Well il take your word for it as i dont know her at all. Unvote and Vote: Renata

No, Winston, my ruthlessness is of an entirely different variety than Diamondeye's. He'll tell you himself. He has a history, when Mafia, of going straight and unapologetically for the throat -- the best and strongest of the opposition. I've never done that; it's not how I prefer to operate.

Now that doesn't mean I'm not Mafia. What it does mean is that my vote was not a bad one.

If you haven't actually seen the movie, don't be deterred by the girly-sounding name. It's a well-written tale and it is pretty funny. There's also a lot of death in it, which should tickle your manliness bone.

There's some kissing in it, but you can fast forward through those parts.

Renata is basically correct in her analysis. I'm ruthless enough to murder those players I deem most dangerous in cold blood. I tend to - like Renata - leave players who have not played for a while be, but otherwise I have no scruples. Just look at me killing ATPG (who's really a nice guy) in Noblesse Oblige. And my goal was even to protect the town - but Pizza could be dangerous to me so he had to go.

Kagemusha, I don't see what your vote's there for, though. Pressure? I'm openly admitting (and did so in my last response to Renata as well) that it does look kind of like my style. And I'm okay with the town lynching me if it clears out some other things. But can we please pressure someone else also, so the day isn't lost?

Personally, I think Renata would be the type of person to frame me in this way, but it's too early to do anything but guessing quite at random.

The threat of possibly several people switching their votes onto someone unexpectedly is the only thing that keeps the mafia interested in watching the round unfold after the initial bandwagon turns out to be wrong.

Pigeon-holing ourselves onto one candidate makes manipulating the vote tally easier.

I will personally be switching my vote several dozen times in this game, if necessary.

A bit of misdirection on your part there.

For one thing, I didn't say your vote was bad, or that DE wouldn't do that kind of thing (I know he would).

And for another thing, you are suggesting that you wouldn't do that kind of thing, which is saying that you're not mafia, since the mafia actually did do it.

Actually, that is a pretty good argument ...mainly because in a game like this where there are no power roles or night actions and people can continue to participate in discussions, the kill choices could be random and it would not make a difference.

I understand I tend to do what I just did a lot as mafia, which is lecture about townie-ness. But I assure you, I'm not feeling self-conscious about that anymore, and this emphatic denial is in no way evidence for or against my very real or imagined guilt. In conclusion, I don't know half of you half as well as I should like, and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

No, no, no, you're not going to drag me into a semantic debate on day one of an open vanilla game, it's just no fun.

DE's argument does make sense, both both for and against him. For now, I'll lean Unvote/Vote: Renata.

    Well, that too.

Is Diamondeye lobbying for his cause via IM or do I just have my "kick me, I'm the mafia" sign on right-side up today?

This is exactly what happened to me in Shadow fort. At certain point anything you might say just makes things worse. Unfortunate.

Diamondeye lobbied me earlier, which is why I ask. I'm curious just how invested he is in staying alive.
