Default Australia: Free to change at last?

    http://www.news.com.au/technology/at...-1225843655743

R18+ video games are a step closer to being allowed in Australia following the resignation of South Australian Attorney-General Michael Atkinson.

Mr Atkinson's decision to leave the front bench means he will no longer be in a position to vote on changes to the country's classification system, including the introduction of an R18+ rating for games.
Earlier this year the Federal Government asked for public input on the issue and received around 60,000 submissions. A report is being prepared for the attorneys-general meeting.

It's a step in the right direction. Now, steps towards preventing internet censorship need to be taken.

Made my day when I first saw it.

Now for Conroy to resign in disgrace. Sex scandals can be rather useful... Oh and if you don't want net censorship consider voting Greens next federal election, at least in the Senate. The only party thus far to speak out against the thing, and if they have the balance of power then all the better.

I thought how he said he was more worried about threats from feral gamers than bikie gangs was just hilarious. Yeah, them bikies are as nothing compared to angry gamers!

Bloody Conroy is an idiot, I wonder what he is smoking? Or is he just stupid? Hard to tell unfortunately.

Stupidity is pretty much a prerequisite to be a politician in either of the major parties these days.

A real chance for change? According to Chris, the President and Registration Officer of Gamers 4 Croydon:
New SA Attorney-General is John Rau, a supporter or the R18+ classification for games (and a nice guy, to boot)
    This could well be happening.
