Imperial Total War next... Do you agree?
Hello, CA, friends.
Reading many threads on the forum I see that CA are debating NTW (already mod for MTW, for those who aren't familiar it's napoleonic total war) an American War version or MTW2. Now, rather than being boring and going for MTW2, which is what we already have seen, CA could combine the first two, with many more features, to make Imperial Total War, which would cover a time period from around 1492 (why? Well, the Imperial Age really started with the discovery of the Americas, and there would be an almighty race to get the americas first) to about 1837/1900/something like that (when there weren't really any more colonial wars, or european wars to say the same) It will take place around the entire world, as an ntw version really wouldn't work without colonisation being a very very big part of it. For this to work there should also be naval battles included, as at that time a navy could have probably been considered more important than an army (except in the early or late stages or generally for factions like the Austro-Hungarians or the Ottomans). As it includes the whole world then it would be a big project. There would be many regions etc. (this was done in RoN remember) and maybe the natives could be represented by rebels, some maybe even having their own factions. Events like the American Revolution could take place, to add even more to the joy.
It would take a while, even if it used the RTW engine with a few changes, eg naval battles, but I think it would be worth it. Who is with me?
