After appreciating an easier than normal install I decided to start with a quick historical battle, but to my regret my legionnaires looked thus :

Know what might cause this, I play with unit size on huge, could it be related to the formations mod?
EDIT: It is not a static pose, they phase in and out of it often looking normal but returning to this macabre stance when I move the camera about. I´ve also experienced something similar with a unit of cavalry but strangely enough only one unit out of four was affected - on the contrary all legionnaires were equally bugged but seems to be the only type of infantry afflicted by this.

I have a question. How can I disable the CityMod without reinstalling?
I have those files already , but you can start a campaign right now and then remove CityMod

I did forgot to add the legions name when I uploaded the files :sweatdrop:
but the other things in allied legions should be there... like only be able to recruit romans in rome...
you can get the legionary names if you wish though , they are located in the notes section
for the next release I'll do an installer to avoid all this mess of links ... and fix these small errors :sweatdrop:

just download the file (EDU) located in the notes section , if you like to do thing manually (as myself :P) you need to add
legionary name at the end of the atributes (not sure if that's the name but it's the same line that says "can sap , can hide bla bla") of the desired units -allied troops -

There seems to be another issue, L3z. I can't uninstall the Allied Legions even with your "No Allied Legions & No City Mod" file; I would like to go back to Normal Recruitment, of course.

ummm... thats weird... I dont know what that has to do with anything :sweatdrop: , anyways I'm glad that it worked , but just to be sure... I suggest you to enter your export_descr_unit(EDu) and look for "first cohort" and look if somewhere in that block of text there's a "officer, aquila..."
EDIT: Now the RTW.exe version is working as intended :P

Already installed fresh RTW1.5 and EB1.1. As mentioned by Bigmilt did run EB1.1 few turns and updated preferences. then installed Mini Mod.
Check what you wrote in the quota and I don't see any "officer, aquila.." but the files = the file in your .rar. I check it.

umm well those post are waaaaay old :P they are from the first pack (which had some troubles) the ones that are available to download now should be working cause.. well after 150 downloads only you have had the problem :sweatdrop:
did you had the fixes? umm try to download (and use) the RTW backup files , then apply the fixes, and check if it works, if it does then use the desired pack

If you mean if it can run on BI without ANY extras... that could be done easily... but If you wish to add especial bi features... it will take way more time than what I have ...(and well I dont even own Bi :sweatdrop:)

I installed your great mod yesterday but just tried today and there is no legion names .sorry.. :thumbsdown:
I started to paly with alex.exe since today although it is said save game compitable.
it is not.
also your last pack is also.....
anyway, you had a good combination of most familiar mods that ı reaaly become happy to use all of them .
so what is advice to code each unit one by one or to copy paste konny's mod seperately on your mod.

I don't have ALX and I'm using rtw.exe. I downloaded your file and installed the pack. Does that include the legionary name feature or
do I have to add it manually? If so, how?

I would have "fixed" it already but leaving them out -as I did accidentally the first time- makes it easier for me to create "disable this, disable that..." files , and also some don't like the legions name , so I just left them out hehe , Konny's recruitment is still in there though (course...you'll only notice id you're romani >.>)
ALex.exe is NOT savegame compatible ...it will surelly mess up your current games -there's a possibility that this can be SGC ...but I don't have the time , no the will power hehe to do it any volounters?-
EDIT- alex version pack DOESNT mean you have to have alexander EB at all! xD , you dont need to do any coding to get this working with alexander , you don't even need to enter the alexander EB thread , those changes are included in here already, the ONLY thing you need to have is alexander CA -Creative asembly- alexander expansion

Would the be above the "Romani Legionary name etc..." (bullet) or after?
look for this in the NOTES section :sweatdrop:
Romani legions are missing their legionary names, (save-game compatible, only affects if you're playing romani)
below that click on the "show" button and there you should find 2 versions ...one for players without TWFanatic hoplites , and one for the guys who have it... then clic on the "show" button next to the version you have (with or without phalanx mod) and use one of the download links -alex if you're using alex and... rtw if you're using RTW
just download and unpack it in your rtw folder

so I do not mind it so much my problem is coding torture of Alexander EB that you said you have fully adapted it to your mod.
I like night battles also as ı experinced AI is very good with alex (after thay routed my men by encircling oh men AI encircled me at the first time!)

I've got another problem mate :help:
I tried downloading the file in the notes section for Legionary Names. The Alex version downloads ok
but the RTW version doesn't. And I need the RTW version :embarassed:
Everytime I tried to download the RTW version @ LINK://rs11.rapidshare.com/files/127933172/RTW_legion1.rar...
it kept saying ERROR and my IP address is already downloading the file even though I don't :(
Is there anyway you can send me another link where I can download your RTW_legion1.rar file? Can I
use the Alex version eventhough I don't have the alexander?
If all fails, maybe you can just tell me which file/line I need to edit and I'll do it manually.

I'm sorry but.. yes you wont get the aquilifer... (though I got confused when the EB team said they hadn't used all the unit slots, you might want to manually add it -follow the instructions to do so in the phalanx/elephant bla bla thread but don't erase any existing unit to see if it works :beam:)

NOTE: the moddifications in the EDU mentionened in the instructions (in phalanx thread) need to be done in the EDUs located in the SP backup EDU and MP backup EDU otherwise they'll be overwriten hehe

I added the just added the aquilifer and it works!(I use RTW.exe) Unfortunately I don't have a pic because I don't know how to post one...
I also found all the files needed for the aquilifer already inside models_unit, so it just need some changing in the EDU.
EDIT- I didn't remove any units btw

Hey mlc82 did you ever have that problem again where it would crash when you looked at certain places on the map, and did you install the no city mod option file without creating a new map.rwm file. Because I had the same problem until i double checked and realized I hadn't because i was used to the files coming with map.rwm files.
Now I'm not sure if i should use that campaign I started before i realized what was wrong, it still works but will probably have more problems later on I guess.

Uhm... retraining is part of the AI; incidentally a part that was broken in RTW. ALX is supposed to retrain.

Dear Lz3, would you kindly upload some tweaked files to make it possible to use your great mod pack without DS´s 0.7 roman skins, I would be most grateful if ever you get the time.
I have tried myself and it works in SP, at least with the evocatae and centurions, haven´t got imperial reforms yet, but as soon as I try to change the EDU in the MP backup folder I crash when trying to run the MP exe unless I use the SP EDU there instead which is a shame as I cannot check if the imperial legionnaires are back to normal as they should and cannot really stage battles as I would like to.

I don't know if it was ever solved in the original City Mod but vanilla's reform (March of Time) isn't triggered when Rome becomes huge. Playing as Baktria it's a real shame as I'd like to use those lovely Hetairoi Kataphractoi!
Anyway, I'm not sure I like how the roman allied legion part work (I would highly prefer having separate "italic" hastati/princeps/triari units rather than having samnites and bruttians everywhere) but your pack surely is great as it makes very simple to play EB with some of the most important mods! Very good work!

Oh, but I like both the new and the old very much, but having played extensively with both I must swear to the new which I find, although a bit bulky and not made in the exactly same style as most EB units, to be the best looking units in the game, the cohors imperatoria and centurions that is. The quality of their textures look like something from between EB and EB II; their knees, elbows, faces and hands are better made than anything I´ve seen before in any mod of RTW and the same credit can be given to all of their equipment, each piece is beautifully rendered, obviously with the greatest attention to historical accuracy, and their helmets ( the plumes stands out as actually resembling hair for once and the metal looks just gorgeous and very realistic ) and swords especially are, again, the best I´ve ever seen from the RTW engine.

A common bug with the Client Ruler script and therefore not caused by this mini mod, you will find a lot of threads I´m sure by searching for it, else take a look in the bug forum.
A solution to your problem would be to add the trait manually by the console command give_trait "Firstname middlenameLastname" Type4Governor. Then you just have to find the name of your character in the descr_names file in the EB/data folder, be aware that most names can be found in a few variants, for example with a capitalized letter attached.

