Thread: "Every good Barbarian is a Greek and every Bad Greek a Barbarian" source?

Default "Every good Barbarian is a Greek and every Bad Greek a Barbarian" source?

Does Europa Barbarorum have a source for that particular quote? Sorry to challenge the team as my first question here in months, but this one really I think is in need of a citation, considering I have been unable to find it in Plutarch, Diodorus Sicules, or the internet. I may be looking at the wrong places to find it so mentioning what line and what work Plutarch says Alexander said it could be useful, or failing that pointing me to how you found this line?

Not that I doubt he said that along with many other things he said, but this quote is well one I have never encountered outside of this mod which is why I'm asking about it.

    Here.

I'm no greek expert, but I understand from a few web sources that its from a 3rd century AD text called "Historia Alexandri Magni" which is attributed by some to Callisthenes (although the attribution is not widely accepted as being accurate).

...oh, and the quote itself is attributed to Alexander the Great in a speech he gave to his troops at Opis.

Thank you Urg, and now for a gameplay question, it is 207 BC, why don't the Free Peoples end their turn anymore?
