So my EB install got f**ked up... and now I want to reinstall this great compilation but I have a little problem :sweatdrop: I can't download anything. I tried dissabeling firewall, antivirus, etc ... but everytime I download something (the pack, city mod, phalanx ...) it's named "X6" and is in an unknown format. Have no idea what this means :help:
EDIT: Nevermind, I cracked it ( stupid DAP ). But now I found that the City mod 5.1b with allied recruitment enabled has a small bug: roman allied units are just labeled "Legio" instead of "Legio I Kalabria"-for example. I know it's because of City mod 5.1b with allied recruitment because if I don't install it the labeling is good.
I would be very greatful Lz3 if you could spear the time to fix this.

Hi lz3 ime having a small problem.
i downloaded Spoils of Victory, Some trait changes (command stars & cursus honorum), Win Conditions, Force Diplomacy, and city mod and now the the computer ceepes giving me 100000 mani per turn when i should be in the negatives and the game starts to get alital boring when i can just bribe my way to victory. :smash::laugh4:
so do eny of those mods mess with the eb script in a way that can account for this. :help:

In the main post, I first read this:

But then, futher down the post, I read:
"Official EB fix adaptation. Download. Instruction: Unpack into <RTW directory>/EB/data."
...and:

City mod 5.1b appears to be missing some resources. Arretium cannot be upgraded to a City.

Two questions Lz3:
1. There's no differentiation between the Alex version of City Mod and the RTW version. Does this mean it will work regardless of .exe?
2. You wouldn't happen to have the old "revert back to 1.1" files, would you?

Hi,
I'm a real noob on all this modding stuff, but this pack really looks nice!
I play EB.exe version 1.2, and I allready have Force Diplomacy installed.
Can I install the pack without screwing my save games? (I allready restarted my Romani campaign three times!) or should I remove the previous mods first?
Also, Spoils of Victory says that they're not save compatible, is this fixed in this pack?
Anyway, great work on the modding, this really brings games to another level, way more creative than any company would ever dare or think of.

Win Conditions (since they dont represent 'new reality' in Eaem start map etc) Roman Allied Legions (since we use regions for naming First cohorts instead of Allied units that are mercenary ones)

does the "Mini mod pack v. 3.1", available from the first page of this thread, contain all the latest changes and bugfixes for EB 1.2? I mean especially the ALX.exe version...

Sorry for not answering but I had been away due to heavy loads of work (and I mean HEAVY). In fact I'm not done yet. =/ I think I'll have time to check on those bugs until April 6th or something.
So as to quickly answer some questions.
1- City mod version do differ in some aspects... or to be honest I don't remember. Maybe I chose to use 2 since they have slightly different map.rwm files.
2- Spoils of victory was moddified by me in order to get it working. To do so you need to do manually all the things that VT marvin explains in his readme.
3- Any problems with city mod are... well, originated in that very mod, so you might ask MAA for a fix :shrug: (unless he has released a fix in the time I wasn't here)
4- No it does not have all the fixes... you can download a fix from the main menu.
I did not had the time to convert the other fixes, basically all you need to do is download winmerge and compare the fixes files with yours and manually do the changes.
5- AFAIK there's a working "go back to 1.2" file. it's just lacking the installer I believe.
I also have the 1.1 files if anyone is interested, I'm not sure if that would un-upgrade EB to 1.1 without bugs though.
Er... did I miss a thing?

Em in theory it's savegame compatible... and you shouldn't have to erase your current mods, since this one would just overwrite them. However it's not fail proof. I asked if anyone could confirm the sgc (save game compatible), but no one answered, perhaps they didn't took the chance. but , at least theoretically, it should work.

Oh and... applying the fixes yourselves is easier that it seems, it normally only includes the EBBS anyways.
(about arretium not upgrading to city... em, I thought I had achieved that in my last game... um :shrug:)

It seems that the only bugfix not included into the Mini-mod pack is the latest EBBS Script fix, uploaded to the "1.2 Bugfixes" thread on February 1st, 2009 - thus I'll only have to compare the fixed EBBS linked in the first post of this thread (as on January 15th, 2009) with the Official bugfix.
I'm happy that here come 9 days free of work - two weekends and a whole week of rest (passed from the previous year - I'm usually saving it for future use).
BTW: I'm not using City Mod at all - just think that the EB is so much alternative history that implementung restrictions that might have occurred only in real history events is way too much.