Ok, question time:
Tried to install it before but ended up putting the wrong files in the wrong folders, so just ended up reinstalling everything. Used this (http://rapidshare.com/files/127647949/Alexander_pack2.rar.html) one since it seemed the most 'complete' version (hard to tell which link is meant for who!). Anywho, copied, pasted everything, changed the command line and when I fired the game up I can see a little 'alexander' in the bottom with a golden x, so I'm assuming that's the correct one, ja? Problem though, I can't start a new campaign: I get a 'please select an item from the list message', and if that wasn't weird enough I can still use save games from my previous EB, even though I uninstalled it and checked the 'delete save games' tab. How can I start a new game if it won't let me?
Also, does the aforementioned pack (the files I pasted over) contain the changes to the command stars/ cursus honorum or are the files simply to make EB compatible with Alexander?

so... to be sure this will work I suggest a "reinstall" , but don't get scared :P just downloaad the backup EB files and install them, then go to the eb 1.1 fixes and donwload the Missing sprites fix
then install again my pack :P

I don't know, the combat animations for my legionaries suddenly got different, more alike the vanilla ones. They swing their gladii instead of staying behind their shields and keep thrusting their swords, as they should; it's a minor problem but a constant and surprising one.

My bad, I was wrong! I had a dosis of suspicion upon it but after running my own tests with unmodded EB I indeed discovered that Camillan units, specifically Camillan Hastati, have different animations from the Polybian gladii armed units which resembles the old vanilla animations more. Thanks for the attention anyway :P.

I will just shortlly comment on the List of used minimods to help out my friend ||Lz3|| in future releases of this ussefull mod.
* AI Battle Formation Mods* - Alxeb uses EB battle formations which are very nice and inteligent and corespond very good with alx engine (all other battle formations are good also)
* Spoils of Victory for EB 1.1; by V.T. Marvin - I dont really know what this mods do :shrug:
* Some trait changes - Due to the engine itself, ALX uses different patterns to give traits and it ussually does not apply the same as in RTW tests, but any trait addons are endless so the team can support some in the future (then again there has not been many changes to trait system since EB 10)
* Win Conditions - They are not needed in alxeb coz they do not count the game reallity in the new world - so some conditions might be very funny (explanation: Geostrategical map is a new realm in the mod so win conditions of vanilla are not needed)
* Roman Allied Legions - those are nice they could be implemented but the mod has First Cohorts and balanced military system for Romani so they are optional.
* City mod version - Alxeb has its own Size Limits for various reasons and is much more deep concerning many more regions and potential Huge settlements (for example every capital at the start can be huge, also some Strategic small Settlements can be huge also - like Byzantium)
* Fanatic’s First Cohort/Phalanx/Elephant/Chariot minimod; alxeb wont be using this mod coz it is not compatible with the EDU system.
* Aquilifer unit - optional

I've already started my Romani campaign, but it's progress is still not very advanced... so if the minimod pack is updated quite soon, I'll be able to restart my campaign on the latest build...
Does this still work properly with EB Alex? I saw some mention of things included not being compatible with Alex (in the Alex EB mod thread), just wondering as I much prefer just dropping in your mod pack than trying to edit things in the text files and using wrecking my EB installation.
Also, is TWFanatic's hoplite mod still compatible with EB Alex?

I did a little changes to Your pack and when I saw the latest build I thought about changing the minimod pack... yet in my case is the same problem - lack of time...
Thus I think I'll wait until the latest minimod pock (build 1.2) is released... maybe until then I'll play something else (well, I have unfinished Imperial campaign in SW:EAW:FOC - Ultimate Empireat War... so I'll smash the rest of rebel scum...)

