This is a personal appeal from the Save the Orgahs chairman and founder, Askthepizzaguy
Hey, pimps with cap guns are allowed to drink coffee. What's it to you?
Tens of thousands of people have joined our wonderful .org community. Some are doctors, some are lawyers, and some flip burgers at McDonald's. Some don't even have a job. But all are welcome here. Each year, dozens, or perhaps hundreds of Orgahs are banned. Some are temporary bans, and some are unfortunately, banned forever. While the population of the Orgahs continues to increase, and there is no imminent danger of extinction, now is the time of the year where we at Save the Orgahs encourage everyone to think of those less fortunate.
Remember that banning often occurs when a member has posted content that is obscene, vulgar, sexually-orientated, hateful, threatening, or otherwise in violation of the law. Repeated breakage of forum rules for more minor offenses can result in a banning due to warning point accumulation, and these are usually temporary in nature. But remember, a banning could strike you at any time, and in any sub-forum. As we speak, entire legions of moderators patrol the .org with a watchful eye and an iron resolve, maintaining an almost ominous presence. While these strange beings are very friendly, and often with a great sense of humor, these moderators are NOT to be trifled with! They can and will exercise their Tosa-given rights to ban anyone they please on a whim***.One might suspect that these demigods are somehow malevolent, seeing as how they could strike any of us down with a bolt of lightning at any given moment, but you'll notice (as have I) that they usually and mercifully allow us to go about our business. Occasionally, they come down from their puffy white clouds and flaming war chariots to engage us in idle conversation, or compete in our mortal games (probably just to humor us and put us at ease). Sometimes they even let us win, for pity's sake. But every Orgah knows of their great and terrifying power. These beings rarely demand blood sacrifice, and so in some ways they are merciful overlords. It seems they merely prohibit uncivil and disruptive behavior, in their judgment. While we mortals may not always agree with their judgments, we note that this is hardly a democracy; we are puny weaklings to be obliterated without prior notice if we step too far out of line. Clearly they are in control and they dispense their will to us, without a trial by jury, or any other rights. We are guests in their ethereal realm, to be cast out the door with the tap of a finger, and I for one wouldn't have it any other way! (he says, as another mortal off in the distance gets instagibbed with a lightning bolt) Ha ha ha ha....Spoiler Alert, click show to read:Oh, I couldn't be more at ease. Honestly!
But with our limited power as mortals, YES, WE CAN help lessen the amount of blood-splattered carcasses that litter our fair hills and meadows, adorn the rooftops of our buildings, and sometimes get neatly stacked in a corner so we can walk down the street. (Praise Tosa!) While turning back the awesome power of the mods is beyond our earthly grasp, we can do something to save as many of our fellow Orgahs from their terrible, terrible wrath as possible. Try to remember these simple tips:
1. Be kind to your fellow Orgah.
2. Be kind to the Moderators.
3. When you feel yourself getting angry, please take a break.
4. You don't get an award if you convince someone else of your viewpoint; you'll probably never convince them with an angry post, anyway. Isn't it enough to be right?
5. Be mature and don't post objectionable content.
6. Read the forum rules; following them could help.
7. Act like you're a guest at someone's grandmother's house.
8. Bring cookies.
If you remember these eight simple things, you should do quite well. We are still trying to reach out to the creators of the spam-bots and those who try to hack into our community, and convince them with words that it just... isn't cool, man! But those efforts have so far failed. Probably because makers of spam-bots and those who hack into people's websites are all a bunch of......(One long string ofcensor daisies later) ....And I feel better now.
So remember, in this time of year when we try our best to think of others, think of all of those who have tried to follow the forum rules and, for one reason or another, have failed. Your outreach and support, perhaps extensive rehabilitation, but most importantly, their own good behavior, might be able to bring some of the less permanently banned Orgahs back from the netherworld. But there are some Orgahs out there who have been truly lost forever. Support the Save the Orgahs movement today, and help spare your fellow Orgah, and perhaps even yourself, from the terrible wrath of the mod-gods. If we all pull together in these trying times, we may be able to keep our community somewhat free of burnt bodies and craters where your fellow Orgahs once stood. Finally, take care of yourselves, and each other.
Sincerely,
Askthepizzaguy