Are you planning to merge the latest "packed fix", mentioned in the notes, with the latest official fix? (the script fix).

Quick question: stupid me forgot to backup my files before installing city mod and now that I'm done with my Roma campaign I want to do a Pahlava campaign. Will the "clean slate" file here be able to fix this so I don't have to do a complete reinstall?
||Lz3|| -- Fantastic job on the mod pack!! I just migrated up from 1.0 to 1.2 and installed the full pack before starting a new Baktrian campaign. Installation went quite smoothly and I'm lovin' every minute of my new and improved EB experience! I really like the RS textures in particular and I've had no problems with FD. I'm waiting to see how the City Mod pans out...

hi Liz. im playing your mod and tried reduce unit of triarii by half to make it more realistic, but each time i edit EDU save and boot the game it goes back to 160 men a unit. EDU then looks like it was never edited. looks like every time i boot the game (im using EB Single player exe) it discards my changes in EDU reversing them back to the original version. how can i fix that? whats happening?

You need to alter the back up EDU too when you use the trivial script.
It's in the frequent issues thread or in the FAQ.

This seems to be a most promising mod. Regrettably, the download link for the Alexander version isn't working, as the file appears to have been deleted. Could anyone who has the file please upload it and provide another download link?
It might be of interest to you to know that the download links to the backup files and the City Mod files aren't working either. This doesn't bother me, but I suppose someone else might want to download those files as well. All other download links are working, however.

when the installer asks you for the installation path, give it the location where your main RTW folder is located........I think Lz3 wrote that.....

Hehehe. Don't get over excited it's just a little, yet highly important, update.
I updated the Custom EB fix to the latest one. (A thousand and one apologies for not doing it before :sweatdrop:)

Instructions: Unpack it in you EB/data folder
It's highly advisable that everyone get this fix, otherwise you may be risking yourself to a potential CTD in late game.
(Using bovi's fix has the inconvenience of overwriting spoils of victory mod. If you had used that one, use this one to get SOV back to work.)

see if i've downloaded this (using alx) and i just click on the usual EB shortcut will it load it with alex?
I installed the phalanx mod and the RS map mod and then when opening EB I got a CTD during the initial loading screen. No error or anything, just closes.
I downloaded the original EB map installed that and tried again and it still crashed which led me to conclude that it was the phalanx mod that was acting up.
Seeing as there is no uninstaller for that mod or file to revert back to the original, I reinstalled EB and 1.2.
I reinstalled the phalanx mod again thinking I might have done something wrong on my previous attempt. I opened up the game and the game closed again.
Any ideas?
@Option: I think so. It should be. I'm not responsible if it turns out to be incompatible. =P
@Roka: Yes. Use your regular EB single or multiplayer shortcut. No adding extensions nor anything.
@Fierro: Humm that's weird... Others have used that with no problem. Did you installed the sprites fix before installing this?
OH and the backup, you don't need to reinstall the whole thing. Just re-run the pack installer. It will overwrite whatever you may have done. If you want to go back to the original EB instalation use the files in the first post* not sure if the link works though.

I notice in the first post that only the RS map textures are listed as independent. I'm using them (which looks great and feels like my campaign is on google earth) Now, I didn't install the entire 1.2 pack only the RS textures. Would that be the reason why attempting to install the phalanx mod crashes the game? Do I need to install the 1.2 pack to get the phalanx mod to work?
The reason I didn't install the 1.2 pack was because I didn't want the Roman allied legions but now I see that there's a way to remove it. I install this after installing the 1.2 pack, correct?

