I'm not sure why but i just started laughing when you said paragraphs are intimidating. You must be joking.

Reading a long paragraph in a book and reading a long paragraph on a computer screen are two very different things.

Reading on a screen is visually harder than reading a book. So shorter paragraphs are better, online.
