Ah well I have had enough time to prepare, its time to make it official.
I, King Felipe the Third, Declare that Spain is to wage war on the kingdom of france untill thier armies are quelled and thier government conceeds defeat or is otherwise subdued.
Being better than the worst does not inherently make you good. But being better than the rest lets you brag.

Two things...
Firstly, You don't have to use one of your orders for upgrades.
Just mention that you want to "upgrade your barracks" below your orders.
Secondly, I must explain sieges.
1) You need siege artillery before you can siege or attack fort/city.
2) You must use "Bombard fort/city" command
3) After that you can attack settlement.
Strength of the Fort is 5 and strength of the city is 2.
Siege battles are fought on these maps:

Green shows the location of settlement cannons(their strength) that "Bombard" command destroys.
Although cities have larger green areas this only shows the breach in the wall that "Bombard" command creates.
As you can see it's much easier to defend forts than cities.
Players should remember that their troops will be under enemy artillery fire from the start of the battle and the fewer those cannons they have the easier it's to capture the settlement.
You can also just siege enemy fort/city by mentioning that when you send your orders.
Players can't recruit anything from sieged settlements(add units into it's garrison).

Sweden Declares war on Spain, any Spanish shipping can and will be seized by the Swedish Navy.

Not realy, seeing as sweeden can do "sweet fanny adams" to me right now, and anything they do later will stretch thier forces too far to fight off any invasion by russia or denmark.

If anyone remembers a Turkish army on jihad against France storming the beaches of Normandy after arriving from the North Sea by way of the Baltic sea, that's a signature Askthepizzaguy maneuver. I recommend we see some of that. The only problem is everyone can see your movements.
Such a shame. I was going to invade Russia by sending an invasion force west. It would have taken a long time, but they would not have seen it coming.

No, I dont think I am going to get involved in this little war.got better things to do. Sorry. Although..... if the two of you were to bid on rights to the English channel I would not be able to turn down a good deal.
(sorry Sweden, you are the ones who did not want to ally. I have little diplomatic contact with either of you. which makes this a perfect situation for me.)

To do that he'd have to fight off my navy on my turf (Millitarily suicidal) or attack the ports of my trading partners (Political Suicide).

I created "The Thirty Years War" social group for the players.
I hope this keeps spam like posts away from this thread. Also, I'll try to post a FAQ there soon.. just to make it much easier for you to play the game.

well ive missed quite a bit. France if you inherit those lands dont expect a friendly neighbor to your north.
