Actually, the issue with trusting Ath was not that he wasn't a townie, but that his ability was ambiguous. If a player did nothing during the night, regardless of alignment, he'd have no idea if they were townie or not.

You've recently moved to this town and set up shop, and have already gotten to know some townspeople by heart and are a regularly at the coffee shop. The townspeople are thrilled to have you because of the personal way you handle your cases, and even the mayor has nudged you and hinted that he wants you to run for sheriff.
However, your run of good fortune has been interrupted by the arrival of Doctor Lovell and his fanatical followers. Putting you under house arrest because your protests revealed you to harbor a strong disdain for Lovell's draconian tactics, you have decided to ignore the order regardless and make your own investigation into "Psychic 0" - even at your own peril.

You are a capable investigator and are well versed in self defense. This will hopefully come in handy in your own personal quest to find "Psychic 0" before Lovell harms anymore of the townspeople.

Once per night, you may protect a player. The protected player will be immune to night kills for that night. If you use this ability, you may not use your other night ability during the same night.
Once per night, you may select one player to protect from non night kill abilities. The protected player will be immune to any ability that isn't a night kill for that night. If you use this ability, you may not use your other night ability during the same night.
At anytime, you may offer a person the chance to become your "Apprentice" - if they choose to do so, then from that night on you must now cooperate with them each night, when performing a night action, for 3 nights or suffer a 50% failure rate when attempting a night action. Upon the completion of the third nights action, regardless of success or failure, your "Apprentice" gains all your abilities except this one, and your success rate goes back up to 100% when attempting night actions.

You are Penemue, a physical embodiment of the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. You are space and time, intertwined with both but forever unable to enter the primal, the earthly realm, in your true form, and thus your human shell, which to mortals appears as a wise oldman with a stovepipe, bowler hat, and a fine suit. Your human shells current occupation is as a college professor, to better hide your dark activities...
You have come to this small town on a gamble created by you, inviting Ramiel a servant of Yad-Thaddag along, who happened to also bring Adastriea, a servant of the Old One Mordiggian. Azathoth is awakening, and you even you the all seeing one had not forseen it to happen so early...someone must be manipulating events to this end. Nonetheless, Azathoth must not be awakened, or all that is will not be and all that was shall never have been and all that might be never will be so...

You are capable of near impossible feats in your true form, but, to prevent the agents of Azathoth from interrupting your plans, you have given form to a human who is you and not you, and by being mortal, your abilities are limited...
Once per night, you may attempt to convert one player to your alignment. This ability will work on a player so long as they are not a "psychic". Upon conversion, they become "Outer God Cultists", and their alignment will change to yours. You will not be immediately revealed to them, and may send any communications you wish through me to them. Beware though, both Ramiel and Adastriea will be competing for souls, since none of you could agree on the method in which to stop the followers of Azathoth.
Unlike the others, who would do all the work themselves, you would have the dead aid you. For every 3 dead that you converted, they may take a separate action each night phase and convert a living person to their, and your, alignment.
At anytime, you may enter and discuss freely in the Ghost Council quicktopic. It would be advised that you disguise yourself...not all Ghosts and those present will be friendly...

You are now Nyxius, servant of Nyarlathotep (Cthonic Mafia). To humanity, you appear as you did in life, but with a white fedora and suit upon yourself. Your true form is hidden to all but other psychics and your master, Nyarlathotep and his master, Azathoth - it is that of a mass of sharply armored centipedes, dark as the void itself, twisting and morphing, the whole of your body a great collective unconscious, all bending to your will.
Your mission has changed - you will now remove the ignorant pestilence that is humanity, and replace them with your brethren, the psychics. To this end, you will warp and twist those poor unfortunate human souls who enter your grasp into your servants, overriding any previous allegiance they had, no matter who they were, and insuring that it would never be changed.
You have been gifted with power unimaginable, and your eyes have been opened without a loss of sanity. You feel more alive then you ever did before, even in death, and you are now quite the showman. It is time that you brought this little play to it's close though...

During the night, you may select anyone "Ghost" and twist them into a "Cthonic Monster", who will do your bidding. They retain their vote in the Ghost Council, but may at night rise from the dead or materialize from mist, and will complete the task you will set forth for them - remove those in your way. Each "Cthonic Monster" has a 25% chance to kill or, if you so desire, force the victim into unending madness, forcing them to spew forth the dark bible of Azathoth and allowing you to control their vote during the day.
A Cthonic Monsters chance to induce madness or kill stacks with each other one attempting, so that 2 have a 50% chance, 3 have a 75% chance, and 4 have a 100% chance.
You may speak as much or as little as you wish in the Ghost Council quicktopic. It may be best to appear as if you were a normal ghost as much as possible - you will be sent a cover role soon after this one.
At anytime during the game, you may ask that a PM be sent anonymously to any other player, and will be able to say whatever you wish. You may at anytime send me a PM stating that you wish to appear and in what form or in what way in either the day or night write up, or anothers results PM.
You can, at any time, be resurrected, so long as one person say your name 3 times in 3 separate posts. This can only be done 3 times during the game - upon your third death, you will stay dead. once revived, you will be able to cast a vote like any normal person.
Your win conditions now require you to kill all non-psychic power roles in the game - the other humans are of no consequence, although they may be killed or manipulated as you wish. The psychics may live if you want, but may be more useful to you dead and converted, if you find yourself in a tight position.
