I SAID WIFOM sums it up more nicely.....otherwise you need to think....

Why do you think it was Reenk Roink?

I'm not really familiar with people's playing styles and such yet, hence why I ask.

I don't think so. If Reenk wanted me dead he would just kill me, not necessarily play mind games with me. He never treats me any different from the rest of you, some of whom seem focus on me way too much.

My only other guess if not Pizzaguy or Reenk....would be Beskar for some strange reason...

@Secura:Reenk is a master of chaos....pretty much invented the "Fake-role reveal" and he knows who to target and scapegoat....only Pizzaguy has ever bandwagoned him round one....and for no real reason(good thing he was Mafia that time)

Lately, Reenk has made himself harder to read...I am willing to bet he is mafia only because he is not posting much...(If townie he gets bored and messes around "Chicago Soiree" being the best example)

I have noticed that Reenk has clammed up as mafia several times in the past. However, I am not willing to endure a lecture on the epistemic merit of suspecting him based on past behavior.

Just use Occam's razor on him, it always works.

The following is too generous to Occam's razor (which has a very dubious attribution to the sublime William of Ockham anyway as nicely shown by Thorburn in "The Myth of Occam's Razor" anyway so I shall now refer to it as the 'Dummy Razor'):

Besides, it's one thing to invoke the Dummy Razor in theology or even science, where there is a (ridiculously) weak argument that it may have some pragmatic value, but in the game of Mafia the underlying virtues aren't even correct for the application to begin.

...But coming from you this statement makes sense if 'works' is considered be a relative term...

I meant works as in "works to provoke a lecture"

The paper mostly seems to be arguing that people don't or can't apply the principle (because what fits our view is always seen as simpler). It can be misused certainly. It is easy to come up with a simple theory that is wacky.

But as a "I have to pick now" measure I don't see why you dispute it being useful. It does come up in mafia too from time to time.

    Reenk is busy.

How do I know this? He doesn't send me scans of handwritten love poems via email anymore.

vote: Ibn Khaldun He who points first likely did it. However, I'm not ruling out pizza as a suspect for later rounds. I could easily see him coming up with something like that.

Three posts all game. Then probably Sigurd tomorrow. I think it's about that time of the game it becomes useful to purge a few of the people who don't post.

Secura is being a bit wishy washy now. Don't see why she didn't vote in her long post.

Wifom can be planted to try and frame someone, or you can just toss it out there and see if someone jumps on it and then accuse them yourself. Or let somebody accuse them. But it's tricky because while the second plan is smarter, there's no particular reason to think the mafia chose it.

Other than being the first person to pick something out from the write up, what else is guilty about him? He may have just been making a point and trying to be helpful.

I did read his posts, but didn't think he'd settled on anyone to follow.

This is... rather confusing. I really don't know who to vote for and lack the time required to re-read the thread again. So for now Vote: Abstain

From Friday onwards I will have more time so hopefully I would have formed some sort of an opinion by then.

    I'm always wishy-washy, treacle!

I didn't vote because I'm getting PMs saying that I should read the write-ups a little more, and that they're indicative of who the mafia is; however, that's like giving the average Brit a book written in Japanese and asking them what it says. Some people are telling me it's TinCow, some are saying it's Sigurd... as a newbie here I don't actually have a clue. :<

Having said that, I support Renata's idea to start getting rid of the lurkers; aside of Sigurd and of those still alive; SplitPersonality, Captain Blackadder, woad&fangs and Reenk all have low post counts. Whether this is typical mafia lurking or simple disinterest of playing vanilla, I do not know, but they're of not help to the town either way. I'm curious as to whether or not any of these are on GH's WOG list.

Once GH confirms/refutes that, I will cast my vote. :3

I would still be wary of TinCow, though... he is deliberately washing his own hands of any vote that may later seem scummy. It's allowing him to seem innocent enough without him really contributing anything. Sort of like the way khaan kept starting bandwagons and it took three rounds for you all to lynch him because you thought he was just "setting up random lynches"- and that's not scummy at all.
