On a more serious note, I have this hunch. Hinging on the fact that my hypothesis is correct, that means that Omanes is mafia and will not share in the town victory. However, if you've truly been playing as town this whole time, Omanes, then it would be a shame for you to lose this game, as your contributions helped us immensely. So I think if you vote for yourself then Detective Andy may be able to share in the town victory.

Edit: Boudica's sacrifice... I honestly think that it was just her in-character way of dying due to the flames. Her second role was that of a mellow yet delusional person. She thought she was taking people on vacation when she roleblocked them.

Listen, I'll let you know right now, I am not mafia to the extent of my knowledge. The way this game is going, I can't afford to be surprised at anything, but if somehow I turn out to be mafia, I assure you I didn't know it myself. The only thing I've done this game is eat bodies that are already dead.

Day Six





Omanes Alexandrapolites, known to everyone as Detective Andy, had barricaded the door to his room with the metal bar, now fully aware of the seriousness of his blackouts. He had no way of knowing what had happened to him at night. The mob of insane people was at his door, trying to kill him. They couldn't break in. Surrounded by all the empty bottles of experimental anti-depressant medication, a bloody metal bar, and the horror of realization, he just sat there as they banged and banged on the door. He could smell the smoke and the fire approaching. No matter what happened, this would be the last night that any of them would experience inside this huge and mostly abandoned asylum in the mountains. Andy was left wondering what to do tonight.

On the radio, a song crackled through the speakers, which Andy had been trying to take apart and turn the radio into a transmission device to ask for a rescue. It was the song by REM:

Andy debated whether or not he should bother investigating anyone. He wasn't sure how to proceed... but he wanted to save the remaining survivors... how could he protect them? The fires would kill more tonight... would they live to see the dawn? And would the Psycho finally die?

The Final Night.

Detective Andy could bear the weight of his crime no longer. It was time to overdose and kill himself. Deep in depression, he takes the medication... but the dose was not fatal. Andy went insane. He started to change... to change... to change into something more.... more..... the incarnation of Desire. The Psycho had returned as Desire... and he broke down the door to his room, and took the metal bar with him. Time to massacre the weak once again, and steal their precious gems and consume them.

Yes... for the gems were really stones of greatness... they gave the God of Desire his strength. His great wisdom. His great courage. His unflinching certainty. And his terrible destructive power. The God of Desire stalked the halls of the asylum and found his victim... the insane one known as Psychonaut. How ironic that Psychonaut would be annihilated by the Psycho... the God of Desire.

Psychonaut spoke with the voices of them all...

"We are Andy... Andy is coming for us.... the pain in his heart... the terrible pain... the desire for greatness... the desire for absolution... the desire for an end to the pain... oh Andy.... we forgive you. We know your heart is pure. We know you mean us no harm. Andy... we see what you have done... it must stop. It must come to an end. We must contact the Death God."Andy smashed Psychonaut's skull right in, and enjoyed the sickening crunching sound. He searched the body looking for the stones of greatness.... the stones of power.... he found some in his pocket, in a bottle with a prescription label. Yes.... yes.... these were the stones of power. Andy, the God of Desire, found the very stones which would make him great.

I HAVE BECOME IMMORTAL!!!!

Andy swung the metal bar as hard as he could. He could feel the rush of power... mmmm.... delicious power.... he was unstoppable. He was invincible. He was invulnerable....

The Final Night.

The burning corpse of the one known as Fahad rose.... as the Death God, Gohbel.

Gohbel walked down the hallways of the burning asylum... casting orbs of fire in all directions... seeking to consume everything in delicious flame. The burning God of Death came across Psychonaut's dead body... and from those dead lips, he heard that Psychonaut was White Eyes... White Eyes.... the Death God caused Psychonaut's body to lift up and walk with him down the burning hallway. Appearing behind the Death God were the spectres of Death... Boudica, Greyblades, woad&fangs, Ares, Yoyoma, Captain Blackadder, Beefy187, Taka the Provider, Kralizec, TheFlax, and Lord Winter.

They came across White_Eyes, who was busy cutting his wrists with a wooden spoon. He looked at the Death spirits and saw his idol, the Provider.

"Please, Death God Gohbel... I go wherever the Provider tells me. Take me with you!"
And Gohbel took pity on the insane fool, and launched a firestorm towards the confused mortal. He incinerated instantly. The Death spirits marched towards the far side of the Asylum... closer and closer...

The Final Night.