Hey, Lz3, I suggest omit the CityMod for now and add only the TW hoplite mod - this is much easier to do (and less time-consuming).
Of course I don't mean to prevent You from breathing - this could be extremely dangerous and would mean a very probable loss of a very well-known and renowned member of EB-fan-community :D

About the legio thing... I think that's due to the map.rwm, but in theory it should work... emm do you know how to regenerate it?

2-erase map.rwm in EB/Data/world/maps/base/map.rwm
3-Start a new campaign
4-go to EB/Data/world/maps/base/map.rwm and copy map.rwm
5-paste map.rwm in EB/sp game edu backup/

No - when I try to make the changes in those .txt files, the game stops working and fails to load properly. I suspect that's because I'm just making the edits in notepad, but I'm no expert.

Google for Notepad++, install it and edit the files using it. See if it works.
Doubt it... it should make no diference... as far as I know... I haven't ever modded scripts with notepad though...

Hmm...I can make all the changes but one: in data/export_descr_advice.txt a line under 2085B_UI_Panel_Diplomacy_Help_Trigger should read AdviceThread Help_UI_Panel_Diplomacy_Early_Advice_Thread 0. But export_descr_advice.txt says at the top not to modify that file directly, but rather use the 'Spreadsheet Advice.xls' and re-export it.
I don't seem to have this file, however. (I do have something called 'advice' in the preferences folder, but I don't have a program to support whatever format it is in).
Right, ignore that lot.

Just tested: FD works all right with the recommendations Lz3 provided on the link, had no problems with map.rwm or anything else. All edits done with Notepad++.

Just went through the Sweboz and Arverni campaigns, detected nothing weird or outside the normal with the names.
Notepad++ is officially recommended by some modders precisely because it is more unicode friendly than plain old notepad, and indeed it is far better on every aspect.
So don't be affraid of using it instead.

I learnt/ed it the hard way... I used to though Notepad++ was alright to mod the files in the text folder. However, it seems that when you open the file it automatically changes the coding. That makes some characters appear as "?"... especially in the sweboz vicory conditions trait

So in fact you mean USE anything BUT windows notepad to mod anything in the text folder. Yeah it does screw up things big time :smash:.
Anyway I'm grateful. Just reinstalled everything and added ALEX-EB now that things are ready, and it's working all perfectly fine! Shouldn't be a beta anymore, except for that unhappy FD detail.
I'm too lazy to reupload it... hehe if someone wants to upload the modded file and upload it (only the one needed to get FD working) I'll add it to the main post
The beta is mostly for the SGC.... I'm not sure about that
Curious,
Installed the minimod but my "descr_win_conditions.txt" is empty. Checked the .rar file and the "descr_win_conditions.txt" in the mod is also empty. Does this mean Win Conditions mod is not implemented? (I used the RTW.exe version). I double checked and re-downloaded the RTW_pack3.rar with the same result. Also the game now crashes and shows the Alex version of the splash screen so I think there is still a problem there.

3. What about Force Diplomacy? The 'bug' prevents it from using, and if the "mod pack" is to be complete, fixing the bug is necessary for it... I only hope You'll get more time to reupload the pack with the FD fixed (and maybe phalanx mod too).
Anyway, thanks for your work - due to my current lack of time I'll anyway have to wait until the nextr weekend to download and install the 1.2 pack... yet I think I'll have to make a fresh install of my EB - i.e. fresh install of everything, as if I'm messing aorund with the files, I need to have a clean "operating field"...

Um has anyone else noticed that the v5.1 City Mods overwrite the soccii mod im this pack? and vice versa? :embarassed:
They both come with essentially the same folders and files, so unless theyre made to coexist or theres somthing idk about then they can't coexist :shame:

Sly enemies, specially fighting Barbarians in the woods (I'm a proud Roman) is exciting! They really managed to stage a flanking maneuver and attacked me in the spot that was the furthest from my reinforcements. No more idiotic frontal Banzai charges.
Conquering the European East is a real challenge: Getai and their rebel counterparts are real tough bones to snap, and their elite units fight to the death without wavering...
The new recruited general situation allows for even more role-playing...
overall, the mod pack gives the game a totally fresh feeling, I find playing EB 1.2 a very satifying experience: well-balanced, great graphics and a myriad of decisions to be taken

I purchased the Alexander expansion two years ago when it came out and played it a little. Now when I try to reinstall it, it askes for a password code and will not start. Any ideas on how to get it to work?
And since I'm asking, do I understand it correctly that the point of the Alex.exe is that it is the last and best version of the RTW engine out of CA?

