Why would CDF seem so enthusiastic for you to reveal that the innocent in question wasn't him? That incriminates him.

CDF didn't know who I investigated until I publicly announced it, given that I told everyone it was a confirmed innocence I received, he must have known (even with his enthusiasm) that there was roughly only a 1/5 chance of it being him (and I thought athelotes much more suspicious, hence the investigation). I wouldn't have concluded CDF is mafia, but if beefy truly must be innocent (not that I think he definitely is, same thing as me I guess) then I guess those 2 seem like the ones to go for.

See, when 2 people claim in a game like this to have more than a basic townie role, and there is someone in the audience watching this happen, and they have a power role... their not saying anything is a bad move on the first round. But it is absolutely incriminating on the second round. This is the final lynch of the game if we miss. So by not saying they have a pro-town role, they have sealed their claim as being a basic townie. But we know there is only one basic townie left. So our liars are among the basic townie claims, not among the pro-town role claimants.

Now, the only other option I see is that Thermal Mercury has an incompetent detective role. Which means that atheotes is guilty, and one of the two remaining are innocent.

However, the problem with that is that having 2 mafiosi on the same team in a game with 7 players is a very large advantage. The game is literally on the line with this lynch. Having an incompetent detective role means that we still have only a 2/3 chance of lynching a mafia today.

There's a chance he has such a role, but I wouldn't bet on it. It wouldn't change our situation either, we still have to lynch either Subotan or CDF, as the odds of their guilt are either 1:1 or 1:2, unlike everyone else in the game.

It can't be TM *and* Beefy, because no one has claimed power role other than them, and for Diamondeye to make a no power-role game after saying the whole point of this series was to explore power roles would be kinda rude. ATPG is convinced that the wording of the rules indicates two power roles and exactly two power roles. I think that's a bit of a thin thread to hang a do-or-die lynch on. As far as I'm concerned, both claimed power roles have been flaky, and I don't think I'll ever really understand you .org-ers if you are both Town.

Beefy -- claims Bomb, hence ensuring he'll never take out Mafia. ATPG says Beefy does weird things, well OK.
Thermal Mercury -- soft-claims power role, unaccountably does NOT get killed, then comes in today first doing a fake-out double-vote on Subotan and then claiming he's investigated atheotes as innocent. This despite Diamondeye saying he wanted to get away from doc+cop. So bomb+cop instead? Or just bomb?

CDF -- cold as ice if he's Mafia.
Subotan -- where are you ..... Showed up conspicuously late yesterday to switch from Thermal Mercury to atheotes after the former's partial claim.
Atheotes -- voted me, along with Beefy and ATPG. Lynched 100% by Town? That'd suck.

I will admit I was a bit of an idiot for at an instance trying to double vote against someone, it was just to reinforce that I wanted to lynch him.

No one has specifically asked for my role so I guess it can be seen as a soft claim. Would you like more information on it? As for not getting killed, well Its out of my hands, Beefy also confessed to some strange role one way or another, yet it was ATPG who was killed. I think everyones active enough to know exactly what there doing. At least someone is trying to question my errors and I have made a few. It's your judgment and keeping an open mind never hurt, too much.

Whilst you have picked up on quite a few points, weighing up ATPG's points (it is likely there are 2 power roles) I'm happy to go with process of elimination.

This first game will be based on the standard C9-setup, but instead of the two traditional roles of doctor and cop, I will be using some more exotic roles. There are two mafia.

Indicates at least two "exotic" pro-town roles. Beefy's claimed role qualifies, and Thermal being an incompetent detective would account for the other.

Two mafia. Two pro-town roles. No one else has claimed, that makes 3 basics, two of which are already dead. Seems clear-cut to me. However, Thermal's detective claim is dubious in that detectives are a very common, non-exotic role. So I suggest he is an incompetent detective, that makes it more exotic.

That's perfect, that's either a very believable lie (kudos) or exactly the sort of strange role that would seem to fit in with beefy's crazy role.

I believe Subotan makes an excellent lynch; and it seems that we go for Cultured Drizzt Fan tomorrow instead of atheotes, because I am guessing a slot machine detective has a much better chance of not being incompetent.

Well assuming he doesn't swap them round, then yes. Not exactly sure about accuracy, I think this role would be more ideal on a game with more nights than this one has for sure.

And well, lets just see todays results & go from there CDF.

I'm not mafia. I'm a bomb, the same as Beefy. I kept my mouth shut when Beefy revealed his role and Renata criticised him for it. I know that's hard to believe, but I dropped clues (Just look back through the thread) when I started talking about Beefy perhaps being a bomb that activates only when he is lynched, the same as me. My bomb explodes not when I get night killed, but when I get lynched, and I guess Beefy was the same. That means that, Atheotes is going to die. Which is good because I suspect him of being mafia, along with Thermal Mercury. It makes sense for TM to protect his mate by saying he's an investigator when they're both mafia. There is no cop role, meaning that TM is at least being very very dodgy. CDF could very well be mafia, but given Atheotes' lurking, and TM's defence of him, I think those two are the mafia. I have no idea if we'll make it in time, other townie-who-is-probably-CDF, but I'm taking at least one mafia down with me.

Hey I wasn't going to even say you I found innocent, town wanted to know. If you had a role like your claiming you would of claimed it on say the second round, when ATPG specific told everyone to, which everyone seemed to agree with. It makes sense to me that your making a role up as a poor attempt to save yourself (at least have some originality instead of using beefy's role).

If you are a bomb and you do take athelotes with you, as you say, then your killing an innocent guy, but if you do believe him to be mafia, then maybe its a sacrifice we have to take. Just to show town who is telling the truth.