Detective Andy was in his room, blood all over his hands, coming out of his drug-induced delerium... he saw what he had done. He worked feverishly to finish the radio transmitter, but he could sense the spectre of Death approaching. The final piece of the puzzle was missing. Detective Andy had failed for the last time. He took the radio transmitter and hurled it out of his window... it landed softly in the adjacent field, right before the forest. When he turned around, he saw the image of Death incarnate. Gohbel, in all his burning fury, stood before Detective Andy, and with the wrath of the Gods, he summoned a brilliant, searing flame. Detective Andy welcomed death, for it was the only way to cleanse his soul and pay for his terrible atrocities. Gohbel smiled on Andy, and purified him in flame. He died very quickly, and there was not much pain.

The Psycho had been destroyed by the fires, of course. Not some burning God of Death... that wouldn't make much sense, now would it? But... how did all the dead bodies end up in Andy's room? How come the fire seemed to consume Andy alone, and leave the rest of the room intact?The Psycho had been destroyed.

Daybreak.

The remaining patients, Chaotix the cannibal, and Shlin the servant of the provider, emerged from the Crusty Asylum for the Criminally Interesting, which had been burning for days, in a slow, controlled flame. As soon as they emerged from the burning building, it collapsed on itself and was completely engulfed in flames. They walked away from the building, somewhat aware of the danger of being inside it. But now they were lost in the Greenpepper Mountains.

They saw the radio in the grassy field. Chaotix picked up the device and tried to eat it, because he hadn't eaten last night. As he bit down on a transistor, the radio crackled to life. The song that was playing was by Napoleon XIV...

Chaotix dropped the device in surprise, and the insane song stopped. Then Shlin picked it up and bashed it against his head and spoke into what looked like a speaker, but it had been dismantled and replaced with something else.

"Hello? Glorious Leader.... my dear, sweet provider.... where are you? Taka, my idol, my God... please speak to me..." said shlin28.

"Hello? Who is this? This is the Greenpepper National Park ranger station number 13, with whom am I speaking?" crackled the voice on the radio.

"God.... is that you?" said shlin28.

"Oh no... another nutjob from that insane asylum across the state lines got ahold of a radio transmitter again... someone call the building's custodian. ...what? They still haven't gotten power? And the telephone lines are out? Oh my gosh, they must have gotten overlooked after that terrible storm. We'll send you a rescue crew right away, mister...?"

"Servant of God."

"Right, mister... Servant of God... is there a nice orderly or a doctor we can speak, mister Servant of God?"

Chaotix27 snatched the radio from shlin28 and shouted into the device.
"We are in the field adjacent to the Crusty Asylum, and it burned down... we are the only survivors... please hurry... please.... I am a cannibal and I haven't eaten in days... and shlin28 is starting to look like a rack of lamb...."

"I am the lamb of God. Please eat me, mister Chaotix." said shlin28.

Chaotix: "Okay...."

Chaotix27 was rescued by the team of volunteers who patrolled the mostly unpopulated wilderness in Greenpepper. They asked him where the Servant of God went.... and he replied.... "he's in a better place now." And the rescue workers nodded solemly, thinking they understood.

But Chaotix just smiled and thought about how delicious he was.

This is a fun and unusual game, as is typical of my games. I will say right off the bat that this is not like the Golden Rule, this is a more standard kind of game, but always with a twist. Most everyone here is roleplaying a mental patient, or has specific things they must do to participate under the constraints of their role, so do not discount anyone as a suspect and do not think that just because someone is acting suspicious that means that they are mafia. Everyone has an equal chance of being the killer or killers.

You can reveal your role. You are one of the few people who are allowed to do so.

I think the puzzle was fairly straightforward. One confirmed serial killer/vigilante, boudica, and one detective who kills everyone he investigates. I gave the serial killer the ability to kill Andy, as well as the Death God, and Taka the suicide bomber, and also Omanes himself, who could suicide.

But it was still a trickly solution, given some of the people who could kill Andy were dead. it was always the option for Omanes to kill himself, so the town always had a chance of winning. And if 3 players survived the final night, Omanes could kill himself on the FINAL final day.

I realized after boudica died that the game could be too easy, so I made Andy lynch immune if he investigated himself, which he did.

The game had 3 detectives... a cannibal detective, a mute detective, an insane detective, and psychonaut, who could steal detective powers.

That's 4 potential detectives.

The town controlled who could die, because Andy was pro-town. Boudica was neutral, all she had to do was survive, and she could claim vigilante because she was the only one. Taka was a one-shot vigilante who could kill Andy at any time. We had defenders and roleblockers too. And any investigation on the Arsonist would have turned him up innocent, thus making him unlikely as a lynch choice.

He was overpowered, but the entire game was full of powerful roles. I wanted you to win. And the arsonist couldn't really do anything until he died. And he could just as easily have lost you the game... had he picked someone besides Andy, you would have lost.

