Biology: Chapter 2 of the "I hate 10th grade!" saga!!!
in this episode, we have a weird test where the teachers comments are unclear and the book is overcomplicated!
Let's see who the hero in this issue is!

I am an Unstoppable Force, an Immovable Object
Do you have the correct answers?
What it looks like to me is:
TTYY X ttyy
tall, tall, yellow seed, yellow seedTTYY tall, short, yellow seed, yellow seedTtYY short, short, yellow seed, yellow seedttYY
You should have the idea by now
T is tall plant
t is short plant
Y is yellow seed
y is green seed
You either name what it is or write the letters, that’s all.

What is there not to understand? One plant genes are all dominant, and the other's are all recessive.

This is hilarious. That question reminds me of the horrors of 9th grade honors biology back in the day. Apparently they changed very little curriculum wise. I still hate my teacher for making us memorize the entire periodic table of elements.
Oh, it has changed since I was in school.
We didn’t have a periodic table...there were only four.
The pope was Stephen IV and Carolus Magnus was king of the Franks.

They made you memorize it? For what purpose? Ach, Amis....

One might wonder if the problem could be in the user, or the manual
I do however agree that it is a stupid way of learning... very... robotic in a way... Reminds me of the math sheets when I was eight or so, rather than anything you would find at your supposed level.
My advice would be to switch your brain off and just follow instructions as they are clearly given...
I believe you are over-analyzing it.
EDIT: I didn't mean to sound insulting. However, examples such as the above is usually found in books for people 7-9 years. A typical example of "read the text that explains everything in a clear way, then roboticly repeat without having to think at all". I mean, if you already proved you get what TTyy is, then why should you have to prove you also get what ttYY is?
Your post is a perfect example of why one should never let schooling get in the way of education. I would slap your teacher for thinking you are all idiots.
So, stop over-thinking it, and just mindlessly follow the instructions. Or try and switch to a better school.

An online Punnett Square Calculator
If crossing a pure Dominant with a pure recessive, you will get 16 counts of TtYy and none of the other Genotypes.
And I believe that makes 16 counts of Tall yellow seeds (phenotypes).
But then again I had biology last in 1989.

I remember doing a monster Square with 4 alleles per parent last year.![]()
PI asked for help and there aren't any dumb questions. He is struggling with something you obviously deems idiotic not to master. As an instructor, you don't blast someone because they have problems with a left turn. You show them how to - or explain how it should be done.

Sigurd, I wasnt flaming the pupil, but the educational method...
look at the chart again, about 2/3 in, underneath "genotypes of offspring"...
9 questions... no?
However, if you got 3 of them right, you probably will get the rest right too...
And then it follows up with the same question (phenotypes of offspring), albeit in a different form... still, the same principle remains...
So, typical example of idiotic assignment for the less gifted people in our society.
The OP however is NOT less gifted. Just the fact that he is on these boards says otherwise... Also, I have read other posts from him showing he clearly is not stupid.
Thus, he is overthinking it. Or, he underestimates his own abilities, or overestimates the education program. Or maybe he is a casualty in a very ill working educational programe...
In any case, i do not mean anything bad what so ever towards the OP. It is the educational system behind the task I seriosly question...
Sometimes you have to wonder if it is the pupil or the system who is stupid. In this case i have no doubt, it's def the system.
And three times is the charm.

- Wash your hands before you eat.
- Flush.
- Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you.
- Live a balanced life--learn some and think some and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work every day some.

- Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the Styrofoam cup: The roots go down and the plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but we are all like that.
- Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the Styrofoam cup--they all die. So do we.
- And then remember the Dick-and-Jane books and the first word you learned--the biggest word of all--LOOK.

Didn't take biology, and, looking back at this craaaazy stuff, I believe I made the right choice.
You took economics instead...
GO PRICE DEMAND ELASTICITY, GO!
hell yeah you did!
and guys, lets not flame someone for flaming; it is hypocrisy. and i forgive him anyway; mostly for this sentence:
i have a soft spot for ego-feeding compliments :DAlso, I have read other posts from him showing he clearly is not stupid.

I guess we can't all be ski instructors.
PI this stuff was hard for me to. Just make sure you don't fall behind
There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
"You must know, then, that there are two methods of fight, the one by law, the other by force: the first method is that of men, the second of beasts; but as the first method is often insufficient, one must have recourse to the second. It is therefore necessary for a prince to know well how to use both the beast and the man.