Hi all, I have downloaded this mod and it seems to have worked to a point because I tried using the "multiplayer part" of to Trivival script, and I had a general, not captain. Also when I start the game, while its loading there is a little sign with "Alexander" below where is says "Europa Barbarorum"... but when I tested it I could not use night battles.
I run on Rtw.exe, made sure I have all the updates, I have EB under C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\EB Is that where it belongs? I also have another folder entitled C:\Program Files\Activision\Rome - Total War\EB\EB lol... I've never really had a look at this stuff.. but I'm quite confused as to if I can USE the alxander part of this mod because im on rtw.exe, if I extracted this mod in the wrong area (I did it under Activision as told to do), or if I have EB in the wrong area to begin with.. (I remember when I first downloaded EB it said I shouldn't download it under RTW but I had no choice as it wouldn't let me put it anywhere else...
So, if you all understand my situation... any ideas? it seems like this mod is working, except the alexander part.. which is the main reason I wanted it =]

is the Citymod and Fanatic’s First Cohort/Phalanx/Elephant/Chariot save game compatible
couse i started a romani campaign with this pack and i'm already bulldozing everyone =\

I think CityMod isn't. It won't corrupt your current savegame and make you CTD or anything like that but it doesn't take effect unless you start a new campaign.:no:

OK. That's no problem, I'll only have to prepare some of my own add-ons to Your mod-pack, yet as most of these changes I prepared for version 1.1, I think I'll have no problems with adding them...
just have to make a clean install of EB 1.1. and 1.2 to prepare for this newest ModPack 1.2 release...
BTW: please bear in mind that it would be veeery nice to prepare both version WITH CityMod and WITHOUT that - I really like other mods, yet the CityMod is not something I like too much... (previous version was for me very good!)

I commented out the "officer eagle" lines for the 'roman infantry first legionary cohort i' and 'roman infantry first legionary cohort ii' in the EDU.txt file and the game seemed to load/work normalyl after that.
I am afraid though that I may have either broken something which will only bite me later or that there is something else that I have missed!

I commented out the "officer eagle" lines for the 'roman infantry first legionary cohort i' and 'roman infantry first legionary cohort ii' in the EDU.txt file and the game seemed to load/work normalyl after that.
I am afraid though that I may have either broken something which will only bite me later or that there is something else that I have missed!

i have tried installing the mod pack the recent version RTW_pack3.exe into the rome total file directory
not into eb or into eb data but into the first file rome total war. I have recieved errors and the game won't even work. If there is a way to get just darth's mod life would be great again.

You disabled the EB trivial script... <.< :wall:
You need to re-enable the trivial script to make it work, (you need it anyways to get the full EB experience)., Try to search for your original EB shortcuts, if that doesn't work edit your target line so it looks like
"C:\Program Files\EBTrivialScript\EBTrivialScript.exe" -s ebconfig.xml -runeb -type "Single Player"
If you wish to play Multiplayer, edit the "Single Player" part to "Multi Player".
Alternatelly you could create another shortcut identical to the first one with the diference being the Single and Multi part.
Or... you could just erase the line mentioning officer eagle in the EDU... , however, I don't sugest just doing that, but it's your choice. (You won't get all the units in camapaign, or you won't get factional troops in custom battles.
Seems I need to talk with Maksimus about the trivial script... ¬¬

Well if you start a custom campaign in "Single Player" and you shouldn't be able to recruit factional troops (like legionaries when SPQR), and when you use the Multi Player script you should be able to use them

