Default EB v0.73 (hotfix now available)

    Greetings, Europa Barbarorum fans!

The long-awaited patch is now ready for you to download. We feel that it is significantly more stable than version 0.72, and we appreciate all of your help with finding and stomping bugs.

Of course, this is still a beta version, and bugs will still be present. We have fixed many of the problems, but we still need help, especially with CTD issues.

It is possible that with the new animations included, there may be one or two skeleton issues present. This may cause a problem with CTDs in battles. Someone reported a few, but this may have been due to an entirely different issue, and no other problems were noted. So keep an eye out, and if this does happen, please try to get a list of units involved in the problem battle, so that we may find and fix this quickly. If it does exist we can create a mini-patch quite easily to fix it.

    INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Version 0.73 is a patch, and it requires EB version 0.72 to be working properly before installation. Version 0.72, as you know, needs to be installed on a clean, working version of RTW with the 1.2 patch installed, and with no other mods installed.

Once RTW 1.2, and EB 0.72 are installed, simply run the EB 0.73 install. Version 0.73, like 0.72, is wrapped in an installer which gives an uninstall option; another option with this version is to install the EB shortcut with a "high" priority. We highly recommend this option; it has greatly increased performance in our testing.

    DOWNLOAD LINKS:

    FileFront
    EB FTP
    War Arena

In the near future, we will have appropriate places for you to post problems, suggestions, and so on, for version 0.73. In the meantime, enjoy!

Donations: Please note, we have added a shameless donation button to our downloads page. Any funds donated at this time solely go toward the upkeep and support of our domain, FTP server, and website.

We will explicitly track all donations and if at any time we adjust how the funds will be used, it will apply only to donations from that point forward. Thank you kindly for your support.

(and if you want to donate drugs/pr0n/etc send it to pauldls@hotmail.com, wine/women/song/etc. to bilekbp@hotmail.com; your wacky install team thanks you!)

Changes from 0.72 (this file is also included in the installer):

Yeah, sorry, no way in hell is it savegame compatible. In fact, you should assume that it is not for all our releases.

Very, very few, if any, will be compatible, because of how many different files we change.

    No idea on the formation.

So upcoming graphic patches won't be save-game compatible?

I cannot foresee a time we would ever do a graphics-only patch.

The high priority shortcut seems not to work. Its got that show_err in the target line, is that the problem?

Mine has the same problem. Wierd.

However, I am astounded with the new interface - its beautiful! I really love all the new buttons and icons, much more like MTW, less of the cartoony-ness of RTW, more of that if you will! Now if only you could make the campaign map a little less cartoony...

I was a bit disappointed that the Romans still don't speak latin with the latin mod installed, I assume the Hellenes are still holding on to that language. Ah well...

Otherwise, thumbs-up all round. I thought this patch was simply to fix some bugs and tweak a few settings, I was pleasantly suprised and very happy to see the new interface.
