To be frank, Koreans admit the US is much better than their own country. I understand the Koreans' anger at Bush's comments, but there are actually other things about themselves that Koreans are not proud of. The problem is, Americans do not know how to win an argument with Koreans because they lack the knowledge about the situation.

How am I provoking anything?
The thread title asks...

Why Hate America??

So i answerd.

some dont like the answer so resort to attacking me...
others who dont like the answer take a difrent aproach.

never the less the question has been answerd.
And it's not my problem if the aswer isnt apretiated. im not saying im any better than any one.
Simply answering a question.

Like i Initialy said....

"Ask a silly question...."

prehaps i could have worded it to start

In general americans (as a whole not individuals)
are VIEWED to be...

but i doubt that would have made any diference to the responce

P.s
has any one here ever been stung by a jell-o fish ?

p.p.s

"Country ham"
does not look like any bacon ive seen :)

I didn't read too many of your posts, but I hope you know not all Americans are arrogant and ignorant. If you don't then you yourself are pretty ignorant...

I would have to agree with you that much of the population is fairly ignorant. Many are arrogant too, but it's a human problem, not an American one...

I hate no edit button :(

Any way..

I should have probably said this sooner..

In all probabilaty if i walked around america pointing at people and saying your ok to the ones who are infact ok.

it would probably sound like this.

Your ok.
your ok.
your ok.
you look like a freak but i guess your ok.
your ok.
your ok...

but then if i steped backed and viewd all the people as 1 group.
id haft to say.
You lot are messed up..

Slightly incorrect on the trespassing law. You have to kill them, wounding can be considered cruel and unusual and they can sue. I'm sure you've heard of thieves injuring themselves in a home their stealing from, suing and ending up with the deed to the house. Unlike the killing a welshmen law, this one is not completely out dated, it would still more then likely be enforced as the owners right to defend his land. That has got to be the greatest law ever invented though I must admit.

Why do many people and/or nations 'hate' America? Simple really, we're the number one economic/military power in the world and the number two doesn't even come close. This simple truth is the cause of much jealousy and fear for many nations. It doesn't matter to people that we are, by choice, a relatively harmless nation of extraordinary means. After all, despite what many lefties in the Org might think we haven't followed in Rome's footsteps by embarking on some whirlwind tour of conquest and imperialism. Armed with a massive military and the atomic bomb it would have been extremely easy for us to 'go Roman' on everyone's collective asses after WWII but we just weren't interested in putting the rest of the world under our heel.

One thing people do hate us for is the massive exportation of much of our unbelievably worthless popular culture. I find this rather interesting because unlike a genuine conquest or crusade, we're not forcing anyone to watch our television shows or listen to our music and yet countless people around the world do so voluntarily. And yet amongst those who do crave American culture you will find many who hate our guts for making them feel compelled to do so!

On a more basic and Darwinian level you need to realize that everyone loves and loves to hate the alpha of the group. Human beings are primates, not pink fluffly spiritual beings wandering through the ether. Like most mammals we're beasts of hierarchy; we thrive on interpersonal competition and the eternal, unending struggle that decides who is on the top, who is on the bottom and everyone in between. Who happens to be the alpha has no bearing on whether or not there are people wishing for his downfall. However, how we conduct ourselves as the world's alpha power does determine just how many people wish for our downfall and how far they will go to see it happen.

America isn’t hated because it’s a world power!
I remember not les then a decade ago people here where looking up to America.
And I believe that was the mentality over the entire European continent.

For a number of reasons that looking up changed to dislike.
Especially with the recent events.
The USA stepped on a number of toes.
Like Kyoto!
Like constantly sticking you’re noses in to affairs that aren’t yours to judge nor solve!
Like going to war when the united nations told you not to!
Do you really expect that the world would agree with that kind of arrogance?

Just because you have the power to kick as, doesn’t give you the right to it.

I know the European nations and many others did al these things to.
But these aren’t the dark ages no more.
People around the globe are getting sick of those endless wars.
And now thnx to modern communication they can make the world listen to these voices.
Yet America is still not receiving this message.

So what you got in America is a powerful nation that does what it pleases, when it pleases and how it pleases.
This is a very good soil for growing hate my friends.

Yet I don’t hate America just yet.
I still look at it as our western brother.
I just hope that somehow they will go back to the USA it was 60 years ago.

Might as well place this here.

I do not always agree with the US. Sometimes they can be difficult friends to have.

But the strain of, frankly, anti-American feeling in parts of European and world politics is madness when set against the long-term interests of the world we believe in.

The danger with America today is not that they are too much involved. The danger is they decide to pull up the drawbridge and disengage. We need them involved.
You tell 'em, Tony! :2thumbsup:

Blair: anti-Americanism is madness (http://politics.guardian.co.uk/iraq/story/0,,1740613,00.html)

The danger is they decide to pull up the drawbridge and disengage. We need them involved.
I wonder if we could use that to our advantage...

"Give us oil or we'll pull up our drawbridge!"

EU: "No! Not that! Anything but that!"

:idea2:

Upxl - I cannot recommend Just A Girl (nor Shambles ~;)) as a role model for writing nor politics. :inquisitive:
