One of the most active posters in the game, but his posts have relatively little substance to them. The deepest they get is to ask innocuous questions about grmphs without following up with any actual voting pressure to get answers. His behavior during the Ferret lynching looks suspect to me. Kumquat then clearly doesn't find Ferret's explanation to be decent, since his response to it is:

Seems like we are going to run out of time before we can figure this out, at that rate.
What does the hand coming down out of the sky to pick GH up, mean in his murder write up? Was he the special role, or will he get put back into the game soon...maybe as another role...?? If he was the "special role" then that was the last "role" left besides the remaining Grumps. Is that why the murders increased??? Or did we hit some mafia with the lynches and maybe their down to 1???
A lot to think about, but we better figure out something soon. I fear we are running out of time. I'm really starting to think that these Grumps are not our friends, or am I just being paranoid. :laugh4:

Madness in the night.
I had planned on revealing my role today before I sent my night orders, assuming I survived the night. Things have not unfolded as I had hoped, but I think it will be in the best interest of the town if I follow through with my reveal anyway. Perhaps it will clear up some confusion; perhaps it will only add to it.
I am a Rogue Detective, and I killed GeneralHankerchief last night. I had two abilities:
(1) Scan, which would start by providing inconclusive or useless results, but would improve in usefulness the more I used it.
(2) Night kill, one time use (represented by a revolver with only one bullet left).
On Night 3 I scanned Ferret randomly and found that he had been running through the woods at night, but no explanation as to why. At this point I reached out to the grmphs privately and informed them of my role and my findings. I only requested a response from Chaotix because, as far as I could tell, he was the only one with the ability to speak openly at that point, and he did reply favorably. So I scanned Ferret again on N4 and found him chewing on a human bone. I mentioned this in my "meatball" vote for Ferret on Day 4, snickering to myself, and Ferret was eventually lynched.
Night 5, I scanned GeneralHankerchief, whom I had been suspicious of already, and found that he possessed a significant role, but I was not able to ascertain whether he was friend or foe. But after Makrell's revelations, it seemed clear that both the Healer and the Wise Old Man had been killed already. And with the grmphs already identified, I was the only remaining non-cannibal role, so by process of elimination, GH had to be scum. When I failed to get him lynched D5, I decided to take matters into my own hands. It seemed an easy decision.
But it would seem that things were not as simple as they seemed, or so it seems. I received a PM from Andres informing me that my investigation had been "messed with" and that I may have killed an innocent man. If that is the case, I apologize to GeneralHanky for your untimely end. I had wondered why my role was titled Rogue Detective when I was supposed to be town-aligned, but now I suppose it was a subtle hint that my main ability was potentially faulty. It also throws into doubt my scan results on Ferret. Based on the write-up, it definitely seems that there are still multiple cannibals on the loose. I have no idea why there was a fourth attack last night, nor why it failed.
In any event, I no longer have my scan ability, but it has been replaced by another. I won't say exactly what that new ability is, but it is passive. And it will likely be amusing when it happens.

Ah well, kinda saw it coming. The face that the scum didn't immediately kill you the night after the Ferret lynch (it was a pretty obvious "I know something" vote) should have tipped you off that something was wrong, but it's water under the bridge now.
What did you do on N1 and N2?

I don't really understand what a mafia player would gain from raising suspicion on a team mate but not voting for him, if that is what you're suggesting Kumquat did to me. Surely doing the opposite would be more effective. In any case, B-Wing has just admitted that all his scans were false so that argument doesn't really work.

No he hasn't, he just said that his GH result was wrong, he never said anything about the others. You'll notice that he said that his results get better the more he does them. He investigated you twice, but GH only once. That could explain the situation.

You might want to get your story straight here. You just pointed out that B-Wing got a bad result on GH, the bad result being that B-Wing thought GH had a power role, but it turned out he didn't. So, B-Wing did not cause the death of anyone who seemed to have had a power role. Plus, how do you know GH was a townie? PIS much?
In any case, B-Wing had essentially exposed himself as the detective in the thread to get Ferret lynched, and it would have been quite simple for someone with an investigation spoofing role to target him after that point. It's a fair point to say that B-Wing must be scrutinized more closely if he doesn't get killed, but the write-up clearly shows he's not a cannibal and thus his story is entirely plausible. At this point, I'd bet he's telling the truth and you were guilty.

