Wow, your taking it veeeeeeeeeeeeery slowly.......
This makes it funner, especially when you get Established AI Factions that are actually able to fight you.
On that note I'l probably have to pull out of Greece in my Romani campaign, I have a vicious fight with Kart-Hadast coming up, which may be a bit of a pain. They have three stacks (known) available to fight, one on Korsim fighting my garrison legion, (full of elite African pikemen.)
The Consular legion just deployed and is heading into battle.
Yeah, i surprised myself actually when i realised what the year was, in my romani camaign i've basically conquered everything north and west of italy bar the british isles and all of the islands in the med bar kypros and all this by the year 230bce. I'm enjoying my baktrian one more though so i think i will start another romani one after i feel i'm done with the baktrian one.
@Teucer:
This looks very promising.
Looking forward to further screens (and of course a beta). :2thumbsup:
Hayasdan campaign. 270BC-210BC
EB 1.2 on BI
This has been a pretty fun campaign so far and it looks like I'm going to finish this one. I'm busy with the persian reforms right now.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
-Aedui: Won the Aedui-Averni civilwar, held against the Romani, but eventually lost against the Sweboz juggernaut.
-Arche Seleukia: they ignored me untill I broke our alliance when I completed the pan-caucasus reforms. At that point, the Arche declared war and started besieging only Armavir (while ignoring all other cities). This enabled me to easily amass an army and attack them (targetting the cities needed for the first Persian reforms, cutting the Arche in half).
While still mighty, the Archy isn't much of threat anymore; they did get the Cataphract Reforms and have started recruiting Thorakitai Agematos Basilikou in Syria, but their most developed cities (those in their western holdings) are - besides me - also fighting against Pontus, Ptolemaioi, Makedonia & Koinon Hellenon.
Their eastern holdings - while also not that well developed are also fighting against Baktria and the terrible Saka.
-Averni: Lost their chance at writing history and is now trying to survive. Funny bit of AI diplomacy: when the Averni began to lose against the Aedui, they became the protectorate of the Romani. When the Lusotannan came and started pushing the Romani back, the Averni became their protectorate. And now that the Sweboz have arrived, guess who the Averni turned to this time for protection? I'm actually impressed by this.
-Baktria: did pretty well in the beginning, but got overun by Saka. Attempted several times to get the Indian cities, but failed against the strong garrisons. Baktria itself did rebel from the Saka back to Baktria several times, but that was more of a curse then a blessing - especially the last rebellion as that one gave them a halfstack of Armoured Indian Elephants (!!) sending their already weak economy to the grave. I'm expecting Saka to kill them off soon.
-Casse: Haven't done anything special.
-Epeiros: Fiercly fighting for dominion over Greece with Makedonia and Koinon Hellenon, the fighting has also spilled out of Greece actully and onto Asia Minor!
-Getai: Got a rude awakening from Makedonia. When the Maks had more pressing concerns to the south, the Getai expanded a bit, but soon got a bloody nose from the Romani to the west and is now fighting with the Sauromatae to the north; no clear winners there yet.
-Karthadastim: Got kicked out of Iberia. Entered in a bloody war with the Romani over Sicily. At some point they remember having boats and invaded central Italy several times (joygasm!). Eventually they fell before the mighty Romani war machine.
They then took avantage of Ptolemaioi's distraction to the east and invaded them, seem to be doing pretty well.
-Koinon Hellenon: Took avantage of Makedonia's going-up-north-and-leave-our-soft-belly-unprotected-strategy. Is now fighting with both Makedonia and Epeiros over Greece with no victory in sight.
-Lusotannan: United Iberia and kicked some Romani ass. It'll be interesting to see if they can win against the Sweboz.
-Makedonia: Went up North in a badly prepared manner and allowed Epeiros and the Koinon Hellenon to become threats. Is now busy paying for miscalculations from the past, more precisely; they're losing, but it seems they do have a stronghold in Asia Minor that can hold out.
-Pahlava: *sigh* oh, the disapointment. When they went on their "Nomad! Whoo!" spree and started taking the steppes, I was happy; I could already picture them attacking me from the North! Then their conquered holdings rebelled back to Sauromatae and the Pahlava AI seems unable to deal with that, it just kinda died. No moving armies, etc. Anyone know of way to get them going again?
-Pontus: Doing pretty well. Became my allies once the Arche declared war on me and remained friendly. I am however getting tired of their diplomates constantly trying to bribe my cities, so I'm going to conquer the treacherous scum. I already have my Arkahen Arkah make a tour of his realm together with an entourage of assasins, killing all Pontus diplomates they're coming across.
-Ptolemaioi: I am at a loss of words at how poorly they are doing. I expected them to become huge once I took the Arche's strength away, but instead this happened.
-Romani: did pretty well, got their polybian reforms as a reward for winning their punic wars. Are now bearly holding their own against the barbarian onslaught.
-Saba: Doing pretty okay. They maybe just field skirmishers and other light troops, but they're fielding a lot of them!
-Saka: Has become the mayer eastern powerhouse; constant rebellions are wrecking them however. It'll be interesting to see if they can overcome that, or if the Arche can mount an effective attack against them now that they're somewhat weaker.
-Sauromatae: Got overun to the east by Pahlava, rebellion saved them however. Now the behemoth from the steppes is busy attacking rebels, Getai and Makedonia to the west, all of those are holding the Sauromatae back however.
-Sweboz: Ah, the european powerhouse. Nothing I can say about them really.

Romani 188 BC.
Finally getting to the end of the Second punic war. Hannibal is the current Carthagian Faction leader, but I think he's come a bit to late to help much...
Second Makedonian War is about to begin, probably because Makedon got thrown out of Anatolia.
Bactria... Excuse me while I beg for mercy.
My Pontos campaign.
Early on the seleucids and ptoly's became allies, but thankfully the seleucids always accepted my ceasfire offers, and after a short blitz of tarsos and antiocheia i managed to get some money, and claim the crimean peninsula...
the strongest faction is probably macedon, who were my allies, but then backstabed me... now i'm allied with almost everyone around macedonia, since they all fear them... when they backstabed me i quickly conquered ancyra, nicomedia and ipsos, but lost tarsos...
I just won the last year probably the greatest battle in my carrer. The macedonian FL suddenly attacked cheronesos and i had a preety weak army guarding it but somehow managed to defeat their really awesome army. They had 3 units of thraikan rhompaioi or sth, 4 of reformed phalanx 2 bosphoran archer + 125 men of the faction leader with 3 silver chevrons... I had 12 men left standing, including 2 family members... If i had lost the battle i would probably lose the game, since the crimean is an extremly important income source for me. It was probably the greatest battle i ever won
P.S. i've never seen the seleucids take Chingu:clown:

I'm kinda amazed the KH have managed to survive with Makedon so dominant!
Sounds like you had one of those truly epic victories anubis88 - gotta love 'em :smash:
Anubis, yor map is very weird. Mine looks nothing like it, i'm talking about the terrain. Why is that? Is it just the detail of the campaighn map?
Oh and Rilder would you tell me what the diplomatic situation is on your campaign?
Also I would love to be able to fight against such a worthy buch of enemies, look at the getai, the lusos, the sweboz and the ptolies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Would you please upload that save? I usually get too tired too soon of a campaign to actually get strong enemies. Please!
Diplomacy: Bactria is at war with Saba and Saka, + one other I think. (not Ptolmaios)
I'm at war with Carthage, Makedonia, and Averni, while Allied with Epeiros and Lusotannon.
Dunno the complete diplomatic situation though.

I was busy pushing the Maks northwards(s?) around 260 when the Epirotes attacked my garrision at Rhodes. :smash: They failed hardly but because I gave them some 40k Mnai in 270BC to hold back the red hydra - they also failed hardly :furious3: - I took the chance to get Ambrakia and their main-Mics. After that, they pushed north and got those two illyrian provinces. Just last round the stupid Syracuseans rebelled to them but I had just destroyed everything there, because the :furious3: romans made my days with (Ceasefire-TradeRights >>> attack Syracus)³.
The Maks on the other hand hardly tried to get Pergamon as it was independent while conquering Byzantion, Nikaia and last round Tylis. The annoying AS stealed it in front of them ( btw. they also attempted to get Rhodos :inquisitive: but two stacks were owned by my navy while a third with 5 phalanxes :wall: was destroyed by a mixed 2/3 stack of silverchevroned levy hoplites with one FM and one unit of ClassicHoplites / two akontistai and 2 archers :whip:.) and now I think they gonna attack me soon. Hopefully I can resist those phalanxes <----<(-_-;<)
Oh and then, to finish my briefing, I thought of conquering Kallatis to get those SkythianHA's but there is a downfighted but silverchevroned 3/4 stack with the SauroLeader inside  so I'm currently preparing a raid at the city northwards to set some confusion and then pulling the Sauro-garrision out of MY Kallatis
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Look at the Epirotes and Maks. One round before I took the screenshot, I thought "ohh my, hopefully they don't attack me." But as one can see, some Aiakides?!? guy is attempting to get them their capital back. :dizzy2:
as they said, i changed to the RS textures to have a fresh look at the game:yes:

https://i277.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1239654776
Decided to simulate an early collapse of the Arche, RP'd that Antiochus Soter kind of went a little senile in his old age and made some really bad decisions which basically lost most of the empire and alienated most of the old client kingdoms (let everything but antiocheia rebel at the start). Antiochus II (Theodorus) now rules in all but name - keeping the father stuck in Antiocheia, and am starting to re-assert Syrian influence (taken Damaskos and Galatia). Looking forward to progressing with this campaign :smash:
hehe, Elcmar - quiete an interesting idea but i wonder how much dept you will be in about 10years ... :sweatdrop:

https://img6.imageshack.us/img6/9861/map217.jpg
the Yellow death has almost crushed the Selceudics, that's why I'm kicking their ass very hard now so they'll learn their place.
The AI in Europe is doing really awesome only Eiporos has been destroyed the rest of ht efctions are alive and kicking.
I've to say I'm now sharing a border with pontos, Makedonia and HS for a decade or so and they still haven't attacked me very weird. And Pontos being my ally hasn't back stabbed me yet.
Heh i've already had to give myself some debt-clearing money just to keep the story going, but things are picking up, albeit slowly - the ptolies were nice enough to offer me a ceasefire, trade rights, and some mnai - probably felt sorry for me :laugh4: Also helps that i'm keeping a small enough army at the moment - making full use of the native phalanxes and peltastai!
https://img2.imageshack.us/img2/4076/0006rsx.jpg
Northern Front (Formerly the Getic Front):
The Getai hold one settlement after a massive pincer offensive with combined Macedonian and steppe forces. Meanwhile, the Germans seized the rebel settlements that I didn't. Furthermore, Sarmatian raids have started, but are easily repulsed. Due to the German and Sarmatian threats, I have to keep three large armies in the former Getic homeland.
Western Front:
The Lusotann attacked as predicted, and the Alps have turned into the Battle of the Somme.
Constant battles and sieging of Segesta in a complete stalemate are the order of the day.
This stalemate will soon be broken, as I have sent both Macedonian and steppe armies to the front.
The steppe forces have just entered the Italian province, and the Macedonian forces are in Illyria nearby. I expect to take Massalia within three seasons.
Eastern Front:
Captured Antioch and Sidon from AS, two turns after they took them from the Ptollies.
Lost them to rebellion two years afterwards after I failed to reinforce them.
Mazaka was taken by a fullstack Pontic army after a long, crippling series of sieges by AS.
Another wave of armies is being trained in the Eastern Aegean regions at present to take Pontus down, as the AS threat is now minimal, thanks to Pontic and Hai actions.
Elsewhere:
Ptollies and Carthage are locked in a titanic war in Africa, as the screenshot shows.
Saka, Parthia and Bactria are in stalemate with only the AS benefitting.
The Saba are strangely stagnant, which is weird considering that my diplomats spot Saba armies as deep as Babylon on a regular basis.
IrishHitman:
How did the Swêboz capture Eburonum?? :inquisitive: Did you help them or did the "roving defender" commit suicide? I've never yet seen any faction (except myself playing Swêboz) seize Eburonum.
After a long time of EB absence, i tried a KH campaign
My main roleplay objective is to support the free poleis. When Emporoion and Halikarnassos rebelled, i shipped forces there to secure their "independant" status. On one such voyage, a large force got stranded on sicily, revenging hiero of syracuse and just now took lilibeo, after defeating numerous carthagian armies. PLayed on VH/H, every battle is quite costly, especially against those damn elite phalanxes.

Standings in 219 bc:
(currently at war with carthage in iberia, ptolemaic egypt in asia minor and hayasdan over trapezous)
Wow...looks like a titanic struggle is brewing in the East, schlappi. Pahlava all the way down into the Arabian peninsula??!! I'd love to see their battles with the Bactrians.
schlappi: I like the Roman expansion! :D

My Pontos campaign 180 BC.
https://img21.imageshack.us/img21/20...4231227337.png
The farthest i've ever played a campaign. Playing with BI, it's extremely fun. In italy rome lost almost all of the southern peninsula and Sicily from Carthage, but then i gave them a lot of money, and they kicked the carthies back. The fun thing is that rome controled all of sicily, corsica, and sardinia, but the carthaginians launched a massive 4 full stack force back at them and destroyed everything in their path.
In the west the Lusotanna are monsters, but carthage manages to get invasions at them with the hopes of conquering parts of the peninsula. In the East the first superpower was macedonia, conquering everything in their path. They've left the getai with one province, but i gave them a lot of money also, and after some macedonian city's rebeled due to my spies they've conquered them. I also managed to pillage the coast of Greece and give the regions to rome. Hopefully the romans will start a massive war with macedonia so that i may finally have my Mithridatic wars:2thumbsup:.
In the further east the Yellow death is destroying everything in it's path. I'm hoping that by giving money to their adversaris they may fight back... Armenia backstabbed and pissed me off so i launched a huge invasion and finally left Kotais and Trapezous (which was mine from before) hugely fortified so they don't start any funny things. Interestingly the Ptolys keep attacking me through antiocheia which i gave to Armenia. They're allies and seemengly have the military acces.
I left the KH only with pergamon to represent the Kingdom of Pergamon, but then Rhodes and Krete rebelled to them from Ptolys and Carthage, and later i saw that in carthage they have 3 full stacks, all with at least 4 experience mainly of spartan hoplites, phalangites and thorakites. If they start a war with macedonia they will probably destroy them. Incredible.
For my part i tried to expand as little as possible, just enough to have the money to hold my many fronts.
Update, Map in 211 b.c.
Rome took Syracuse and Lilibeo from me and Carthage steamrolled the iberian peninsula, including my well-sized and decently defended polis of Emporoion. It will be a long time before i can take revenge, since i am busy fighting Macedon (side by side with my allies, the Epirotes), Pontos, Hayasdan and Ptolemaic Egypt.
https://img145.imageshack.us/img145/6549/kh211.jpg
Playing the last eight years took longer than the whole game before and every battle takes careful planning to minimize losses of remote armies.
KH is quite popular faction I see...
This is my old(I think I started it in January!:dizzy2:) KH campaign I recently picked up.
https://i259.photobucket.com/albums/.../EB/kh_252.jpg
I have to add that Epeiros was my ally from the start until they backstabbed me couple turns ago. I have fought many wars against Makedonia and just recently sided with them only because I wanted them to keep Epeiros busy. So much for that idea... I should have burned Demetrias when I had the chance! Now Makedonia recruits it's Peltastai Makedonikoi and Pezhetairoi and it's a bit difficult to fight against them with ... Hoplitai Haploi! :wall:
AS is a pain in the ***. They just keep on sending their small armies against me but then again what armies they are. Argyraspidai, Pezhetairoi and the like!! NB! Never trust AS and sack Antiocheia as soon as possible!
And to make thing even more interesting I have to fight against Pontus too!
And you people say that RTW AI is stupid! :clown:
Now at 248bc in that campaign
https://i277.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1240615682
Theodorus has been busy!
Well this is what happens when you leave a huge power vacuum in the east
Pahlava, Baktria, Hayasdan, and the Saka - Pahlava, Baktria and Hayasdan were quick to gobble up all of the former AS territories, i'm currently engaged in a guerrilla war with Hayasdan around Assyrie - they seem content to maul themselves attacking me over the bridge in the south of the province.
Ptolemaioi - was at peace with them until the mid 260's or so when they decided to send a halfstack to besiege antiocheia, it's taken until now to push them out of anatolia completely and further south in egypt (though they could undo all my hard work in egypt quite quickly because my mostly machimoi army is fairly depleted and i'm low on cash)
Asia Minor - Used my Galatian client king and his army to secure most of the 'spare' rebel towns, the Galatikoi during the Ptolemaioi war. The KH, in their infinite wisdom, decided to attack me on Krete, the turn after my 3/4 stack landed back in Lydia - ended up taking Sparte from the KH and RPing it as an independent allied city state to the AS.
Hellas - Epeiros (in blue) are dominant, although the Makedones have several fullstacks maintaining the current status quo. The Makedones (my long time allies) also own Rhodos and have a stack of crap sitting around there.
Elsewhere - The Sweboz are slowly massing stacks - as usual. My allies the Aedui are winning in Gaul and successfully holding off the Romani. The Carthies are expanding in Africa, and declaring war/ceasefiring with the Romani every other turn
Right. I think i should shut up now :laugh4:
I didn't help them.
I have a theory regarding how they were able to take it...
The Swezboz didn't have to deal with the Aedui/Arverni as they were too busy with themselves, my Italian armies, and the Lusotann (whom Gaul eventually fell to). They've built up a large amount of stacks that just walk around picking off random independent settlements in their path.

Pontos 183bc
https://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g...5/Image2-4.jpg
Continued my invasion of egypt, hoping to take the rest of their settlements in the south and leave the western ones as a buffer state. After that i plan to raise an army in ethiopia and launch a punitive expedition against the Saba who have been attacking my cities in the Levant.
Currently also at war with the Arche, who seem content with fighting the Pahlava (with neither getting anywhere) and have left me alone and the Sewboz who sent a stack from Gawjam Bastarnoz to attack Kallatis, my army form Chersonesos responded quickly and those silly unarmoured northmen were slaughtered by my massed Bosphorian archers. I am currently marching north to capture the city teach them a lesson.
The only other thing of note is the Lusotann who are tearing into the Romanoi at a frightening pace. Not looking forward to confronting them.

The Romaioi are behaving in a totally retarded way. So far I've been very lenient with them, but I'm getting angry (guess who had to trigger the March of Time reforms himself ~ instead of having to wait for the Romaioi who were busy losing to Epeiros)...
I've bribed Sparte :laugh4:(including a Spartan governor), Pantikapaion (from the Eleutheroi because I had too much money), Kallatis (the denizens were in constant upheaval against their Getai overlords, so I stepped in), Roma+Capua from Epeiros (to give them back to the Retardoi).
Really like the black colour theme:verycool: I'm the centerpiece of an obscenely powerful alliance which includes Lusotana, Qart-Hadast, Aedui, Casse, Sauromatae, Sab'yn, Pahlava and Baktria.
Edit: I'm sorry, couldn't figure out how to make the pictures larger except by clicking at them.
Update, SPQR 184 BC
https://i41.tinypic.com/2znvont.jpg
The Limes is constantly assaulted by Germani (I like these historical accuracies but It is a bit tiring play as defender siege after siege each turn :dizzy2:)
Aegyptus is almost subjugated. Ptolemaic Empire is divided in two pieces and it is no more a danger.
Dacia is also almost pacified. (the area required to roman conditions, I have no interest in the rest).
But there are still problems in Iberia, a long swap war that I think is going now in roman favour, anyway Carthago and Lussotana are defending well his territories.
Saba is knocking in the back door also, I need a campaign to solve it.
About the rest, I think Pahlava will be a hard enemy :laugh4:, fear the pink death. Also Hayasdan is hard. They both have his own empire in the East. I like this "2 worlds" perspective in the game.

The years between 220-200 were really fun. Epeiros first chased the Romans out of Italy, only to chased out (and exterminated!) by Carthage. Other tendencies, the smelly Brown Death is at it again, with little signs of slowing down. I have had a living hell against the AS, who has been sending full stacks after stack towards my indian provinces, despite my efforts to maintain a peace. I have been trying to break AS alliances to the Ptolies, Makedones and Pontos, but with little or no effect.
When the coffers are running low, I usually send out a fleet with an army to plunder coastal cities. All of Arabia has been visited, along with the Ptolemaioi coast and AS settlements.

Makedonia (Me): Since my last update in 255 BC, I kicked Epeiros out of Italy, began a long and bloody war with the AS over Asia Minor and Syria, and pushed the Northern border up to the Danube. I think I might soon invade Italy now that Rome is so weakened.
Lusotannan: They seemed to be going into the brown-death mode until they started a war with Carthage and lost some of their Iberian holdings.
Aedui/Arverni: Aedui seemed to have the upper hand in Gaul, but then the Arverni came back. Now it seems like Gaul is about equally divided between Rome, Carthage, Luso's and them.
Casse: Standard expansion
Sweboz: Standard expansion, though I was surprised they managed to take those two heavily gaurded Alpine towns.
Carthage: This is the strongest AI Carthage I have ever seen. Despite being kicked out of Sicily, the conquered all of their side of Africa, half of Spain, the French coastline and are now in the process of conquering Italy.
Rome: At one point they controlled all of Italy plus most of Gaul, but have since declined due to a combination of Luso's, Aedui, Arverni, Carthage, and Epeiros. They seem to be doomed now.
Getai: I just recently concluded a war with them, taking their territories south of the Danube. They must have tried to take that Sauromatae coastal town at least 20 times by now, but they keep constantly failing.
KH: I have been really impressed by the KH. After Trapezous rebelled to them, they launched an invasion on the Crimea and took it! They did not take it with rebellions at all.
Epeiros: After being kicked out of Greece, they set up a new kingdom in Sicily (with no help from me) and have been involved in an on-again, off-again war with Rome, at one point holding all of Magna Graecia plus Capua and Arpi.
Ptolemaioi: First time I have seen them NOT go into yellow death mode.
AS: First time I have seen them go into gray-death mode, until I took Asia Minor and Syria from them. Then they launched a semi-successful campaign against Hayasdan. They are still doing quite well in the East though.
Saba: Standard expansion.
Hayasdan: They seem to be interested in nothing more than conquering the Steppes, even leaving that Seleukid settlement right in the middle of their territory undisturbed.
Sauromatae: I was surprised to see them expand all the way down the Black Sea coast. Other than that, standard expansion
Pahlava: After being kicked out of their homeland, they went north and became a Steppe faction, switching places to some degree with the Saka. But now that India has rebelled to them and they lost one of their steppe territories, they are divided into 3 mini-kingdoms.
Saka: They went south and conquered Pahlava and Baktria, lost their northern territories to Pahlava and recently lost their southeastern territories to a resurgent Baktria.
Baktria: Once on the verge of annihilation, they have come back to become the most powerful kingdom in the east.
Due to a recurring CTD I've had to start my SPQR campaign again, so here it is

Currently at war with the Lusotana and holding the line of the river Erbo in defence, not sure if I'm going to invade them now or wait to see if Carthage will move against them as well.
In gaul it seems my allies the Arverni are losing but they are not out of the fight yet and still have a lot of full stacks milling around.
The Sweboz and Casse don't seem to be up to much.
The Getai have carved out a nice kingdom for themselves and are currently fighting the Sauromatae for the northern Black sea coast whilst maintaining peace with Epiros who have been busy fighting Makedon and Pontos (another of my allies).
The KH were kicked out of hellas pretty early on but have now managed to grab a foothold in asia minor at the expense for the Ptolemaioi who have nearly the whole eastern med basin as their own.
The AS has collapsed fairly spectaculary and now only hold their core cities and a couple of distant outposts, it remains to be seen if they can survive.
The Pahlava and Baktrains after forming their formidable empires are now feeling the heat from the Saka expansion and have formed an alliance against them, but are still losing ground.
Saba has been quietly taking over the arabian peninsula and apart from the occasional spat with the Ptolemaioi have been peacable.
Here's my Pontos campaign (with BI.exe)when i stopped playing it at 157BC. I stopped playing it becouse although i gave rome a lot of land they still played retarted. They had all of their armies at the north doing nothing while macedonia slowly attacked them, and they've even left some home provinces rebel to rebels like Mediolanum. They also got the augustan reform a long time ago, making my Mithridatic wars just a dream. Lusotanna and the Ptolemies became monsters, while macedon was a medium power. The game just wasn't fun anymore.
https://i596.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1241608377
And here's my new campaign with my old love the Seleucids. I love the fact that rome is doing so awesome without any of my help. The KH really annoys me since it attacks my cities in micra asia all the time, while in the East Parthia besieges my frontier cities every turn. I keep holding them off, but i don't know for how long i will manage to do that:embarassed:
I was absolutly delighted when saba took from me jerusalem. Now i have a buffer between me and the ptolies, however, they still don't want peace.
Fine by me:laugh4:

I've lost patience with several factions, including the insolent Getai and of course the Romaioi. Qarthadast attacked me so I seized the opportunity to take all their provinces in Sikelia plus Sardin and Korsim. ATM I'm besieging Barbaropolis (for the third time, in order to upgrade the Governor's palace and the city walls; then I'll perhaps leave it again so that the Romaioi can build their highways in Latium...) and moving in to take Bocchoris (on Mallorca).
The Lusotannan, Aedui and Swêboz are the dominating "Barbarian" powers now and have forced Rome and Carthage out of their respective zones of influence. The Arverni meanwhile refuse to die and occasionally even take a settlement from the Swêboz (and lose it again afterwards).
The Casse are apparently hibernating, as they are wont to.
The East is divided between the two other-than-me superpowers: Pahlava and Ptolemaioi. The pathetic rest of the AS struggles in Mikra Asia against an alliance of Pontos and KH. I've recently attacked Pontos by lifting their siege on the last AS settlement.
I've also sent my best army on a rescue mission to prevent the destruction of the Indo-Hellenic Kingdom of Sattagydia, formerly Baktria. On the way to India I pillaged Memphis (because my fleet wouldn't have been able to pass by otherwise).

Just a few comments:
Qarthadastim - wow. They blitzed their way through the Italic Peninsula in a matter of a few years. Currently they have quite a few full-stacks sitting in the Po Valley.
Romani - where are they, you might ask.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The first faction to suffer this fate, I might add. Pushed out of their homelands by the Qarthadastim, then mauled by the Lusotannan (who took their three last settlements in Gaul).
Epeiros - strange place to find them, you would think. Indeed, another AI blitz, this time by KH, who appeared to be hellbent on destroying Epeiros. I and the KH were at peace for more than 10 years (while sharing a border of 4 provinces) with nary a word between us as KH poured all of its troops north.
AS - they appeared to be winning decisively in the war against the Ptollies, but then the Ptollies somehow made a comeback and beat back the AS to a small foothold.
Overall, a rather bizarre (and enjoyable) campaign.
Here's my Seleucid update, playing VH/M, BI.exe, year 227 BC
https://img33.imageshack.us/img33/16...5171744466.png
The major differences in my empire were the conquering of Mytilene, Pergamon, Zadrakata, Asaak and Baktra. I Installed client rulers in the first two for roleplaying reasons... Also, when i allied with pontos again a few years back, i got a ceasfire with Parthia and Baktria, so i stopped my conquest of those two kingdoms, and they haven't attacked me yet.
Western Mediteranean
Romani: They are figting the punic wars by land and see, and are currently suffering against the Swebo-Arverni alliance.
Carthage: Is trying to regain and controll sicily, corsica and sardinia all the time.
Aedui have become a bretnian tribe
Lusotana are doing nothing special either.
Eastern Mediteranean.
Macedonia: they were pushed to have only 4 settlements by the Epirotes, but practically destroyed them once they conquered Sparta. Now they started to invade Asia Minor, and have taken Byzantion and Nicomedia from Pontos. They are also allied with rome
Epirus. They only live becouse Taras rebelled to them
Ptolemaics: keep having a war with them for the Levant and Cyprus.
Saba. Same as ptolemaics
Pontos: They became quite a strong kingdom, but now are getting they're asses kicked, even though they have 2 full stacks in Amaseia. So i guess Macedonia will have a really hard time conquering it.
Armenia is at war with the sarmatians with mixed fortunes.
I haven't really payed attention with what other factions are doing:clown:
Hayasdan 265 B.C.
I know this is very early in the game, but I still posted the picture because I've never seen such rapid Lusotannan expansion! They have most of Iberia, and the game is only on turn 28!

No, it's Saba actually. The "Faction Leader" is a rebel general - ex-Carthage.
I gave the Casse 1 province in Belgica in ~220BC. Apparently they developed a slightly negative disposition towards the Sweboz after that...

Great overview! I hope your invasion of Egypt is going well?
The Levant, Lower Egypt and Kyrene are now secured. I'm now building up the infrastructure there and then I'll have to decide between conquering further into Egypt, starting to conquer Gallia or taking the last Pontic settlements and risking a massive war with the Parthian Empire.

246bc - SPQR campaign
https://img36.imageshack.us/img36/7379/246spqr.jpg
Arverni are gone - mercilessly slaughtered by Aedui.
Lusos and Carthaginians are fighting in Iberia.
Aedui and Sweboz are fighting over the hegemony in Central Europe.
Getai - surprisingly nice expansion
Epiros - being killed by me (for now I have no intention of killing them totally).
Macedonia - my ally, but I think I'll demand "become a protectorate or be destroyed by my mighty legions". I want to have full control over Greece to concentrate on my next big invasion - either Iberia or Africa.
KH - were pushed to Asia Minor by me and Macedonians. They have only Sparta in Greece.
Pontos - fighting a successful (so far) war against the AS. Lots of Pontos forces are spreading around the region.
Ptolemaioi - fighting against the AS. Suffered some heavy defeats and lost Alexandria for several years, but slowly rebounding.
Pahlava - slow but steady advance on the AS. AS were starting to get into the Grey Death mode. I already imagined fighting endless waves of phalanxes till the end of my campaign, so I've started to send mnai to Pahlava. 2000-8000 each turn, depending on my income. I think it helped them to survive and go to offensive now.
Bactria and Saka - canceling each other out.
And the most surprising faction - SABA. They've got 2 cities by rebellion and somehow managed not only to take Antioch, but also to defend it against AS assault. Interesting where will they go from there.
@ Marcus Ulpius
Very interesting campaign, I wonder what Saba and the Getai will do. Usually they stop moving after that. And either Aedui or Sweboz is going to give you a hard time in the near future.

P.s.: Does anyone know how I can mod in swimming units? I modified EB to play with BI and everything works except adding can_swim in the EDU, which has no effect besides that it shows up in the unit desciption. I tried Ferromancer's mod to see if it was something I forgot, but that doesn't work either.
@ Mediolanicus: The swimming ability doesn't seem to work for me either, so I wouldn't know. Btw, I once played a custom battle at the Kolossos, and I had a couple of Indian Longbowmen which I ordered to go for a little swim. Suprisingly, they did. So it does actually work.

How did you make that map?
Nice, I recognise the way you role play :-p
But you make the numbers a but more contrasting, because right now it really is very hard see to see the numbers.
I guess the map was made by using the map from the EB website and colouring it in with a photo edit program. (I have GIMP, but I don't know how to do that :-()
Yes, strangely it does work with custom battles...
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Why doesn't it work in my campaign..?? Perhaps it is not save game compatible, but I thought all EDU changes were save game compatible.
@ Mediolanicus:
You are right, i used those maps and GIMP.
It's not that difficult:
1. open the plain map and fill in the provinces in the coulors you like.
2. paste the antique map on an other level. You can make it a littel bit transparent.
The numbers have so low contrast, because I had to reduce the map size to uploade the map.

My Romani Campaign
https://img132.imageshack.us/img132/3339/roman002.jpg
OK Stuntz, we know Hellas is the most beautiful country all right :beam:
Anyway, here is a shot of my ongoing Makedonian campaign. The year is 239BC:
https://img199.imageshack.us/img199/9567/map239bc.jpg
Makedones: The mighty Basileion has risen from her ashes, and has unified Hellas under leadership of Antigonos Gonatas. Long dead now, the Crown belongs to his son Alkyoneus "Philopator". With the Epeirotai unable to properly defend Megale Hellas against the Romaioi Barbaroi, the Makedones established a foothold on Kalabria. This would ultimately lead to a war of attrition against the Romaioi, and the expansion of the Basileion. The Karchedoi have also joined the party, getting a nice beating from Demetrios (Antigonos' youngest son) who recently killed about 36,000 of those sea-loving barbaroi. A campaign in Illyria has brought the region under Makedonian control as well, as has the naval invasion of the Crimean to protect the Hellenes against the Skythai. Currently at war with the Pontioi (who repeatedly attack Byzantion), Romaioi, Karchedoi and Ptolemaioi (who attampted to sieze Rhodos several times). With the coffers bleeding badly, something has to be done quickly to avoid a future crisis.
Iberioi (aka Lusotani): Standard expansion by these barbaroi here. One of their proxenoi visited Hellas some years ago, I believe his name was Audaxos. It seems they might have some problems with the Karchedoi, once the latter realise they should simply abandon their plans in Sikalia and Megale Hellas due to Makedonian intervention.
Brettanikai Phylai (aka Casse): WTH? Where did they go? Fear not, Strategos Maroneios decided to kick them out and replace them with a shadow faction of the mighty Makedones. Ah, the thought of Civil War is always pleasant.
Aidouoi (aka Aedui): Pah, smelly barbaroi. We'll get them one day, though. And, Zeus' willing, we'll take revenge of them for sacking Hellas. Anyway, they just do what they should do. Fighting with the Arbernoi, those other barbaroi. As if we give a dime about those damn, god-forsaken forests of theirs.
Arbernoi (aka Arverni): More or less the same with the Aidouoi. They do seem to constantly have a slightly upper hand, though. Not that we care, but even our fearless Basileus might have to consider establishing some solid relationships if one of the two manages to unify Gallia.
Germanikai Phylai (aka German Tribes): Not much is known of the phylai of the Hyperborioi, though from what we've heard there seems to be one phyle stronger than the others that tries to unify the dark forested lands of those primitive barbaroi. Not that we care. Not at all, that is. I bet a square mile of their dark beforested land is worth less than a Triereres. Indeed, it is.
Romaioi (aka Romans): Only the all-knowing gods know hom much I enjoyed hearing that our great Strategos, Demetrios "Romaioktonos", killed 4 of the most influental men of that polis, Rome. Or better Barbaropolis, seing they are no better than the rest of the barbaroi that surround our beautiful Basileion. When they realised they won't have a bright future trying to expand south, they instead shifted their attention to the north by warring with the local phylai of the Keltoi. Pah, I'd like to see their faces when our great Demetrios knocks upon the gates of their beloved capital one of these days!
Italiotai Apeirotai: See that little patch of Tirqoise there on the map? There, on Megale Hellas? You don't know where that is? *Sigh* *points to the map* There. Well, they are basically remnants of the Epeirotai who fled from Hellas after loosing the war against Antigonos "Gonatas", our former Basileus. Quite manipulative and persuasive as well. I'm quite interested to see howlong they're going to last. I'd pay to see them get a good old beating ala-Demetrios. Oh yes, I wouldn't miss that for the world.
Karchedoi: What to say of those people? First of all, they start poking their noses with the affairs of Hellenes by attacking Syrakousai. And the Hellenes didn't even ask for help! They did deserve being captured and punished by the Karchedoi, if you ask me. But then they did the unthinkable: Just as Demetrios readied his push up the spine of Megale Hellas, they attacked Brettia! They got butchered by our noble Strategos though, as the dogs they are. They will soon loose their holdings in Sikelia, as everything shows. Anyway, let them do what they please. They did regain control of Sardinia and Korsike from the Romaioi dogs some years prior, that much I admit.
Thrakike Symmachia (aka Thracian Alliance): Yes, you heard it right. A Symmachia of Thrakes, of all people! Truth is, it isn't much of an alliance if you ask me. Just a couple of phylai that bully the rest into paying them taxes and providing them with troops. Pah, barbaroi all of them. I did hear something about military activity near the borders of Dardanoia though...
Skythai (aka Scythians): Well, i don't really have to say much about them. Only that they invaded the Crimean just as we launched a naval expedition there. Oh yes, they did. They even captured Pantikapaion! Good thing the leading Strategos, noble Perseus and son of our beloved Basileus, was there to take the polis back and kick the barbaroi out of the region. I did hear that he did so with substantial casualties, though. Not wanting to insult the man's abilities, of course. But one shouldn't underestimate them.
Pontioi (aka Pontics): Filthy animals all of them! Sacriligeous beasts, filth of the earth, unwashed barbaroi, Hellenes-wannabees, sons of who... Sorry, I got carried away. But those animals have set an eye upon the great polis of Byzantion! Time after time, our loyal Strategos and Dioiketes of the polis and surrounding region has repelled their attacks, but recently he died against an army led by one of the finest Strategoi of the Pontioi. Not before he took him to Hades with him, though. The men of the polis also managed to drive away the army, so things are OK for now. As for those barbaroi themselves, they took a clear advantage of the situation in Asia to take a good chunk of Anatolia under their control. Only Pergamon stays defiant, though if she falls too we'll have even more problems...
Arche Ptolemaion (aka Ptolemaic Empire): One word: Wow. I may not like them, but an applause is due. Against all odds and facing their own inside problems, they managed to deliver a crippling blow to the Seleukeis by grabbing Mesopotamia from them. There are words of a Sivil War though, as the Startegos who took control of Mesopotamia and pushed as far as Asia has dreams of carving his own Empire in expense of Pharao Ptolemaios. He is just one step away from declaring himself the new Basileus ton Basileon...
Seleukeis (aka Seleucids): One word; Dissapointment. But what would one expect from these Diadochoi wannabees? Truth is, they did remain loyal allies. But I'm pretty sure that'd change if they were in the position of the Ptolemaioi. They still hold on firm, transfering their capital in Sousa. Let's see if they manage to spring back. Rumours speak of secret meetings between our Basileus and representatives of the Seleukid Basileus. What that could mean I don't really know, though I really hope our Basileus doesn't decide to join the chaos in Asia.
Armenioi (aka Armenians): Nothing interesting here, philoi. Busy repelling the Skythai from the north, while they always keep an eye to the south. Especially now that the Ptolemaioi have gone on a rampage.
Arabikai Phylai (aka Arabian Tribes): Not much is known about those people as well. Better let things stay so. You bet I don't give a dime about the eremos in which those dehydrated barbaroi live.
Parthoi (aka Parthians): A very interesting expansion by the nomadic barbaroi here. Managed to blitz straight into the heart of the Seleukeis. I just hope they give the Ptolemaioi a mighty headache.
Sakaioi (aka Sakae): You sure want to know a lot, don't you? All right, all right I'll tell you. Well, according to information coming straight from the far-away Basileion of Baktria (oh yes, I spoke to an old merchant who used to be a soldier fighting there) the Sakaioi are quiet. Not causing too much trouble to the ruling Hellenes, that is. What? That is not reliable information? Like I give a dime about some barbaroi living in the ends of the Earth.
Baktrioi (aka Bactrians): After officially breaking apart form the rule of the Seleukeis, they carved a nice little Basileion of their own. Bet they're making tons and tons of money there. *Sigh*
What are you looking at? That's all I had to say. Sheesh, people nowdays are very rude. Never happy with what they have...
Maion
Nice overview and very interesting parallel universe you got there...
I see you called the Epeirotes Italiotai Aperotai, just as I did. They lived on the exact spot in my universe for some 50 years approximately.
Concerning the "god-forsaken forests" "not worth a Triereris": Romaioi dogs are not the only ones that might end up with their skin nailed to the trees and their innards sacrifized to Wodanaz. Breast-shaved Hellenes might share that fate if they are too foolish to avoid molesting the mighty Germanikoi. Humpf.
Pah, I don't care about Geramoi. Fearsome stories of the dark forests are for the common people. I am a man of war, practical and educated by fine scholars. With my trusy dory I will defend the honour of my Basileus, even to the ends of the world if he asks me!
Btw, I just killed of some 20,000 Romaioi and capt... erhm freed the mighty polis of Syrakousai from the Karchedoi.

EB 1.0
Makedonia 226 BC
I first kicked the Koinon out of Athens and Sparta (that last one was a lucky shot) with my starting armies. Thanks to those cities my economy was saved and when Pyrrhus came back (he didn't besiege me in 272 but Epeiros attacked Pella with a small army some years later) I could kick him back and later field an army large enough to destroy the Epeirote field army and take their capital. I didn't want to destroy them so waited a number of years before I kicked them out of Greece. Since then they've taken over most of the Italian peninsula -without any help.
My diplomats made contact with most nations and I've supported most of them with 500-1000 mnai a turn. I think it helped Pontos and Pahlava a fair bit.
Untill 5 years ago, I hadn't attacked a single faction safe the ones at the start. But then the Seleucids attacked me so I took Issos. Now I'm at war with the Koinon and the Ptolemaioi.
Allright: the surprises of the AI:
Casse had a very slow start but now they have a fullstack waiting to conquer more of the British Isles.
Sweboz never got of the ground and never accepted my mnaigifts. They have a fullstack but don't do anything with it.
The biggest suprise: Aedui. Not only did they hold Mediolanum for decades (the romans only captured it 10-15 years ago) they also conquered the towns under and below it (prolly the romans got the town in the first place)
Since then the Aedui have conquered most of Gaul and now they've started a war with the Lusotanna.
Next suprise: Epeiros. I've kicked them out of Greece but they managed to conquer most of Italy from Taras. Impressive rebound.
The Koinon finally managed the same. They were confined to Rhodos but then entered a war with the Ptolemaioi where they captured Hallicarnassos, Ephese and Sidon.
Lusotanna conquered most of Spain but are now facing the fiercesome gauls.
Carthage captured Africa and Sicily (despite epirote attempts to capture it) but don't seem to do anything more)
Ptolemaioi and AS kept each other at bay, but now I'm entering the fray and will disrupt the balance.
Pontos is a pretty decent nation, and Hayasdan has the Caucasus firmly under control.
Pahlava was going nicely untill Baktria decided to attack. They're a client kingdom now, as is Saka Rauka.
And Rome? Well they lost their homelands and are now stuck betwee Gauls, invincible rebels, me and Epeiros. Things are not going good for them.

Seleukids were getting really dangerous near the start. They eventually took Alexandreia (still have it) and Chighu (lost it after about two turns). They also destroyed Pahlava... in 267 BC. Luckily for me, after smashing their full stack that attacked me when I had northern and western Anatolia under control in a bridge battle, I was able to expand quickly into their homelands, where they had only a unit or two garrisoned in each city. I had initially planned just to sack Antiocheia (where I destroyed all the building and gifted it to the Ptolemies), but it quickly became apparent that I could afford to hold their cities while the tattered AS armies streamed back one at a time from central Asia. I'm hoping they'll actually accept a ceasefire after I take the rest of their holdings up to the Caspian, so that I can consolidate power and build up infrastructure for a while before destroying Egypt.
AI is better than with RTW.exe, but still stupid at times, notably the KH stack which has sat on Krete since the game's start without moving.
gah, that's why I don't play at vh. You have to rush/blitz everything to be not destroyed by the neighbouring factions. Pontos is so nice to play it slow on hard or medium and with those mines in Asia Minor you can easily affort to keep ptolly/AS at bay while sending a plundering-stack every now and then. But the unit roster is just lovely. <3 :-)