Well, yes that IS the problem. You'll see all the files here (except the independent ones) were modified to work along the others. If one of them is missing or if you just use a portion of them, the game will crash. The independent files are, well, independent, and as such cannot be considered as part of the 'pack'.
If you would like to have only the phalanx mod, you should go to the original phalanx thread (somewhere in this subforum). I think there's even a link in the main post, right next to the descriptions of the mini mods used.
On the SGC (save game bla...), I'm not sure. I have not tested it myself, since, well I don't have EB installed. The other 1000+ people who downloaded this thing have not said a thing about it. That could mean that:
a)They all started new campaigns, so they wouldn't know
b) They were to lazy to tell.
I'm honestly not sure if it's SGC, in theory it should I was told by a EB team member that if you added traits at the end of the file, it wouldn't mess up save games. I'm basing my assumption on his statement.

When will the next version of the mini mod pack be completed? I want to use Konny's Some trait changes (command stars & cursus honorum) and the Extended Offices Mod by Atraphoenix. However at the same time I am pretty engaged in my Romani campaign.
So , let me get this straight , it's E.B. 1.1 --> E.B. 1.2 ---> Sprites fix ( only ? none of the other two fixes ? ) ----> E.B. 1.2 Mini-mod Pack ( alx version - over an rtw 1.5 with alexander installed ) ----> scripts_customfix and I'm done ?
And I have to do nothing more to get this working ?
Am I right ?
No target lines or any changes of that sort to be able to work with alex engine ?
I would appreciate any help , sorry if this is tiresome but I'm not quite sure about the sequence of installation of the files .

a) the game runs more smoothly than before I think with the Alex-engine , I was pleasantly surprised .
b) the campaign A.I. seems improved , kinda , I have to play more to be able to confirm this .
c) the hoplites under A.I. control don't work as they do in Vanilla EB , they spread out as soon as contact is made , a fact which I particularly disliked , please propose a way to fix this , or point out any mistake I made in installing the files , if correction through re-installation is possible . I can't mod so it will be tough for me to fix manually I guess .
d) the battle A.I. seems improved ( is this the formations or the engine ?) but I have to play more to be able to confirm this .
e) Arche Seleukeia seems weaker than before . I started as Pontos ( VH/M ) after I employed my usual strategy of attacking them ( and everybody else I can for that matter ) on the first turn , the haven't sent any decent stack since , I kept forcing peace just because I was awfully bored to face armies of 1-4 units every second turn , they kept breaking it , until I forced for a turn protectorate status , which caused them to turn to the Ptolemaioi and the haven't bothered me for about 10 years or so since . They are not passive however , they fight a war with the Ptolemaioi and Antiocheia has changed hands a couple of times . The Koinon Hellenon have done a good job in surviving , have reached Byzantion , and I think subdued the Epeirote kingdom and made them protectorate . I suspect however that the Makedonian Kingdom has shrinked to Mytelenian Kingdom , and even then continuously failing to capture Pergamos . The Hayasdan have moved and captured a rebel settlement to their southwest not the coastal one , I can't remember the name .
f) the spoils of war mod works , I think .
g) I can't tell about the city mod since I don't know the specific effects over the towns I own and/or my faction .
h) I believe the A.I. retrains , which rawkz .
i) Occasionaly the mod doesn't start , I can't tell why , I click single player but it will fail to start , and sometimes will start after I reboot .
j) I have experienced once a CTD when trying to load a savegame - not an autosave , after restarting the game , it didn't happen again .
All in all a positive experience but see c) point and comments on AS . Good job mate . Thank you

- try Lysander's sihunet formations adaptations. He just updated his link. Hoplites makes wonders in sihunet but phalanx not much but believe if you download phalanx mod on minimod pack then lysander's sihunet formations adapt. for aı you enjoy your battles.
- I do not play city mod because I need huge cities to feed my catas.
- you can retrain so does AI, quite fair for me. Plus AI does not retrain a lot so I found no problem on it.
for installation process; I followed EB 1.1 > 1.2 > official fixes > minimod pack > LZ3's script adaptation > phalanx mod > RS textures and naval strat mod > Lysander's sihunet formations adaptations then my submods (mostly EOM and realist movement mod / As I am not a roman maniac I do not play much with my RS legions Mod).

