Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

So of course a detective would investigate someone and give vague clues.

Wait, so your role is, as the defendant, to MURDER whoever is framing you?

    That sounds odd.

Nope. Something about beskar struck me though. I chose wrong obviously. All I need to do is kill the tampering witness and then I am in the clear..... Finding him is a different matter althogether. (all I have is night kill, no investigation)

I agree with split. Work with the investigator and things will go a lot quicker in this game. Granted, that assumes we can trust CDF, which I don't. Can anyone else agree that his [CDF] story has some truth to it?

Oh... hey, pal! Secura says that the round's going to be extended to give you guys time to catch the crook out, and allow Methos, AVSM and Centurion1 some time to vote!

Considering the night phase is essentially short because it's "game over", so to speak, I'll be extending this round by six hours, hopefully enough time to engender more discussion and get the rest of the votes in. :3

Also, Cultured Drizzt fan is not the defence attorney, I got the defence attorney in my first results on night one. The defendant also knows my identity because they protected me from last nights attack by Cultured Drizzt fan.

Cultured Drizzt fan is the killer.

Also, I would like to see Centurion1's and AVSM's vote on him, I have reason to believe we need a large voting majority to win.

    End of Day Two

    Listen to this while reading:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Inside Courtroom #2, 15:19pm, 10th December 2013.

An interesting set of witness accounts... I think we may have finally gotten to the bottom of this case. Can you summarise for us, Miss Fey?

    Of course, your Honour:
Firstly we have the account of Dr. Afforme, guest of the DeLaude Hotel and occupier of the closest room to the Statesman's Suite.
He noticed a young gentleman walk past the bellboy at his door, and heard gunshots from the Suite within ten minutes of his wine being delivered; he heard the moment of the Ducall's deaths.
    .
Correct. Our second witness is Miss Roberts, the receptionist of the Hotel; she recalled booking a room for Madame Da Silva and a 'M.M', a young gentleman who kept his identity under wraps.
She assumed he was a musician, correct?

Exactly; she also remarked that she did not see this younger gentleman around when the defendant was arrested by Detective Gumshoe.

She guessed it was publicity reasons, but it is more likely he was trying to avoid being implicated.

Our final witness is Mr. Ballaud, security detail for the DeLaude; he saw both the defendant and the mystery gentleman entering the Hotel earlier in the day

He also spotted Madame Da Silva disposing of the murder weapon during the evening, and spefically noted that she was wearing gloves at the time.

    Thank you, both of you.

I believe it is time to call the defendant, Madame Elizé Da Silva, to the stand.

    Wrapping Up

    Listen to this while reading:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

    Inside Courtroom #2, 15:50pm, 10th December 2013.

Having reviewed both the evidence and the witness testimonies, it has become apparant that we require the truth from the defendant.

    Mr Edgeworth, if you will?

Madame Da Silva... what response do you have to the case thus far?

    *silence*

The time for your silence has passed, Elizé!

I have a question for you, Mr. Edgeworth, if you will?

Why are you working alongside Miss Fey?

This is a court of law, is it not? Your job is to find me guilty, and yet here you are, attempting to prove my innocence?

At first, I would have agreed with you; the evidence pointed towards your guilt, and I was happy with that.

However, as lawyers, our job is merely to find the truth, no matter how painful it may be. I began to have doubts about your guilt, and I believe I was correct.

Fascinating... if I wanted to listen to someone waxing philosophically, I would have read some Nietzsche.

As it stands, however, your witnesses are unreliable and do not compare to the strength of the evidence. I am guilty, and you have lost.

    That is all.

Madame... I believe it was Nietzsche himself who said that only a coward would acknowledge the existence of all being lost in a battle.

This is a court of law, our battleground, and while evidence does stand it's ground, it is witness testimony that truly fights for justice.

    Delightful... are you quite finished?

All this talk is pointless; you may have proven through testimony that I am innocent, but you do not have the true killer to charge instead.

I believe a Guilty verdict is due, wouldn't you agree, your Honour?

I... the defendant is correct. The witness testimonies are substantial, but without the actual perpretrator, I have little choice but to cal-

Only a foolish fool would foolishly slam their gavel before the day is done.

    Miles Edgeworth!

My father thought that you might like to see these files... and there is a scruffy-looking fool waiting outside in the Lobby. He has detained an equally foolish fool by the name of Markus Maroni that requires your immediate attention.

Know this, however; the perfection that is I would not have required such a last minute reprieve!

    F-Franziska!

Markus Maroni is clearly the M.M that signed into the DeLaude with Madame Da Silva!

This trial has been through it all; what appeared to be an open-and-shut at the start has turned into a tangled web of murder and deceit.

I reiterate my statements from the first day; it is such a shame to see a high-class woman in these courts, and this is unlikely to be the last time either; while she may not have pulled the trigger, she did take the role as accomplice and attempt to pervert the course of justice.

On the charge of the murder of the Ducalls, I find the defendant, Madame Elizé Da Silva...

    NOT GUILTY

Thank you for your help, Detective.

Well... actually you owe it to the little lady, pal.

She found the file you needed, led the police to Maroni's home... she's a really scary girl when she's fired up, pal!

