Many of the 'cheats' (or console commands as I prefer to call them) can't actually be activated through the RomeShell console. The good news, however, is that they can be activated through a script.

Have a read of this Beginner's Guide to Scripting and follow those steps. There's a link as to how to change the date at the bottom of the first post.
