    Your reasoning, clear;
You pointed to me as scum...
    why so serious?

Anyways. I am done playing this game for obvious reasons. I salute Secura for sneaking under my radar and apologize to Niklas for thinking wrongly of him all game, and am greatly embarrassed by my own play here. Had there been two scums, this might have been an heroic effort, and the logic did make sense. The two scums would have voted together, and they would have voted me dead if given the choice. It was my own failure for not reading the rules.

Such a shame to give it all to a game, put it all on the line, and be beaten by one who isn't trying.

I still can't believe how you expected me to ever switch to TM, Pizza. What could possibly have been the point of doing so, if I were innocent? Please enlighten me of your thinking there.

If you were guilty was the point. Your resistance to voting TM, if he were your partner, may have been indicative of such.

But it doesn't play out that way because there was only 1 mafia. I realize now why you couldn't fathom my move. I had you and Merc pegged as the 2 scums, so.... if you vote your partner, that's like an instant loss. No mafia really wants to do that, because then it proves that there was either only 1 mafia all along, or I was right on Thermal.

Any scum would be resistant to the move. And you were, so.... confirmation bias, plus misinformation, plus the fact that you and Merc were both sure I was scum and you weren't paying attention to anyone else, and I would never have acted so aggressive and burned so many bridges as mafia. I might have needed your vote in a future round as mafia. Making two out of the other 4 players hate my guts is NOT a mafia move.

That's not what I was saying though. Your whole reasoning was based on a tautology: I wouldn't vote Thermal because I was mafia, and I was mafia because I wouldn't vote Thermal. There is no way an innocent would have made that vote either, so I don't see why me refusing it made me any more suspicious.

Well.... an innocent would realize that any vote is potentially better than lynching oneself. The odds sort of force the move, since you couldn't possibly know Thermal was innocent.

That makes it the valid and pretty much forced move for a townie. In my view.

That's exactly why I voted Market. But there was no way I would vote Thermal, since him not voting for me meant I was sure he was innocent. And since I thought there were two mafia, lynching an innocent would mean loss. Didn't really matter if that innocent was me or Thermal. But I tried to explain that to you, that voting Market would have exactly the same outcome from your point of view, but vastly different from mine. You just didn't see it though.

A fair and correct judgment, but impossible for a townie to know. A mafioso would be dead certain that voting for his ally was suicide there. That certainty when you couldn't have been certain is what made me almost totally convinced you had to be mafia. It is rare that a townie with no information is sure of anything.

And since I thought there were two mafia, lynching an innocent would mean loss. Didn't really matter if that innocent was me or Thermal.
I just wanted to see if you would actually put some distance between you, and you were refusing. In that scenario, all you needed to do if the two of you were mafia was convince any one townie to think me scummy or switch votes. The closeness between you and dead certainty I was mafia when I wasn't made you seem scummy as hell, or simply townies who were going to lose the game and I had no way of convincing you otherwise.

But I tried to explain that to you, that voting Market would have exactly the same outcome from your point of view, but vastly different from mine. You just didn't see it though.
I still don't, frankly. 3 townies must vote as one in a 5 player, 2 mafia setup. Stabbing AVSM in the back was impossible from my perspective.

Hmm, Kay. In light of that development, posting restrictions are abolished.

This was a game I thought up in a few minutes, so it was not as complex as say, Red Herring Mafia. I felt that two scum was too much, given the restrictions on posting which would aid the scum. However, I brought in a hated townie (I.e. Captain Blackadder), in order to make the end game phase a bit easier. Of course, Blackadder died in the first round, which was both surprising and a little bit gamebreaking. I still think that Secura gave a terrific effort given the circumstances though, and I'm embarrassed that the she evidently wasn't having fun in the final round.

I was not expecting this many haikus, at all. Over 600 posts? That's an amazing number for a mini mafia game. I think we'll all agree that this has been a most interesting experience..

    Thanks for playing guys

Many thanks to the game host.

Had I read the rules and game set up properly then I wouldn't have embarrassed myself with so many bad assumptions. I really really did have a fun time trying to accuse and reason out things with such severe posting restrictions.

    That said, a request PLEASE

If you EVER DO ANOTHER GAME LIKE THIS, PLEASE LET ME PUT MORE THAN ONE HAIKU IN EACH POST!!!!

    THIS GAME WAS SPAM CENTRAL!

That's my only complaint. My post count has generally been from non-spam posts, or at least ones that were on-topic. This game, I am ashamed to say I've got like 200 posts that I didn't really have any right to have.

Alright, if Haiku Hegemony ever returns to impose it's iron will upon the gameroom, then multiple haikus will be allowed per post.

Yeah, Blackadder was my foil, my secret weapon to winning the game... he died early on, and it took alot of work to get this far since then. I apologise to Renata and Market... the former was picked at random, the latter was picked out of necessity at the time.

I still think that Secura gave a terrific effort given the circumstances though, and I'm embarrassed that the she evidently wasn't having fun in the final round.
Actually, I was really enjoying it; I got a pang of guilt from Pizza's posts and just admitted it was me; he seemed pretty bummed out, and in all honesty I was surprised to have gotten this far. I wanted to keep Pizza and Niklas alive though, cos their haiku were fun to read. ^_^

NO! In the next Haiku game, you should (or I, I may well host one) impose the restriction that you may not post more than one haiku at a time! The whole point is to restrict communication, so only one haiku per post, and you may never post twice in a row.

... and thank you for hosting, this game was massive fun. I'm glad I took Blackadder down with my shot from the hip.

    After the Haiku
    In my head I continued
    To read 5-7-5

    Splitting sentences,
    Where no natural pause lies,
    Makes for bad Haiku.

    Take this Haiku for
    example, this is a bad
    Haiku, isn't it?

It's alot harder when you're trying to make constructive points without spamming the thread... you will end up posting where there's no natural pauses, it just happens.

    I have it easy,
    As an onlooker, and yet:
    Poetic posts rule.

    Cherry blossom falls.
    Whirling in a frantic dance.
    Carried on the wind.

    Once more you are scum,
    How unfortunate for you.
    I know you hate it.

Next time you are mafia, Secura, if you don't want to do it ask the host to re-randomize the roles, or promise me you will never falter until every last townie is dead.

I promise you on my days of Blitzmastery, if you kill me as mafia I will be both entertained and honored.

I found this very hilarious. ATPG came to me via IM and asked my opinion and I stated it could be that Niklas was also innocent and the mafia was keeping them two butting heads. While I'm not sure if my reasoning was correct, my suggestion that both ATPG and Niklas was innocent was correct!

Given the fact that every single townie apparently didn't read the game setup and the rules, and did not until it was basically too late, this game was hilarious beyond belief.

While I'd like to say that this was the true reason, I actually kept them both alive because I loved reading their haiku!

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?