I mentioned that as a positive thing under the general title "first impressions ". Of course there is no problem with the A.I. retraining , the opposite is the problem , to have an A.I. sending you full stacks ( in terms of unit slots ) with weak units . You have to kill them all to the last man , in the hopes that next time you will face a real full stack .

The hoplite issue is an unwanted side effect of the battle AI mod used in the pack. You may want to take a look at Lysander's thread for other options. They are actually independent, but I chose to add them to the pack.
On the AS thing... I don't know, perhaps it's cause of Alex.exe, no modding was done to the map AI (well besides the victory conditions, which usefulness is debatable). Perhaps they were busy fighting against the ptolies.:shrug:
@ Astro: I promise to add a promotional add for your mod in the main post. I'm not sure on whether or not add it to the main pack, since that would make it not SGC, wouldn't it?

AS is weaker because many players play with the factions that is neighbor of her.
so She attacks you like kamikazes. But when I played far away from AS they makes wonders but there are two common process either ptolemies or AS dominates east. but percentage has a tendency on ptolemies but AS also may dominate east if she tries to wipe out ptolemies. especially carthage also participates into that war. Saba is far away from being a real thread to ptolemies, but nearly all neighbors of AS have potential to be a great power.

beast master ancillary doesnt work. i checked in both ongoing campaigns, Roman and Armenian. it should give you discount on recruiting cavalry but despite that the price stayed the same as in city governed by any other FM without this ancillary, or in fact in any city.
anyone else noticed that? is it something to do with the mod or the EB in general?
I think that might be related to the extended offices mod by Astrophoenix. :shrug:

extended offices? is it a part of your pack? what does it do? i played Epirus, Rome, Armenia and Pontos so far but havent noticed anything new regarding that at all

@Sarkiss: No it's not part of the pack. The mods used did not touch ancilliaries, so that makes me guess that it's either related to Atraphoenix mod (extended offices, somewhere in this subforum) or EB. If it's not related to Astra's work, then you just found a bug in EB. :tongue:

I did not touch vanilla ancillaries, but it is a nightmare to trigger an ancillary :wall:
Plus, some ancillaries were orphaned by the team but no idea the ancillary he talks about orphaned or not.
P.S. I do not think he uses my mod, either.

And why after installing this is the EBBS script so much shorter? Its at least 5 mb smaller.
On a really bizarre turn of events, the links were magically restored in filefront. So now all links should be working...

You're not using the trivial script... (When did this, I thought everyone used it. Apparently not.)
You can either reactivate the trivial script or change the edu manually.
To change the EDU:
Go to your EB folder and search for sp game edu backup. Copy the edu located there and paste it in EB folder (or was it the EB/Data folder?) If an overwrite promp appears you did it right. :beam:
Are you using the original EB shortcuts? Or did you made another/ changed the target line? Because if the later you can use the trivial script just by restoring the original target line. If the former. I'm not sure.

That spear fix looks interesting... and quite important. Heh... The others. What's the hoplitai density mod?. I have mixed feelings about realistic movements though.

In fact, I would create a monthly turns system namely 12 turn for year and only one winter month as it is not realistic and I was too scared to script for nearly 10.000 turns that's why I changed movement points :laugh4:
As you know aging is hardcoded with winter turn, and also you have to change whole reforms in EBBS :dizzy2:
Also I do not know ancient Greek and Persian other celtic etc. months names.

Try redownloading the new copy I *just* put up. I've fixed some issues concerning picking the right installation directory.

