply be that she has had different experiences and known different people than you, but that because she disagrees with you that she is racist and has not had interaction with normal people. (normal people...you know, the ones Strike knows. All the others must be weirdos)
C: I never claimed to be an expert on Italian Cuisine, but I do know what olive oil is. I would like to know why you chose to make such a ridiculous, unsupported, flatly wrong, but totally dogmatic statement. Is it bigotry?

I just realised upon reading this article, that I am prejudiced towards bigots.

A: ? I know in my early days here I took a pretty hardline on Illegals and I often let some of my emotions get the best of me (at 15-16 years old) but even then you couldn't call those posts "racist"

B: Racism is dragging a man behind a truck or hanging him from a tree. I really don't know what you're going on about with another one of your leftist diatrabes but real racism is fast fading in this country and is way overhyped in the media.

C: Tribesman already gave you the run along in the Hardees V Macdonald thread. Hint: It's the oily thing you dip your bread in.
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford

My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.

A-B: As you well know, there are many, many definitions of racism. I had assumed that since we were talking about Ann's use of the word we were going by the definition that she uses in her articles. Otherwise I do not even see why we bother having this conversation if we are going to use our own definitions to argue moot points. Have you ever measure racism scientifically? No? Neither have I! (guess that we do have something in common. You know what that means? We each have only our own, quite different, experiences to go on. So why do you insult me because my experiences have been different than yours? Not your opinion, so it must be wrong? What is the point of arguing then. Why don't we just build our own little fortresses and defend our sacred beliefs with our lives?! Thanks anyway, but I prefer to have rational debate and agree to disagree.

C: Here is a good example of you doing something that you would call me a bigoted moron for. Maybe you should form your own opinions of my posts instead of taking them from Tribesman. Sure, it was mostly olive oil (something I obviously knew), but calling it 'olive oil' is about as smart as calling a loaf of bread flour!! (or a bowl of dip 'sour cream') Of course someone knows there is flour in bread, but that doesn't mean that they know the name of the bread or what else is in it. You are ignoring something called "all the other ingredients"!! All the spices and crap floating in it and mixed in with it. Olive oil is only one part of it. Pardon me as I go ride my alternator to town. Got any more examples of my stupidity? I would love to hear them too.

I guess that's why we generally recommend to make more meaningful opening posts - instead of just linking to an article.

Helps to get an actual content-driven debate started intstaed of another thread that just eveolves around cheap shots and personal attacks.
