I am really likeing this board as it is very helpfull and has interesting topics to read.I prefer it to the other Total War board that is an ezboard forums and I not to fond of ezboard as it is not to easy to use.I like vb but most of all I really like phpbbfully modded boards.I am on 2 of them that is about Trek gaming and yes I am on other boards.I am just glad to be on this board as apposed to the ezboard forums much nicer.I just to say I glad to be a part of your community or our community.

Welcome to the Org!!! Everywhere in the Guild has great and useful items, from modding to strategy. The best thing to do is just check out each one of the rooms here. Even check out some of the stuff you might think you would not be interested in. When I first joined it was mainly to argue politics back when the Tavern was accessible to all. I did not utilize the Guild as much as most. Just kkep checking things out and if you have any questions, there is always someone here to help you find what you need!!!

For those folks concerned about the size of our PM mailboxes: we get about 20-30 new registerees per day, each with their own PM in- and out-boxes. To save on bandwidth for our host (who hosts us for free), we keep the boxes sort of small, compared to some other paid-for sites.

When your box is full, look near the bottom of the PM list, and see "selected posts" and a drop-down menu. You can delete some or all your PM's from there, or (if you want to save them) save as TXT, etc files. Either way, that will open you PM box up for more traffic.

I know this sounds like your scouting camp leader, but it's what makes this .org run. There are enough flame houses out there where you can troll to your heart's content. This is a community, and we hope you'll get into the spirit, keep your act clean and wait till you're admitted to the Backroom where the gloves come off and... well, nuff said.

@NeonGod, welcome amateur historian. I'm the real thing (historian) but I never stop learning. We're developing a nice new thread in the Monastery forum with links to history resources on the Web. We don't use post count. We look at level of contribution, ability to "play well with others" , and continuing interest (measured by repeat visits to the site). In addition to running their own forums, our 30-member volunteer staff keeps a special eye out for new members and their contributions.

So, how can you influence that process? Keep doing what you're doing: visit often, contribute or help where you can, be friendly. It will happen.

I was so impressed by Katank's Early Turkish blitz that I felt I had to join if only to say well done. ~:cheers: Please also permit me the honour of a bow to the noble Froggbeastegg for her unsurpassed scholarship; your work has proved most useful, especially in encouraging me to move from a production line approach to my armies to a valour based one. Well, I have been here before, although the last time, according to this, was the 6th June 2004, which is actually quite some time ago. I was in charge of some wierd hybrid game where people took up roles as governors/generals etc of different provinces in MTW. Of course, personal problems and some unrelated problems forced me to quit that idea, which was annoying as it was going well, but as I have gotten over them (mostly) I have more time to dedicate to this site.

Greetings to all. I have been quietly browsing this forum for about 6 months now. I am in debt to Frogbeastegg for her comprehensive and eminently readable RTW Guide. Other threads started by many others have also provided me with useful information. My main purpose in breaking my silence is to thank the Guild and its members for sharing such a large body of generally excellent and useful RTW information.

By way of brief history, I am an old time internet gamer and an even "older timer" Avalon Hill and SPI war-gamer (the Squad Leader Series, Panzer Leader, etc). I enjoy real-time strategy games, delighting as much in the learning & employing of tactics as I do in actually winning the game - although winning is ALWAYS the preferred outcome! I enjoy RTW and play it online regularly, although I do so under a different ID (that I will be happy to share in order to arrange for a game).

Man, you'll be buying those other games before the next Christmas comes along. Five bucks now buys you S:TW/MI (Shogun + Mongol Invasion) and M:TW/VI (Medieval: Total War/Viking Invasion) won't be much more expensive soon. Check out the mods on the .org as well.

Hello, everyone! I've been a Playstation gamer for years, but I just recently got a Dell PC powerful enough to give PC gaming a try. In the last two weeks I've gotten Morrowind and RTW, and both are sucking up so much of my time I 've hardly touched my PS2 lately.

I near Baltimore, MD and I'm a mainframe programmer/analyst with the US federal government.

I've always wanted to give strategy games a try, and I nearly bought C&C Generals (a modern day wargame seemed more appealing) but the reviews for RTW were so overwhelming, I had to go with it, and I'm glad I did. I'm still struggling through the prologue (being a first-time RTS player), but I'm having a great time with it!

My Dell is a 3GHz, 512MB machine that came with a ATI Radeon X300SE video card which seems to be doing an impressive job with the game so far. The only problem I've encountered is that the intro sequence freezes up on me every time, but gameplay is OK. I wonder how much the game will improve if I upgrade my video card?

Lastly, I thought I'd mention that my username comes from the the code for George S. Patton's 3rd army headquarters!

I think it is initially 200 and 400 and so on and so forth (but don't quote me on that). However, Tosa is implementing a new system where you can use your own personal avatar. Go to the Watchtower and look up the thread "Avatar selection" and post if you agree with the proposed maximum size and dimensions (as well as add any comment you can think of). ~:)

Hello everyone, I joined the .org a couple of days ago and am very happy to have done so.My questions were answered very quickly by the other members and I want to thank all of them for doing so.Now then a little section on my TW preferences:my favourite game is Shogun due to nostalgic reasons,my favourite unit is the battlefield ninja.I haven't played Rome yet,but the improvements on the campaign map seem very nice.I have heard some complaints about the battle map and I can imagine that it must indeed be annoying not to have a speed slider,but that shouldn't take away too much of the fun!Anyway , I love TW and will never stop playing it!

I've been posting for some time now but have failed to introduce myself.

Thanks to Drisos for pointing out this lapse. I've been playing R:TW MP for a couple of months and since looking at the forums for the other two total war games blew the dust off the covers and have recently started playing them online too.

I've also signed up to the Code of Honour in the R:TW multiplayer forum.

One option if you use Netscape (I'm not sure about Explorer but prolly the same) is to use the dropdown menu - under Edit is the option Find in this page type in your name and hit enter.

The other option is to create a signature that is easy to find as you quickly scroll - I made mine in bold type using an somewhat rare font, so I can find my posts to see what the replies after it are.

Hello Quietus,my name means four times Domi,where Domi is short for Dominique.Maybe you now want to know why I call myself that way?It's very simple:when I had to find a nick for another site I tried domi but it was taken.Then I tried domidomi and domidomidomi but they were also taken.I didn't even try domidomidomidomi,instead I used viermaaldomi and I've been using that nick ever since as I am sure that it isn't taken yet ~:) .