B-Wing pretty blatantly IDed himself as having investigated Ferret with his very first post on the subject. While he later said he was meatballing that post, the very first time I read it I interpreted it as a straight detective result post. This is a game with mafia cannibals who eat people. B-Wing said he personally saw Ferret chewing on a bone. That sounded like a direct investigation result to me, which is indeed exactly what it was.

Again, if you wanted an explanation from Ferret for stuff unrelated to B-Wing's post, why did you quote B-Wing's post and respond to it? While his attacker was still recovering from the blow, edse shook his head and sat down again, picking up his cigar and his glas of whisky. But he forgot to take the knife and put it away safely. A mistake that costed him his life, as his attacker suddenly grabbed the knife and pierced it through edse's body.

After the attack of last night, Zack was extra cautious.
He now was wearing a life jacket!
"Whatever happens, I won't die from drowning," he said, while somebody was busy piercing his knife through the jacket.
"Damn you, you ruined my life jacket!" Zack yelled at his attacker.
"Don't worry. I won't drown you," the attacker said, grinning.
"Fear me, for I have a large beard!" Zack said.
"Not anymore," the attacker said, pulling a razor blade, slowly and carefully applying shaving cream on Zack's face and gently shaving off his beard while singing "Figaro, figaro figarooooo!"
"No, not my beard!"
"It wasn't even blue," the attacker said.
"But I also have a wooden leg!" Zack said, waving around his hook.
"Not anymore," the attacker said, sawing off Zacks' wooden leg while avoiding his hook.

"Enough," the attacker yelled and he jumped up, a big knife in his right hand. However, suddenly, something pushed him, causing him to fall.
As the brave and legendary pirate and true hero he was, Zack heroically ran away, screaming for his mother.

The attacker couldn't take it anymore and dropped his knife, grabbed a beer and started to sing as well.

After 8 or 9 iterations, Yay! was too drunk and fell over. His attacker stumbled over Yay!, accidentally killing him with his knife.
"Yay!" he screamed out, singing the Yay! song just one more time.

I am going with Chaotix. I am usually good at picking up scumtells with him, so here is some reasoning!
He was defending me at the start, which either means he was trying to get on my good side, or knowing I was inactive so hoped to keep me around till later in game for part of his mafia victory.
So the next day, I thought I would have him talk. So I voted ahead for him. Knowing it was a joking vote whilst I get together with the game, he simply ignored it and passed it off, hoping to lose my attention.
So I decided to play it again, get the almighty Chaotix to take some notice and voted for him again. What is surprising is that he turned around and voted for me, in an OMGUS. However, this would be conflicting with his earlier reasoning that I was inactive due to my green and simply not paying enough attention to the game. So this correct logic, voting me would have been pretty pointless as it would only be ensuring the downfall of an inactive town. As it has been mentioned in the game, the pro-town roles have already been bumped off, so logic and statistically voting for anyone else opposed to a known townie has a greater chance of a scum dying.
Then Choxorn jumps in with a bogus reasoning, Best was B-wing with this gem "Tiaexz, on the other hand, seems marginally helpful as a townie", so he actively votes some one he believes is town in defense of Chaotix.
I think I rocked the hornets nest a little and Chaotix is the scum we are looking for.

How can I say no to Visorstain's argument?
Clearly, Slabstain protected Zack two nights in a row. Not sure why he chose to protect him twice, but he did, and it worked. So it seems he's on our side. But are we assuming he actually knows the alignments of certain players? Like a better version of my role? I guess his muteness might balance his inability to be killed. But what about the grmphs? They're mute, too, yet without any apparent abilities. Except possibly for a QT. I wonder if they're capable of things we don't know about.
Also, interesting of Andres to have this write-up to mention only one attacker each time. Messing with us?

Suddenly, all around 'khaan and Skully's skull disappeared. Skully became Abstain again, a long, strong warrior, holding a long spear and a shield. 'khaan suddenly found himself with a composite bow on his back, a sabre on his side and a spear in his hands.

A gong sounded, followed by a voice declaiming a poem:

When Abstain came back, trying to take possession of his skull once again, he couldn't. He tried and tried, but it was impossible. Suddenly, the skull exploded and Abstain was just a powerless dead guy.