Well the trivial allows you to play custom battles...
If you don't want to use the trivial just
1-copy the edu in the SP Edu backup folder (located in the EB folder)
2- and paste it in the EB data folder

instead of running your pack i had it install to an empty folder and then copy pasted the stuff where it should have gone
I always run my game with BI by the way and i think the trival scripts don't work with BI because they are not configured with BI?

anyway sorry for all that, i don't know what to say really, things are just working all of a sudden.
I have a couple questions though, since i did it that way instead of running the program and extracting via the installer did everything work right? Is it ok i copy and pasted? In game as the romans, i played tested to see if the new recruitment works and it does... does that mean everything is working? Im assuming so for the sake of my sanity :p
one last question i heard that the unit sizes were incorrect and there was a fix for 1.1
do i need to find that fix and apply it or is 1.2 considered fixed already?
humm well If you did erase everything and then reinstalled EB... I do suggest you to download the sprites fix, then copy&paste/use the installer to get the pack... after that... make the changes so you can use BI.exe MANUALLY
The important thing about the trivial script is...
EB uses 2 EDUs, one for SP and another for MP...
If you play SP with the MP EDU then you won't be able to recruit all the units you should (example you wouldn't be able to recruit spartans as the KH)
If you play MP with the SP EDU then you won't be able to select your factional troops, (like you wouldn't be able to selec principes or triarii as the SPQR)
Normally people would have to copy&paste the diferent EDUs manually... but since that was rather tiring, the trivial scrip was made, what it does is to swap the EDUs between SP and MP EDUs... (located in the SP EDU backup and MP EDU backup folders)...this is why the trivial script is imortant
In order to "change the target line" what I suggest is to change the trivial script... this is easier done than said.
Just open (right click>notepad, wordpad, whatever) the ebconfig.xml file located in your RTW folder and search for ".exe" without the hypens, then just add whatever you wanted to "add" to the target line.

Hum... about the BI thing.. I doubt it... but it will overwrite all the changes you might have, so you would need to change the "target line" and /or add shieldwalds etc etc

I fixed it, I messed up in the trait file, but one more question, I did the pack and used it and City Mod is not on there. If I install CityMod will that mess up anything?
EDIT: Nevermind I just saw the files that are other mod compatible.
EDIT 2: it modified the regions file but the descr_buildings file is unchanged and thus all cities can still go up to huge.
EDIT 3: Fixed that, the installer created a separate file called "EB" in my EB/Data... folder. I copied and pasted and now its working. Very strange as I don't recall reading that this would happen... maybe I am an idiot and am staying up too late trying to mod EB past midnight.

I found the problem: your EDUs files in the EB/data/ folder and the EB/SP game EDU backup/ folder are not quite the same.
The EDU file in the EB/data/ folder has 2 additional lines and 1 different line.
These additional lines are the "officer roman_eagle" line, twice under unit #524 and #525 (as indicated above in my earlier post), which was causing the problem.
The different line under unit #533 is "voice_type Heavy_1" instead of "voice_type Genreal_1" which is no drama.
I assume that both these EDU files should in fact be identical.
Obviously the EDU file in the EB/mp game EDU backup/ folder is very different to either of the two above.

This is how EB handles EDUs:
3 EDUS:
1- EB data folder (this is the one the game will use)
2-SP EDU backup folder (I think that's the name of the folder. It overwrites any EDU located in the EB data folder when the SP shortcut is used. Be it the same or a different EDU.)
3-MP EDU backup folder (It overwrites whatever EDU is located in the data folder when MP shortcut is used.
In order to have them overwriting automatically you need the trivial script, cause that's what it does.
However if you don't want the trivial just overwrite the one in Data folder with the one in SP or MP according to what you want to play at the moment.
The reason why the RTW pack crashes when the trivial script is off, is that, I did not mod the EDU in data folder, the EDU in the data folder is from the Alex.version, why I did not changed it? well cause I thought at the moment that everyone would be using the trivial, so it would be overwritten anyways with the right EDU.
The problem is... that several people have their Trivial Disabled

Sorry if this has already been answered, but, has anyone found out if there is any way of making this mod work with EB on a BI.exe? I would love to test out the BI.exe but this mod almost makes it impossible for me to leave vanilla .exe. If anyone have any solution as to how one could make this work, please post it!
An alternative is to... make the changes to BI.exe yourself, manually...

By the trivial script does that mean you must press trivial script to play or just "EB single player".
Secondly on vista i am getting the following problem
1 I install EB 1.1
2 Patch to EB 1.2
3 Install Both fixes
4 install the mod pack
5 Start it by using the shortcut EB play single player
6 Get a CTD saying that it can not find the model roman evocate (spelling might be out):oops:
I mean not even getting the menu

Why would you not want the City mod? I can't stand a campaign where every city just just as big as Rome and in some cases has even more people then Rome. But if you really don't want CityMod you can always make backups of the files that CityMod overwrites and change the modded files with your backups.

well i like playing with the casse and in don't like messing with the ebbs script that much(bad experience just by looking around)
and in order to gain the last reform you and your litle buddies the arverni and aedui must have 6 large city's and i with this mod you cant have that unless you invade spain, germany and italy wich isn't my sort of playstyle
the march of time problem was (i heard but not sure?) taken care of by giving another city the hidden italy resource( if you haven't played romani, for some reason the march of time doesn't happen when rome grows huge no mather what is said ive seen it)

I have this problem, ia stay always on guard formation and make fighting very strange.Often i see the units stay in strange positions without fighting at all, and cavalry seems very weak in guard mode. I try to install the shilunet battle formations but i have the same problem. How i can fix that?

But I've got a question for you... I got problems with the SoV mod, I can't understand where's the error that makes the game crash. I'm using the bi.exe, so I have to install it manually using VTMarvin instructions, but the mod is adapted to the 1.1 build, not 1.2. I used Winmerge to compare the text files, but about the CAMPAIGN SCRIPT I'm not sure of what I have to change to make it works.
How did you adapted the SoV for EB 1.1 to the EB 1.2 version??

But I advice you not using difficulty for battle more than medium with alex.exe cos if you choose hard for battle difficulty sieges are nightmare the aı separates fresh reserves and do not attack your men directly as with rtw.exe or BI.exe.
so the morale bonus must be +4 with hard difficulty for battle makes you crazy. my favourite selection was hard/hard and OK with RTW.exe and BI.exe but not with alex.exe. hard or if you like suicidal games very hard diffuculty for campaign but no more than normal for battle if you use alex.exe.
I am happy with your mod man good job but ı think city mod is using RAL mod EDB file and maybe EDU also that deletes RAL mod. As I am happy with RAL no complain.

PS : Be careful with AI reserves they attack you at the peak of battle. You need a fresh reserves too. Ctrl+A and double click the centre of enemy does not work on alex :no:

Nope, i'ts not necessary, it's just that that mod disables the trivial script, so that's what I thought had happened
The trivial script swaps between SP and MP EDUs so you don't have to do it manually.

I wish I had a chance to read your last post before I had to uninstall / install again EB for sweboz fix.
I hope if I install 1.1 then 1.2 EB then, all official fixes after that your 3.1 version mod then your adapted sweboz script, there will be no problem.
If it works like that I ll install your optional mods, namely RS textures and naval strat and phalanx.
Cos I had installed official fixes on your mod before and it killed my game.
Edited: It works great after the procedure I wrote above, but no chance to save my previous save games.
Actually... I think you could save your games... After all there's no changes in any SGC (savegame comp...) files.
Try with a save game, you might be surprised.

I already deleted them, cos this procedures made them tented to CDT.
I am struggling with ancillaries, I think my reinstalling soon, cos adding ancillaries is more comlicated than traits. about to give up; tonight one more try then my fight with ancillaries will be over.
believe me to fight to avoid CTDs after scripting data file is harder than playing EB with VH/VH difficulty :wall:

Yep... its caused by the victory conditions mini mod, you can restore the faction window with the procedure I explained in the Known limitations section

I'd already given up hope to solve this problem without reinstallation (which would be terrible cause I'm just 2 provinces away from the win conditions with the Qart'hadastim and also have a Getai campaign in the 220s thats giong pretty smooth).

What the hell have I done to my installation?
I remember nothing big, I only changed the number of arrows for the nuraghi from 15 to 20 and other rather 'cosmetical' changes.
And I definitly didn't change anything concerning soldier models or officers.
So ... sorry to be pesky again:
Is there something else I can do?
To give you a bit more information - I don't have vanilla EB 1.2, I installed some of the minimods too as I mentioned here (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=2106377&postcount=462).
Note: I didn't install the sweboz fix cause I didn't notice it before installation.
And afterwards I was not sure if it would not mess up my installation. :dizzy2:

make sure those fixes are applied to the EDU in your data folder as well as the one in the sp game backup folder.

Hmmm...
followed your advice and checked the EDU in the sp backup too.
In that EDU I was able to replace the 2 mentioned lines (roman_infantry...) but didn't find any entry "officer roman_eagle".
Strange.
I still get the CTD during game start. No CTD would have surprised me cause I had to edit the EDU in the EB/data folder to get the changes to the unit stats. Seems as if your (to mention it again: fantastic) "EB for BI"-mod relies on that EDU rather than the one in the sp backup folder. So it's unlikely that the game crashes because a wrong entry in an unused EDU...
But after all I'm still somewhat noobish in editing the game. :laugh4:
I seriously think about uninstalling Eb und do a reinstall with less minimods.
Maybe it helps since I always had a rather stable game before I installed all these tiny enhancements. And except for your BI mod, the city mod and the RS textures I don't need any further improvements.
But of course thanks again for your time and helping hand. :2thumbsup:

don't take it personally, I really like the modpack (I mentioned this iirc) but I'm a little bit frustrated to lose 2 good campaigns (in the Qart'hadastim one the Casse even invaded the mainland...) to an persisting CTD. And since I never had these problems when I had only EB vanilla, citymod and EB for BI installed I have come to a decision.
But I will not touch the installation yet, no uninstalling, no reinstalling. I just play Reconquista (that german mod for M2TW... a really fantastic one btw) and calm down a bit.
Maybe when I think about it in one or two weeks again I have changed my mind and make a complete installation again (your modpack included). ~:)

-Correct the triarii recruitment for the allied legions mod
-take out the aquilifer from the main edu in the data folder, since I Thought everyone used the trivial script.

I have no idea on why several people out of 200+ have problems with that... have you ever installed any other mod prior to this one?
Are you making the changes in both Data folder EDU and SP EDU backup folder?

Perhaps i have the solution, in the descr_battle_model some files are not correctly named.
Search for:
Roman infantry - Cohors Evocata / Cohors Praetoriana
and
Roman infantry - Cohors Imperatoria
Then look at the names for 'texture' and 'model_flexi_m' they should be the same as the file names in the following folders:
eb/data/models_unit/textures/
and
eb/data/models_unit/
So for example the following line in the descr_battle_model is linked to the following file:
model_flexi_m eb/data/models_unit/EBUNIT_PROME_NEW_UNIT_ROMAN_LegioneAugustea_high.cas
But in the eb/data/models_unit/ folder the file name is as followed:
EBUNIT_PROME_NEW_UNIT_ROMAN_LEGIONEAUGUSTEA_HIGH.CAS
So if both names are the same, no changes has to be made in the export_descr_unit file
The only line that has to be deleted in that file is:
officer roman_eagle

hey, guys, how do you get rid of formation mini-mod? i dont like all the units being on guard mode by default. i have also noticed that AI doesnt cope very well and always leaves some units behind which leaves the rest of the army isolated and cut to pieces. not sure though whether that caused by formations... but these "reserves" seem to very rarely engage...
