    Good description, Mediolanicus.

Here my first attempt at playing Makedonia (RTW exe, H/M, 232 BC):

The Romaioi are behaving in a totally retarded way. So far I've been very lenient with them, but I'm getting angry (guess who had to trigger the March of Time reforms himself instead of having to wait for the Romaioi who were busy losing to Epeiros)...
I've bribed Sparte (including a Spartan governor), Pantikapaion (from the Eleutheroi because I had too much money), Kallatis (the denizens were in constant upheaval against their Getai overlords, so I stepped in), Roma+Capua from Epeiros (to give them back to the Retardoi).
Really like the black colour theme I'm the centerpiece of an obscenely powerful alliance which includes Lusotana, Qart-Hadast, Aedui, Casse, Sauromatae, Sab'yn, Pahlava and Baktria.

Edit: I'm sorry, couldn't figure out how to make the pictures larger except by clicking at them.

Thank you . Here's an update:

    219 BC

    213 BC

    210 BC

I've lost patience with several factions, including the insolent Getai and of course the Romaioi. Qarthadast attacked me so I seized the opportunity to take all their provinces in Sikelia plus Sardin and Korsim. ATM I'm besieging Barbaropolis (for the third time, in order to upgrade the Governor's palace and the city walls; then I'll perhaps leave it again so that the Romaioi can build their highways in Latium...) and moving in to take Bocchoris (on Mallorca).

The Lusotannan, Aedui and Swêboz are the dominating "Barbarian" powers now and have forced Rome and Carthage out of their respective zones of influence. The Arverni meanwhile refuse to die and occasionally even take a settlement from the Swêboz (and lose it again afterwards).
The Casse are apparently hibernating, as they are wont to.

The East is divided between the two other-than-me superpowers: Pahlava and Ptolemaioi. The pathetic rest of the AS struggles in Mikra Asia against an alliance of Pontos and KH. I've recently attacked Pontos by lifting their siege on the last AS settlement.

I've also sent my best army on a rescue mission to prevent the destruction of the Indo-Hellenic Kingdom of Sattagydia, formerly Baktria. On the way to India I pillaged Memphis (because my fleet wouldn't have been able to pass by otherwise).

    The siege of Patala:

    Getai; VH campaign, M battle; 210 B.C.

    Just a few comments:

Qarthadastim - wow. They blitzed their way through the Italic Peninsula in a matter of a few years. Currently they have quite a few full-stacks sitting in the Po Valley.

Romani - where are they, you might ask.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

The first faction to suffer this fate, I might add. Pushed out of their homelands by the Qarthadastim, then mauled by the Lusotannan (who took their three last settlements in Gaul).

Epeiros - strange place to find them, you would think. Indeed, another AI blitz, this time by KH, who appeared to be hellbent on destroying Epeiros. I and the KH were at peace for more than 10 years (while sharing a border of 4 provinces) with nary a word between us as KH poured all of its troops north.

AS - they appeared to be winning decisively in the war against the Ptollies, but then the Ptollies somehow made a comeback and beat back the AS to a small foothold.

Overall, a rather bizarre (and enjoyable) campaign.

Here's my Seleucid update, playing VH/M, BI.exe, year 227 BC

The major differences in my empire were the conquering of Mytilene, Pergamon, Zadrakata, Asaak and Baktra. I Installed client rulers in the first two for roleplaying reasons... Also, when i allied with pontos again a few years back, i got a ceasfire with Parthia and Baktria, so i stopped my conquest of those two kingdoms, and they haven't attacked me yet.

    Western Mediteranean
Romani: They are figting the punic wars by land and see, and are currently suffering against the Swebo-Arverni alliance.
Carthage: Is trying to regain and controll sicily, corsica and sardinia all the time.
Aedui have become a bretnian tribe
Lusotana are doing nothing special either.

    Eastern Mediteranean.
Macedonia: they were pushed to have only 4 settlements by the Epirotes, but practically destroyed them once they conquered Sparta. Now they started to invade Asia Minor, and have taken Byzantion and Nicomedia from Pontos. They are also allied with rome
Epirus. They only live becouse Taras rebelled to them
Ptolemaics: keep having a war with them for the Levant and Cyprus.
    Saba. Same as ptolemaics
Pontos: They became quite a strong kingdom, but now are getting they're asses kicked, even though they have 2 full stacks in Amaseia. So i guess Macedonia will have a really hard time conquering it.
Armenia is at war with the sarmatians with mixed fortunes.

I haven't really payed attention with what other factions are doing

    Hayasdan 265 B.C.

I know this is very early in the game, but I still posted the picture because I've never seen such rapid Lusotannan expansion! They have most of Iberia, and the game is only on turn 28!

Oh, and Arche Seleukia made peace with the Ptolemaioi on turn four. I suppose they really want to kill me...

Did that happen independently, or was that influenced by you?
"You must know, then, that there are two methods of fight, the one by law, the other by force: the first method is that of men, the second of beasts; but as the first method is often insufficient, one must have recourse to the second. It is therefore necessary for a prince to know well how to use both the beast and the man.

I gave the Casse 1 province in Belgica in ~220BC. Apparently they developed a slightly negative disposition towards the Sweboz after that...

The Levant, Lower Egypt and Kyrene are now secured. I'm now building up the infrastructure there and then I'll have to decide between conquering further into Egypt, starting to conquer Gallia or taking the last Pontic settlements and risking a massive war with the Parthian Empire.

Very interesting campaign, I wonder what Saba and the Getai will do. Usually they stop moving after that. And either Aedui or Sweboz is going to give you a hard time in the near future.

P.s.: Does anyone know how I can mod in swimming units? I modified EB to play with BI and everything works except adding can_swim in the EDU, which has no effect besides that it shows up in the unit desciption. I tried Ferromancer's mod to see if it was something I forgot, but that doesn't work either.

@ Mediolanicus: The swimming ability doesn't seem to work for me either, so I wouldn't know. Btw, I once played a custom battle at the Kolossos, and I had a couple of Indian Longbowmen which I ordered to go for a little swim. Suprisingly, they did. So it does actually work.

Nice, I recognise the way you role play :-p
But you make the numbers a but more contrasting, because right now it really is very hard see to see the numbers.

I guess the map was made by using the map from the EB website and colouring it in with a photo edit program. (I have GIMP, but I don't know how to do that :-()

Yes, strangely it does work with custom battles...

Why doesn't it work in my campaign..?? Perhaps it is not save game compatible, but I thought all EDU changes were save game compatible.