In a game I hosted called Psycho Mafia (the first one) Beefy had a similar restriction and seemed to communicate just fine with emotes. Not unprecedented.

The last of the grmphs was staring in the distance. He heard footsteps behind him and turned around slowly.
A man was standing behind him.
"You must die," he said.
"No, you must die," Chaotix replied.
"You're the last one left."
"In fact, there are still 27 of us," Chaotix, who was, is and always will be, in reality, Chaotix27, yelled, and suddenly, there were 27 Chaotixes standing in front of his attacker. They were called Chaotix1, Chaotix2, Chaotix3, Chaotix4, Chaotix5, Chaotix6, Chaotix7, Chaotix8, Chaotix9, Chaotix10, Chaotix11, Chaotix 12, Chaotix13, Chaotix14, Chaotix15, Chaotix16, Chaotix17, Chaotix 18, Chaotix19, Chaotix20, Chaotix21, Chaotix22, Chaotix23, Chaotix24, Chaotix25, Chaotix26 and Alexander "ooh I'm always so special" the Ruiner of Harmony.
The attacker drew his sword and attacked the Chaotixes who just kept standing there, forming a circle around the attacker, jumping on one leg, then on the other, making silly "woo" "aaah" "haia" sounds and generally being useless, allowing the attacker to kill them one by one, like in those idiotic kung fu movies. After about 30 minutes of this sort of sillyness, the only Chaotix left was Alexander "ooh I'm always so special" the Ruiner of Harmony.
But the attacker threw his sword away and jumped up an down. "I killed them all. I win! W00t!"
"Excuse me sir, but I'm still standing," Alexander "ooh I'm always so special" the Ruiner of Harmony, said, "and I insist that you kill me as well."
"Nope, the attacker said, I had to kill all grmphs. I killed them all but one: Chaotix. Then I attacked Chaotix, who was in fact several Chaotixes. But all Chaotixes are now dead, so I win."
"I'm also a Chaotix!" Alexander "ooh I'm always so special" the Ruiner of Harmony said, his face red, "and if you don't kill me, you will lose!"
"I beg to differ, good friend, you're an Alexander. Besides, you can't be a grmph, since you talk too much."
"Well yeah, you don't expect the host to put up with those idiotic restrictions when composing his write-up, now do you? You know how he is."
"I'm not buying it; you're an Alexander and I don't have to and I won't kill you."

"Third time lucky," the attacker said, jumping forward with his butcher knife. Surprisingly, the attacker wasn't pushed and Zack, who had been standing there grinning, suddenly realised that somebody was cutting him open.

He ran three cirkles, took a sip, then ran three cirkles again, sipped etc. Only, when he was 2,5 years old, he drank water, now he was drinking whisky.
"Why are you doing that?" somebody asked him.
"Because I'm thirsty."
"Can't you simply sit down and drink?"
"Then I wouldn't be thirsty anymore."
"How so?"
"Well, I get thirsty from running in cirkles."
"So, if you just stopped running in cirkles, then you wouldn't be thirsty again."
"Probably. Oh, but now I'm an airplane. Weeeee!"
"Can't you save yourself the hassle and just stop running in cirkles?"

His attacker came near and pierced his knife through B-Wings' chest.
"That went easy," the attacker said.
"All too easy," B-Wing replied, smiling mysteriously. "But I don't have any regrets."

"Well, so far for our super useful savior," a survivor said.

I'm extremely uncertain as to why Chaotix survived. The doctor/healer(Jolt iirc) is dead. Our glorious skull leader, who seemed to imply he was protecting Zack the nights he was attacked is also gone. None of the other grmphs lived through an attack, so why did Chaotix? It doesn't sit well with me.

Just isn't giving me anything that says townie to me. Reminds me of the recent trimafia game. Lynch him and see where we are at. Chaotix is another good lynch as well. Emulating a grmph, yet doesn't die?

Yeah I read it a while ago (year or two). I have thought about placing a role like that in one my games in the past, decided against it. I didn't remember talking with smilies from that game, I remembered it from Reenk Roink in Graffiti mafia (I think that's the game, it put the idea in my head). Still, my job was made easier with khaan easily equating :charge: and zack :pirate:. I was pretty happy with my method of getting the point across though.

Either he's being attacked by the mafia, or by a "grmph killer".
Such a role should come forward now if this is the case, and say we should lynch Chaotix.

I'm not entirely convinced by the fake grmph talk line of reasoning. Surely he could be scum or an otherwise unusual role while still having the grmph rules imposed on him like the others. At the same time, the fact remains that he survived a night kill without any apparent protection. The write-up suggests that the attacker was trying to kill grmphs, and perhaps his attacks are useless against non-grmphs. This makes sense to me, and it's suspicious. Plus, I'm no grmph so any killer who can only kill grmphs is no threat in my book. I'd prefer to focus on finding the person killing non-grmphs. Finally, I cannot help but recall the number of times when you've had a hunch, I have ignored it, and you have been right. Therefore...

FWIW, a grmph-only killer makes a lot of sense given Andres' warnings to us about time restrictions:
- the game WILL end on June 7th at the latest.
- possible twists to reach that goal are:
* extra kills for the mafia, followed by a day phase with the lynching of the top three of lynch candidates;
* the sudden emergence of an evil serial killer. Or two. Or three. Or everybody turns SK and the game ends in a spectacular blood bath.
* the mafia sees the error of its' ways and stops being evil. There will be flowers, flowers and lots of flowers. And hippies.
* the host goes mad and destroys players at random to satisfy his bloodlust
* natural disasters
* players get to choose between the plague or cholera
* something completely different.
I would guess that a grmph-only killer would qualify as a pop-up serial killer. The grmphs multiple days of public grmphing would give that serial killer a way to expedite the task and accelerate the bodycount to reach the end by June 7th. At the same time, making him ineffective against non-grmphs balances it somewhat by keeping the game from becoming a townie abattoir.

So, when the 'song' played again, Chaotix, immediately fell on his knees.
The Kangaroo danced around Chaotix; instead of killing him off mercifully with one blow, the kangaroo kept dancing until the song was finally over.
The Kangaroo, prepared himself for the final blow, but noticed Chaotix already died. Poor chap. He only lasted 27 seconds against Blue and the kangaroo.

Along with other references by Grmphs, it seems they do know far more than they let on all along. Going back to what I suggested and Zack mentioned too, I think Grmphs were neutral at best and not town aligned.
However, I do hope they are just trying to demoralise the town not the game isn't such a foregone conclusion.

That's fine. I can't speak for the others, but I perfectly understand if the grmphs were unable to give us the info we wanted due to the rules. It's more the "UR ALL DOOMED AND U SUCK AND UR GONNA DIE" that's exasperating.

That said, Csargo, being the athletic man he is, jumped on an exercise bike and started pedalling like crazy.

Csargo looked and saw the killer standing next to him. How was this possible? He was pedalling like a madman, sweating and all, and this killer kept up with him, just standing there with his hands on his back, not a single sign of effort. This man must have the physique of something, something, not natural!
Csargo pedalled even harder, the exercise bike was making strange sounds as if it was going to collapse, but Csargo kept going.
"Excuse me, dear victim, but I don't...."
"How... how,... " Csargo tried to catch his breath. "How... is this... possible?"
"Dear victim, perhaps you should try running instead, allthough..."
"Yes! That's it!" Csargo yelled and he jumped on a treadmill and started to run.
Much to his surprise, this didn't seem to work either. The killer was still keeping up with him.

"Well," the killer said, "coincidentally, I once wanted to travel towards Australia, but I had a low budget."

Then again, you do have the biggest attention grabber (ie: me) around, so I am going to foresee a foolhardly lynch attempt on me and being honest, be wary of anyone actually voting for me.
For any town elements still in the game, I will pretty much put it this way. I was inactive in this game for a week based on receiving nothing at night except some random PM from Andres pre-game and kind of forgot about it. I only realised a few days later when I wondered if it started yet and turned out it was like day 3. Since realising how much of a fool I was, I decided to plough everything into Andres' game, as he is awesome, with great writeups and I was unworthy to be even accepted into it. If I was really mafia, best for me would be to stick to the same gameplan, that would be to 'remain inactive' throughout the entire game. Suddenly having a big change of heart randomly would not make sense at all.
I am currently looking at some tried and tested methods to see if anyone picks up attention, but with the current survivors, I cannot even use the "If in doubt, it is Csargo", as he is dead. Which is actually a bad move by the Mafia, since my own attention would now be looking in their direction since I will go through all the past postings also, it makes no sense if I was mafia to actually kill TinCow and Csargo, as they would most likely pick up attention other than myself. Why would I leave myself in a game without any credible alternatives to get lynched easily? :laugh4:
I am looking through past postings at the moment, if anyone has some good theories, please let me know. :bow:

Maybe it's just me, but this post sets off my scumdar. Csargo and I had basically no suspicion on us whatsoever and we were unlikely lynches this round. That made us prime kill choices, and I personally would have been more surprised to be alive this round. That fact that Tiaexz says the exact opposite sets off alarm bells for me. Seems like fabricated surprise. Plus, the pre-emptive heavy defense before any voting has even begun is bad. He's focused exclusively on survival and is not really showing much interest in actually finding scum. Not townie behavior.

I would like to chew upon metallic beef and vote: Kumquat too. We demand some answers.
I am going with Chaotix. I am usually good at picking up scumtells with him, so here is some reasoning!
He was defending me at the start, which either means he was trying to get on my good side, or knowing I was inactive so hoped to keep me around till later in game for part of his mafia victory.
So the next day, I thought I would have him talk. So I voted ahead for him. Knowing it was a joking vote whilst I get together with the game, he simply ignored it and passed it off, hoping to lose my attention.
So I decided to play it again, get the almighty Chaotix to take some notice and voted for him again. What is surprising is that he turned around and voted for me, in an OMGUS. However, this would be conflicting with his earlier reasoning that I was inactive due to my green and simply not paying enough attention to the game. So this correct logic, voting me would have been pretty pointless as it would only be ensuring the downfall of an inactive town. As it has been mentioned in the game, the pro-town roles have already been bumped off, so logic and statistically voting for anyone else opposed to a known townie has a greater chance of a scum dying.
Then Choxorn jumps in with a bogus reasoning, Best was B-wing with this gem "Tiaexz, on the other hand, seems marginally helpful as a townie", so he actively votes some one he believes is town in defense of Chaotix.

Actually, you have yourself to blame if you wasn't guilty. You didn't contribute much or attempt to defend yourself from Pizza's or my own reasoning, you didn't give explanations even though they were open to you. You didn't vote for scumbuddy 'khaan even when Skully was pointing it out...
That is why I pointed it out and used it as an argument against Chaotix earlier. He was obviously withholding information and instead of trying to contribute, they tried to get me to shut down. :shrug:

I like to point out a recurring theme.
Along with other references by Grmphs, it seems they do know far more than they let on all along. Going back to what I suggested and Zack mentioned too, I think Grmphs were neutral at best and not town aligned.
However, I do hope they are just trying to demoralise the town not the game isn't such a foregone conclusion.

That made us prime kill choices, and I personally would have been more surprised to be alive this round. That fact that Tiaexz says the exact opposite sets off alarm bells for me. Seems like fabricated surprise. Plus, the pre-emptive heavy defense before any voting has even begun is bad. He's focused exclusively on survival and is not really showing much interest in actually finding scum. Not townie behavior.

But I do have a tendency to know what my enemy is thinking and I also act what people is called 'Scummy' in order to survive night kills, because put simply, why kill someone when you can get them lynched off? As for "my own survival", there is the fundamental issue. If there are two kills per night, there are 5 people. If I get lynched, two more innocents die. This leaves two people. This is either 1 town and 1 mafia, or 2 mafia.
Back to actually trying to find Mafia...
To sum up the people left, there is hardly nothing to go on at all. All four of them are active, but hardly contributed anything at all to the thread except for votes. This applies to BSmith and Ibn-Khaldun especially. JHT has been doing his usual brand of snarkiness and Choxorn has been contributing with his vote.
Very worse offender was indeed BSmith, he is ranked near the very bottom on overall posts and it was literially "vote: x" "vote: y" "vote: z"
So I am going to put a placeholder vote on him. Vote: BSmith

When you were inactive there were multiple scum alive and Andres always allows scum to submit orders for inactive partners, so what exactly is early game inactivity supposed to prove? I agree choxorn's defence looks shoddy, but Bsmith is ridiculously inactive even for him as mafia (though I agree he lurks more), Ibn khaldun has only professed his love for GH and is probably not mafia.

