I have never played multiplayer RTW before (and I consider that a good decision), but considering the game is so old, I imagine most of the people still playing it are people who are insanely good at it. People who have been playing it forever. This is what someone told me before when I asked about what multiplayer was like a few years ago. Chances are you will get maimed no matter what you do. However, being completely and utterly destroyed and humiliated is the best way to learn.