With the late arrival of Franziska von Karma, the courts have new information and a new suspect for the murders of the Ducall family; Markus Maroni, de facto leader of the city's largest crime syndicate. While she may have been innocent in killing them, Madame Da Silva's attempts to tamper with evidence and mislead the courts has not been taken lightly, and she will be tried at a later date for these crimes.

Despite the odds and the overwhelming animosity, Mia Fey and Miles Edgeworth have been able to work together to ensure that the State vs. Da Silva trial remained on the true course of justice.

    Congratulations to SplitPersonality and Beskar!

In a trial that was swamped with falsified evidence that stacked heavily against the defendant, the need for the truth was paramount, and you all stepped up to the plate tremendously. Your eyewitness accounts turned the tide of battle and caused the Judge to see reasonable doubt in Madame Da Silva's guilt.

Despite the Maroni crime syndicate attempting to track you down, you have survived to tell the tale of the State vs. Da Silva trial; a return to the peace and quiet of the normality of your everyday lives await.

Congratulations to Centurion1, A Very Super Market and Methos!

I'm not going to post the Role PMs because there's a liklihood that I'd like to use them (albeit modified) in later games. However, the roles (and their abilities) were as follows:

SplitPersonality - Defense Attorney Mia Fey - Protection
Beskar - Prosecutor Miles Edgeworth - Investigation

Cultured Drizzt fan - Madame Elizé Da Silva - Night Kills, Vote Switching

Methos - Lorna Roberts, Hotel Receptionist
Centurion1 - Eric Ballaud, Hotel Security
A Very Super Market - Dr. Paul Afforme, Hotel Guest
Captain Blackadder - Gerard Duquesne, Hotel Bellboy

For my first game... well, I'm not amazingly optimistic about responses, as I felt that the town/lawyers were very, very lucky to win; I had foolishly stacked things against them.

I realised halfway through the game that a N-D-N-D-N structure heavily favoured a mafia victory; coupled with the vote tampering ability, it basically ensured you only had one window of opportunity to catch CDf. CDf actually requested to use the tampering ability in the second day phase that just passed, but it will only work if the votes are not unanimously against the target; with all five people voting against him, CDf's mafia boss couldn't switch votes, whereas this would've been possible had CDf convinced at least one person not to vote for him. I had planned for the ability to be like this from the start, but was unsure if I had stated as such in the Role PM, so had to remind him this morning via PM. Apologies, Drizzty. :<

The process of actually revealing CDf was down to luck in itself; Beskar and Split (the former knew the latter as he investigated on the first evening, unsure about the reverse though) had debated investigating Methos at first, but Beskar expressed interest in Centurion1. Split said that he felt suspicious also, and then Beskar moved onto CDf and sent orders for his investigation. This investigation would have failed had Beskar not suggested himself to Split for protection overnight.

I'd like to make further games, but I've got alot more planning to do in the future. I believe D-N-D-N-D will work better, both in terms of balance between the mafia and the town and in terms of adhering to the narrative of the Phoenix Wright games themselves. I want to write games that people are interested in and actively debate... it can be difficult to do just that in a seven-man game, and I was hoping that the narrative would drive things to that point.

I'm eager to see how you guys felt, both in terms of the narrative side and the game side of it.

Thank you for playing, at any rate. :3

Why so glum. CDF? You would have won the game if you targeted either AVSM, Centurion1 or Methos.

Also, if they didn't join my bandwagon, you would have won as well. In short, it was just plain luck we, the town, actually won.

The game balance was a big issue, as you already mentioned, Secura, but I think you learned any problems from that. As for the write-ups themselves, they worked very good.

Indeed, the rules stated that the game could only last 120 hours total. As happens in the video game series, all trials only last three days total; the Judge automatically calls a verdict should one not be reached through evidence and testimony at that time.

Had the time elapsed and I would've had to end the game, Madame Da Silva would have been declared guilty, as she was meant to be, and CDf would have won that way too.

Being honest, blame Centurion1 for your loss. In a message in Noblesse, he mentioned how you are always his partner and I was wondering about the both of you. Being perfectly honest, I suspected Centurion1 more than you, and Split shared the same feeling.

I decided to investigate you, the idea being "if it isn't CDF, I will say I investigated Centurion1 and lynch him". However, I got the results that you was indeed the one we needed to get rid off.

So ultimately, you can blame Centurion1 for a random comment else where for making me decide to investigate you opposed to him.

You'd fit right in with Phoenix Wright... much of his "early-trial game" is spent bluffing to prolong things to another day whereby he can investigate and get his information straight. Very much a case of saying anything to divert the spotlight away from the defendant.

This case was based upon the final trial of Justice For All (the second PW game), whereby Phoenix has to defend Matt Engarde, an actor charged with murdering a rival actor. It transpires that, while he did not murder the victim himself, he hired an mysterious assassin to do so, which in the game's timeline still counts as murder. Having set-up the assassin with evidence of the murder, Engarde is about to be declared Not Guilty, until the assassin states that should Engarde leave the courts, he will be killed. Brutally so. A choice of going to jail or being murdered...

...which is actually one of only two cases where the verdict is not called by the Judge, but the player themselves. I took this notion and made my own story out of it, setting it in a timeline just before Phoenix became an attorney and opting for Mia and Edgeworth as the opposing lawyers. I even included Franziska saving the day, so to speak, which is exactly what happens in the aforementioned trial.

I'm curious why you considered investigating me? I don't recall having done anything to warrant any suspicion.