So really, it is only Beskar that is the scum. Besides the fact that weird kill choices is almost always a mafia thing. He's floundering and everything else, followed the first vote easily enough.

I agree, but I doubt Bsmith is mafia simply because he has done almost less then the minimum which is just not Bsmith. I think he's inactive rather then mafia.

Me talking little and having stupid reasons to vote for people is not a sign of me being mafia. It's a sign that I have no idea what the hell is going on. And I usually have some idea what the hell is going on when I'm mafia.
And I'm not dumb enough as mafia to repeatedly attack someone who I apparently can't kill, nor would I want someone dead that badly for no reason, whether or not they were Zack.
I kind of understand that not all of you would know my mafia behavior, as I believe this is my 25th game here and I haven't been mafia in a single one of them, but this isn't it. I am not a lurky mafia. I'm not a textwally mafia either, but I'm not a lurky mafia.
As to BSmith, he lurked about this much in a recent game at CFC in which he was technically 2/3 mafia (it was 3 games in 1, and he was mafia in 2 of them), so it's plausible he's mafia now. And his posts in that game (well, games) were pretty similar to his posts in this game, while in another recent game he played while town, he was considerably more talkative.
My money's on either BSmith or Tiaexz.

Asking if I was the mafia is a silly question considering my role (and I died night 1), I also don't know my partners, though I suspect GH and khaan may have been mafia.
However I will indulge and use a similar situation. Csargo and TC had to die, if they weren't scum. Simple. I was even thinking to myself last night that if the game wasn't over and TC was alive, he'd probably had to be scum. I thought that if he won the game, he did it expertly, and I couldn't shake this nagging feeling, because I know TC is smooth. Yet my paranoia was laid to rest when he died as I thought he would being town. Csargo also went without much attention and I had similar thoughts.
Basically if we examine the kills from the possible suspects:
Tiaezx: Kills two strong players, who have a good chance of voting him.
BSmith: Doesn't matter he is very inactive
Choxorn: Kills two strong players who do suspect him.
IK: No.
Jht: highly unlikely he would kill TC/Csargo IMO. Unlikely for him to be mafia as well (just a feeling I get to be honest, not basing it of much).
Choxorn or yourself are the best candidates. And I just see choxorn to be slightly too inactive to be lurker mafia.
Aside from a few other things, you've got the best chance of being scum.
Let's also take another road. You were the first to vote khaan, before I had posted ANY evidence whatsoever that he was scum. That screams to me like you wanted to look townie.
@Chox you do have a point above Bsmith there, but iirc he posted a bit more in those games, and he does tend to post more at cfc.
That said, I'd be surprised and disappointed if Bsmith is mafia, I just don't think it is worth going after when there is a better suspect.

Obviously I would be more focused on BSmith if he came in to vote for me, in comparison to Choxorn. Choxorn is stepping back from the debate, saying he doesn't know what is going on, thus trying to abstain/hide away.

Is it harmless? I keep reading it as "armless". And mostly armless would seem to imply that he has at least one appendage which could be classified as an arm. As for the other, rumor has it he was speaking with a cockney accent while trying to retrieve various items from a wood chipper, someone told him not to do it, but he replied "Where's the 'arm in that?" and then proceeded to answer his own question.

I agree with TinCow for calling him out and his plea to the dead is also interesting. It's either a genuine town cry for help in the face of mafia victory - OR it's a scumbag knowing that they probly only need one more bad lynch for the win. From what I've gleaaned (I've done little more than skim-read - sorry) it may not yet be Lynch or you lose, so I'd guess that Tiaexzxxz is town.

I'm reasonably certain this is wrong. There are 5 people left alive. Regardless of how many scum there are, the one or ones still alive can kill two per night. If you get it wrong here, that's 4 alive for the night phase. 2 die there, leaving 2 alive at the next day phase, of which at least 1 would be scum, and thus a scum victory. The only scenario in which this could go another day is where the scum don't kill 2 at night, which would almost certainly require a doctor or a blocker to stop one of the attacks. It doesn't seem like there is any role like that still alive.
