Females & captured warriors

In Rome Total War, a large portion of soldiers are captured during battle. I have always found that result to be far more realistic than the 80% + casualty rates that result from the majority of the battles in RTW. Will the team be making use of the ransom option from MTWII? I can recall only a few instances where Roman consuls were captured (they usually fell on there sword before it would happen), but I think it would be great for gameplay if capturing an opposing faction leader would trigger a triumph.

How are female characters going to be used? They obviously cannot be used for diplomacy as in MTWII, and marriages between Romans and non romans was not recognized...are you just going to get rid of them?

1st question:
I guess they will leave it? I dunno why they would remove the option.

2) Read the Faq. The princesses will be used in a different way

Well, perhaps a bit of cost tweaks that made ransoming more exspensive, or the reverse (cheaper ransom values) ?

Not terribly, AFAIK. Selling the POWs to slavery was probably much more readily profitable, as most of them cannot have had the kinds of connections and background needed to scrape together a decent ransom payment (or were an important enough resource to their masters to be worth ransoming with their money).
OTOH, didn't at least Hannibal end up with quite a bit of ex-Roman infantry ?

This is purely wishful thinking, but it would be nice to have an Enslave Prisoners option after battles either in place of, or in addition to, Ransom Prisoners. Perhaps ransoming would only be an option for generals & family members. I'm sure that it's impossible to mod the game in this way, however.

Yes it was popular from even before antiquity, I know that at least in the hellenistic period there was a standard ransom per soldier, it was 2 D. forgot the exact currency name though.