EOM has no problem with any exes, but My RS Legions is only for alex as I passed RTW and BI limitations. :shame:
Hello.
I have encountered a problem and I would really appreciate it if someone could help me out.
I have RTW: gold and RTW: alexander installed, both via STEAM.
I downloaded EB 1.1 and EB 1.2 and the fixes for 1.2, installed them to my RTW: gold folder and changed the launch options on RTW: gold by adding "-mod:eb -show_err" (thank you mk56).
Then I launched the game via steam and EB worked perfectly (Best mod ever made for any game imo, thank you so much for this fantastic mod EB team.)
After finishing a campaign I wanted to try another campaign, this time with the EB 1.2 Mini mod pack and alexander.exe.
I downloaded Alx_pack3.exe and installed it to where I have my EB folder, "E:\Steam\SteamApps\common\rome total war gold".
Then I canged the launch options again in steam for RTW: gold, this time to "-mod:eb -show_err -nm -noalexander" (thanks to BeeSting).
This is where my problems begin, due to my own mistakes and misunderstandings.
When I try to launch the game now like before I get this; Generic Error: "DATABASE_TABLE error found max records exceeded from file eb/data/desc_model_battle.txt" after 2-3 seconds of having the EB launch screen background up (now with "aleXander" written on it in the bottom middle).
Then I thought maybe im supposed to change the launch option on my RTW: alexander shortcut in steam now instead of the RTW: gold shortcut.
So I cange the launch option of RTW: alexander by adding "-mod:eb -show_err -nm -noalexander" and try to launch it. What happned now was that I got the RTW:gold launch background and it freezes there for a while then I get this message; "Failed to read censored word dictionary file: data//chat_filter.san"
If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it, thank you.

Hey guys. First of all i'd Like to send my thanks to ||Lz3|| for this fantastic mod pack, and say that it has really breathed new life into EB for me.
I do have a bit of a minor problem with the Phalanx mod however. Using Alex.exe is it possible to get those updated animations along with the new stats? My Hoplites are still fighting and moving the way they used to before the Phalanx fix.
Furthermore i've thought about getting Fanatic's original Phalanx Mod but its unavailable.
So again, is there anyway i can get my Alex.exe phalanxes to maintain that awesome solid formation and fighting behavior?

Yep, they're only used by the AI on the way they place their troops before a battle.
Sorry if this is a dumb question, I have the latest Minimod Pack installed but don't seem to be getting all of the older Romani skins from the Darth_Stalin pack- The Marian Cohorts and Imperial Praetorians look great, but the Evocata and Imperial Cohorts are still those oversized looking ones that EB 1.0 (I think, or maybe 1.1?) switched to. Was it supposed to chage them all back to the old skins?
I also ended up just dragging and dropping the "hoplite density" mod into my EB install after having the modpack installed, anyone know if that could have somehow reverted the skins back to the new ones? Not really sure what's stored where other than unit stats when it comes to modding, sorry for the noob question...
Also, does the Giant Tree fix work with this pack?

Never mind my above post, the mod pack roman skins work fine, it was my own terrible (and forgotten when I posted) job of trying to add another mod in that ruined everything!

What happned now was that I got the RTW:gold launch background and it freezes there for a while then I get this message; "Failed to read censored word dictionary file: data//chat_filter.san"
The answer is:
1. copy the "chat_filter.san" file from "data" folder of the subfolder "alexander" (well, I don't know the structure of your files as I have the "Platinium edition" of RTW which puts into one large folder all 2 "add-on" folders: the BI and Alexander, each one iwth its own folder).
2. Paste the copied "chat_filter.san" file into "data" folder" of the "EB" mod folder within Your R:TW main folder.
Yhis will enable the ALX.exe engine to start running EB.

I'm new to EB and I'm trying to figure out the exact/correct way to install this from scratch. Here is what I think you should do.
1)I install RTW gold to a folder: For example lets say I install it in a folder named RTW.
2)Then I install Alex into the folder named RTW.

Perhaps I didn't do things correctly but I've noticed a couple problems.
1) The "Spoils of Victory" mod might not be working. After big battles, I never see any "spoil" traits/money. I looked at main hosts page and how he decribes what it should be doing makes me think it doesn't work in this mod pack.
2) The "Some trait changes (command stars & cursus honorum)" mod might not be working fully. After looking at the main hosts page I see that the following trait has not been removed from the game "The 3 influence penality of the "Plebeivs" trait". I still see this trait in my game. So perhaps this mod isn't working fully in the mod pack.
3) The "Roman Allied Legions" mod also seems slightly wrong. Camillan Hastati are replaced by Bruttian Infantry and Camillan Principes with Samnite Spearmen. But the Bruttian Infantry cost more initially and by upkeep compared to the Spearmen. Those spearmen that cost less also have better stats than the Infantry. I doubt this is how it should be.
I'm going to redo everything one last time before I get into a game to see if I "might" have done something, but I doubt it.
Also, for the optional dls. I don't know how to feel about the city mod (Just because not all cities became huge in the past doesn't mean you will run your faction exactly how it was in the past), so I wont use it. But the other 3 are pretty nice. The 2 graphics/tecture mods look perfect. So much better than in the regular EB.