This is probably the first mafia game as town where I feel genuinely happy about winning, probably because I figured out the whole story before the final write-up.

I very much enjoyed the game itself. Playing a cannibal was... interesting, to say the least.

And at the last, I feel the need to put it out there (as if it weren't obvious enough in my sig :laugh4:) that my large mafia game is next up after the Settlement and Inishmore are over. It's called "The Council of Villains", and it will contain a lot of role-play roles- so if you liked this, you may like that one. Additionally, it shamelessly pulls many elements from other recent mafia games, including ATPG's own "Full Monty".

We... uh... I had a lot of fun roleplaying a multi-personality insane person. My role was pretty cool, I enjoyed it, I basically was using it as a form of detective, even if I didn't copy Beefy. Basically to fish out two roles a night. These are the night action results I got.


We are White Eyes. We believe in the Provider. We love the Glorious Leader. Hmm... Where is the Glorious Leader? She is not the glorious leader. We love the glorious leader. Hmm... we cannot do anything. Boudica's voice... we no longer hear. This makes us very sad.


We are Beefy. We see what Beefy sees. Hmm... we can't seem to speak. But we can see. We can see. We see Captain Blackadder. We know Captain Blackadder... we have been watching Captain Blackadder. The snake, the snake, the snake... Blackadder is a snake with a forked tongue. Blackadder does not tell the truth.

The Snake. Blackadder is the snake. We are Beefy, we see the snake. But the snake has no venom. The snake does not bite. We are the Snake. The Snake has no venom. We are the Beefy. The Beef does not talk. We are the Psychonaut. Why is Lord Winter following us?

The third night I copied Lord Winter on Omanes, but nothing happened.

The flavor is good one moment, and bad the next moment. It goes down smooth, but has a bad aftertaste. Still, it does not make your stomach upset. You are happy with this meal. It is a good meal for certain. but it is not evil.

Chaotix: You slowly roast Woad&fangs over a fire started by GobbledyGook. Mmm.... he's such a good cook. He likes fires. But he leaves before he figures out just what you're eating.... Mm.... tastes like woad. Tastes like fangs. Tastes like woad&fangs. Tastes like Advanced Delusional Paranoid Schitzophrenia with Involuntary Narcissistic Rage. But it still tastes good. Nothing evil here.

Chaotix-

Once again, a fire was set in the Asylum. this time it was contained in the cafeteria, and there was very little to burn. You made use of this opportunity to drag Taka's burnt body over to the fire and keep his flesh warm. You opened a bottle of cheap wine and took lots of medication, and tasted the finest and most succulent rotisserie-style Taka that you've ever tasted. Mmm.... dipped in barbecue sauce... his meat just melted in your mouth. He was absolutely Divine. He was quite Heavenly, indeed. It was like Ambrosia... like Manna... a meal fit for the Gods themselves, or those who served the Lord faithfully. A bit spicy, though. Fortunately you took an antacid and you're fine, and you're also high as a kite from all the drugs. A very satisfying meal. So far, the only one who really upset your stomach was the corpse of boudica's first incarnation.

Chaotix- (gobbledygook) I can tell you right now, he tastes like a very tasty charcoal-grilled steak covered in Mongolian Fire Oil. But there is an evil aura coming from this meat... it could give more people indigestion than just you... and there is that fire spreading everywhere. You're not safe. And the Psycho is still alive.

beefy investigates Taka. Result: Taka is the Lord, or at least he believes he is. He has a couple loyal followers. When you followed him around all night, you felt as though someone was following you as well, someone armed with a weapon. But you survived. You didn't see anyone murder anyone that night. Taka is the light and the way.

beefy: You see boudica. boudica sees you. You see boudica. boudica sees you. boudica takes you on vacation. You are captured by boudica, and you are taken far, far away... out into the forest. You are tied up and left there all night, and you cannot see anyone until the morning. You cannot see, you cannot speak. In the morning, boudica comes. In the morning, boudica comes. Boudica drags you back to the asylum and into your room, and then hits you on the head. You can't remember anything else. It is the morning. Boudica is gone, and you are alive.

I thought everyone's RP was fantastic - it's a pleasure to play with yhou all - and I'm sorry I didn't participate so much at the end - I guess I was feeling a little sour, having been killed twice in the game, but subbing for Kralizec was much more fun than being lynched straight away for being Serial Killer - Going to have to work on my game :2thumbsup:

Great game! I'm sorry that I wasn't involved after I died. Last of the Romans has been using up all my forum time. The role playing was absolutely hilarious!
