Default Best thing you ate today -- The Sequel

Credit goes to Yaseikhaan for reminding me of the original thread. I do believe it's time to revive it....

I myself had largely simple (but tasty) fare today. For lunch, I made myself a couple sandwiches: Pastrami and Marble Jack cheese with Miracle Whip on homemade wheat bread. For supper I had pot roast (complete with carrots & potatoes) prepared in the crock-pot by my roommate. Delicious!

I had spaghetti with venison meatballs for dinner. Was top notch.

I had my blood test this morning and had to fast for the previous 12 hours. Being a diabetic makes this an unpleasant experience as my blood sugar plunges quite low. My reward: a large vanilla cappuccino & egg/sausage breakfast wrap from Tim Hortons.

Like the sound of this :)

I went to a barbeque today but because the weather was so bad we just did everything in the oven, chocolate cake with buttercream was probably todays highlight.

I cooked a pasta dish that has: chicken, beef and an assortment of vegetables mixed together. Added caesar dressing and feta cheese to it and mix. It's num yummy. I added a hot pepper to the veggies and meat as I cooked it before adding the pasta, cheese and dressing. Provided a nice spice.

Made myself a tuna melt today. Tuna with mayo and a bit of spicy brown mustard on a toasted bagel with two slices of American cheese (we were out of cheddar). Still delicious.

Homemade gumbo soup. Not sure how authentic it was compared to what you'd get down in the bayou, but I sure liked it.

Pepper steak, similar to this minus the mushrooms.

Didn't come out exactly as i envisioned, but it still beats anything else I had - even second day.

Other than being a dog or a shoemanufacturer, it is apparently just a ball of batter, which was used to "hush" dogs.

Pretty much, there's a local place here that sells fried cornbread in balls they call Hush Puppies. Quite good with the right sauce to compliment them.

Yes, fried cornmeal batter. I like it with a sweet chili dipping sauce. Looking for a nice quiet doggy acceptable to the parents, Beskar?

Haven't eaten today, but yesterday I had an absolutely fantastic burger from a bar. Far from the best burger I've ever had, but it was surprisingly good and tasty for DC (the burgers really suck around here.) Ate it with a side of deliciously crispy, meaty fries and a Yuengling from the tap.

    SUUUUUUUUUUUSHIIIIIIIIIIIIII

I really wish that stuff wasn't so damn expensive, because it's my biggest weakness. It's not even my favorite food (that would have to be burgers) but I can't resist having some whenever I am offered, especially if it's just a plain tuna or salmon roll. Goddamn, I need to get some right now.