Sorry for being absent of this thread for quite some time now. Since I entered uni, I can only find free time on weekends, and to be honest, I'm not playing RTW right now, so I'm totally lost about new stuff in the EB modding world. :sweatdrop:

Yep, that order is correct.
Now on the questions:
1) Yep, you can play the game.
2) No, you don't need more fixes, unless they were issued after the latest update of the mod (making the exception of the modified script which enables SoV)
3) Yes, you could. However, if the next time you play you're not roman, they wont be under the influence of the mod.
4)Yes, everything you find here is compatible with the mod.
5) I didn't make it part of the main file because a considerable amount of people preferred the hoplites the way they were, so...
6)Yes it's totally stable. You won't have more problems than you have with EB.
7) You just need to use the original shortcuts. I did the changes to make it work like that. Personally I think all mods should be like that, hehehe. Now it seems that people find it weird that they can play with their original shortcuts.
8) The problem with the edu is related to the trivial script. Those who have problems with it are those who aren't using the trivial script.

1) They do work. Unless you're using a new 'official script fix' by the EB team, SoV should be working. I should say that it's not as easy to get, you need to destroy a full stack or so to get it.
2) Weird... What about the other traits? I remember that blooded, for example gave a command star.
3) Well, allied troops were different to roman ones, that's why they should cost more and or have more/less upkeep. Their equipment is different as well as their training.
4) USE those textures! You wont regret my friend. :grin:

I was more talking about that the allied units are off. The Bruttian Infantry needs to be switched, by position in the requitment tab, with Samnite Spearmen. The samnite spearmen have better stats but are less expensive than the bruttian infantry. Their cost/upkeep seem to be reversed from what it should be.
-I followed the following order and other than the problems I mentioned before, it works wonderful:
for installation process; I followed EB 1.1 > 1.2 > official fixes > minimod pack > LZ3's script adaptation > phalanx mod > RS textures mod > naval strat mod > Lysander's sihunet formations adaptations > EOM 2.1b V.T. Marvin's Adaptation.

2)When a unit is gets a "provincial governorship", you don't get an ancillary. So you can't switch it to other governors.

your installation order is correct, I cannot help for (1) but for (2) I am a bit confused? :inquisitive:
you mean, the general cannot get the ancillary symbol? or ancillary itself?
for second part of (2) you can change ancillaries between your generals, if:
- he has less than 8 ancillary,
- he is not limited according to the trigger of the ancillary,
- and the ancillary is not "Unique" that means you can get the ancillary only once.
(Note: I do not have any unique ancillaries in any version of EOM)
I have the same problem with you on (1) no idea whether an EB problem or Minimod pack problem.
But does not care much.

So when I move my generals around, not only don't I know what city that trait is for, I can't switch it to another governor.

the best solution is sending a save game to me, I use alex if you other exes this is even not worth.
then I can say what is wrong with your game, I have one assumption, but will not explain without any evidence, so need your save game first to check.

it is an optional add-on that I have added already but could not see much difference. Phalanx units lost their cohesion after some time but I use lots of micromanaging /encircling/ hit and run/ envelopments/
so I do not think it s not unrealistic. But at the beginning they march under phalanx mode. that makes my archers useless against them.

AI tries to catch my HAS with phalanxes, that is the funny part, mod is great but not AI....
If you play with phalanx, no problem but a normal experienced EB player can spoil their cohesion easily...

I'd probably start a new game.. Maybe even clean installs first. Old saved games can be glitchy when you start putting more mods on top of them, even if they shouldn't be.

Yeah! The problem seems to be only with saved ones. By the way, the Phalanx mod is the only one in first page that did not have the archives to revert it... It would be interesting to add this in page one...

The problem is that I'm not for sure what I need to do and if it is even compatible with my modded game or saved games or if this is even the right version of the mod. I did that step and it seems to be working. It's nice seeing stars at night and even the daytime looks nice with clouds. I'm still not for sure if this will work in the long run and why there was no skydome.txt file in eb/data.

I'm running this mini mod (RTW.EXE) on BI.
So far So good, haven't been playing long though.

One thing regarding allied Legions and the legionary name attribute.
Contrary to what can be found on the forum. The numbering doesn't reset . Meaning i tested it up to legio LI , then got bored. Still 51 legions is kinda ruining the gameplay here.
Does anyone know how i can correct that?

I tried deleting the legionary name attribute from EDU, but each time i start a game, EDU repairs itself and back come the numbers.
How can i turn this off?
I've allready installed the EDB with the normal romani recruitment, but this doesn't help?
I've succeeded in deleting the legionary_name attribute (in EB/sp game edu backup), but had several CTD untill I disbanded the original starting units. I had to use add_money to balance my temporary weakness, but we're in 260 again, ready to start the Poenic war.
I'm having some problems which I've reported in the support thread.
I've got a CTD as Pahlava, that I can't get past that occurs with the March of Time reforms.
Also, conquered cities are not developing for the AI. They are "stuck" repairing foreign governments.
Could either of these issues be related to anything in this combo pack which I'm using with Alex?

I am getting no crash to desktops throughout the game (which would either suggest a correct installation or an installation which did not occur), the force diplomacy doesn't seem to be working and when I right click an academy or school I was hoping I'd see written "increas law/public order 5%".
Any ideas? I apologise immediately if this has been answered in this thread already.

As far as I can tell, the mini-mod itself includes all that is listed under "List of used minimods".
Also as far as I can tell, the City mod, Phalanx mod, RS Textures, and Naval strat map add-on are independent and optional sub-mods. That is to say, they are not included in the MINI MOD PACK.
I do not use the mini mod pack as I may occasionally come across an online game and do not want to have to remove the mini mod simply to play an online game. Other than that, wonderful mod pack.

What do you mean? If you mean the modification allowing one to run EB using the Alex executable, I would doubt it, because that is what the Alex version of the mini-mod is there for--to run EB with Alex. I would be surprised to see the game modded to work with Alex if you are downloading the RTW version of mini-mod (it would not make sense, eh?).

No, you need to have alex.exe (and the alex pack) in order to get those benefits. =/

You have to reset the advisor in the options window everytime you want to enforce FD.

I got the same error because I installed the mini-mod into the core Rome folder by mistake.
So, I had to re-download EB 1.1 and 1.2, reinstall both then download the mini-mod and reinstall it, too. Pain in the butt. :(
I just installed the mini mod but it seems not to be working. What is the correct folder to install it to? I installed it into RomeTotalWar\EB\Data.

Open Steam, right click on the Alex icon ->Properties-> Launch Options-> and input -mod:eb -show_err at the prompt.
IRT Topic: I installed the mini-mod, but can't get Force Diplomacy to work. I reset the advisor, then carefully follow the steps, bu it always just shows the victory conditions, never forces diplomacy.
I've tried installing it three different times, and even seperately d/ling and installing the Force Diplomacy mod, and it simply won't work. :frown:
Do I have to install EB to the alex folder for that to work?

I'm having an odd problem playing the Alex.exe version. I'm playing Arche Seleukia and every time I send a family member, or recruit a general, to Marakanda they promptly die, but nothing pops up in the faction news. The only way I know they've died is they make that assassinated, "Euuuuuuuugh" sound when I end my turn. Anyone else have this problem?

This is first rate and quality compilation AND it's the only way to play alex without fussing with the txt files, tho i agree the initial post is badly organized and confusing.

I was able to save the RTW_pack3.exe to my hard drive using firefox, but to be honest i don't think it's working. I realized I had already installed force diplomacy on the copy of EB I used from another hard drive, and I had added RS textures and city mod independently. As of right now, I don't see any evidence that any of the core features of the pack are working in my game.
As to my original problem, I re-copied and pasted my EB folder from my other HD and tried to re-install the pack. My mnai problem went away but still no MMP features. :no:

Ok I want to make sure I did this correctly.
1) rome, bi, alex all updated all ok. EB 1.1, EB 1.2, All 3 EB 1.2 fixes. Mini mod for alex, then:
Important Custom EB fix adaptation. Download. Instruction: Unpack into <RTW directory>/EB/data.
(If you use the 'Official' fix from bovi's thread, it will overwrite spoils of victory mod. That aside, this one is identical and you really should use it)
overwriting the current one.

It seems Sinuhet AI formations are added but MC’s Player Formations are not. Can I add the Player formations and is it recommended to do so?

You need to have installed the fixes BEFORE, and I think it's a problem with Darth's Romani mod with corrected gallic helmet plus the Aquilifer, the first makes them have an old EB skin which looks good, and the other gives an Aquilifer to the first cohorts.
You could install Atraphoenix' RS Legions mod and download my Mod pack, take the EDU and paste it to your install.

My game keep crashing around 269-268bc over and over again. I have reinstalled everything 10 times and have dropped a lot of submods to try to locate the reason.
The only thing I have found so far that i think is strange is that EBBS_SCRIPT in this modpack revert back the changes made in the 1.2 fixes for EB.
I'm gonna continue to search for the reason I get this crashes, but I'm about to give up this minimod :dizzy2:

Its just me trying to make the AI more challenging and aggressive. In the vanilla EB the AI factions never is a threat. I don't really understand how the AI work, they fight back and forth but never really kill of their neighbors or try to conquer the world. So I give some factions much more money and units, and do some diplomacy tweaking, and hope that will make a difference.

I didn´t want to mess with other features of the mod, so i´ve extracted the zip files into a separate folder and then c&p the 3 text docs from "Konnies Generalship" adjustments. Aside from the fact that the night battle ability doesn´t seem to be enabled at all ( i play on bi.exe ), i got some interesting trait overlapping today ( at least i think, it´s a glitch ): One of my Parthian generals became first a "Renown General" and soon afterwards a "Warchief". Now, afaik, the first one is reserved for "civilized" factions, while the latter is for "barbarians" only ( and for "nomads", i guess ). Now, Parthians are both: Nomads and they got the option to settle and get civilized. So my question is: is it normal for the Pahlava generals to get both of this traits, or do my files got somehow screwed up?
Never mind: i took a look ad EDCT file and found that "Warlord" and "Renown" can be triggered at the same time - i must have had lots of luck, since the chances for that are quite low :)

Does anybody have the 3.1 version with the alex.exe? I can't seem to find it after all the 'Mega' shutdowns.
On another point. To use the alex.exe, do I need to make a full reinstall of everything or can I just installe alex above the current versions and make some swaps?
I know, lazy of me, but I 'm just reluctant to throw everything off and reinstall...

Did you ever find out if you had citymod 5.1b for this minimod? 5.1a is avail but not the Hellenization/Romanization version. The original 5.1b city mod i have but not the one compatible with this.

I'm glad someone's keeping this modpack alive, mlc. I'm sad though because I never got the Alexander expansion!
Does anyone have the RTW.exe version? Or perhaps a BI.exe version? I'd love to give this a try.
Anyone know what the difference is between the two (alex vs rtw only)? It might just be a few files needing editing, which I'd be glad to do this weekend if not before, if I had any idea which ones... Also MagicCuboid, check your messages.

Important Custom EB fix adaptation. Download. Instruction: Unpack into <RTW directory>/EB/data.
(If you use the 'Official' fix from bovi's thread, it will overwrite spoils of victory mod. That aside, this one is identical and you really should use it)
I will investigate it further.
It's was just a custom fix to have the two files together, because they conflict each other.
