Just an idea, but since it seems town spawn now from the regions capital, could it be that the overall resources of a region can actually be divided up between two faction who lay claim to towns within the same region? I know they said something like that before, but that kinda makes it interesting to me. I wonder if there would be an actual change in the color on the map if you do control the cities of a region where you do not control the capital.
Also, do you place a city, or do they have random or predetermined spawning points?
OMG OMG OMG!!!!
:elephant:
nice freedom 4 modders
oh and im with the pink elephant guy, i was also told he was drunk, all the more reason to agree
YAY° Austria!
Thanks for that analysis Sir Beane! :D
I'm sure that resource sharing among factions controlling parts of the same reagion is present. They've said that when you place your ships on a trade theater, you generate income.....when some else places one there with you, he gets a share. It's got to be the same on land too. And this concept is absolutly amazing.....it finally makes raiding seem kind of useful, go plop your troops in enemy lands and earn money
Wow! who would've thought that the Campaign Map would ever serve a purpose larger than giving you a target to pound into the dust!
Kudos, Sir Beane!
just posting to keep this near the top, I'm sure some are missing this as its a new vid, this low down on the list its probably not noticed, so for any who haven't seen it it's beneficial to keep this near the top for them
IM MAD!
I'm kind of disapointed about how the seiges, I wanted to see lines of trenches snaking forward until you outmanuvered your enemy and stormed the walls.
So basicaly, you take Paris, you control all of France?....Doesent sound very fun lol.
Which is historically accurate, in case anyone was wondering.
Well first of all, I'm not entirely certain that that's how it works -- that's simply my understanding going off of what's been said by CA/Sega thus far. Secondly, I don't think it's going to be quite that simple.
My impression is that while yes, you will technically "own" France if you occupy Paris -- i.e., France shows up on the mini-map as being controlled by your faction -- your control of the province will be only nominal at best if you don't also possess at least a majority of the other secondary cities as well. So unless you also occupy Marseilles, Bordeaux*, etc., controlling Paris itself will be of only modest value.
*I'm only guessing at the name of the other French cities. I'm not privy to any special knowledge.
Actually, going by the campaign's mini-map, it appears that Portugal *is* independent (as it should be). Now whether or not it's one of the original 12 playable factions is another matter, but at least it will be in the game.

...call me silly for just noticing this, but Russia is brown?
Ugh.
Well, now I have something else to live in fear of until the release. Horrible brown uniforms for Russia.
Yet Saxony seems...Pink? Not since Aragon has an entire army been cursed in such a way :laugh4:. Lucky Russians.
Which makes me think, in the interest of preserving Saxony's dignity upon the battlefield, that maybe CA has a faction color and a troop uniform color?
The faction colour will find its way into the uniforms.......not explicitly, but only enough for one to be able to tell one faction from another on the battlefield. Atleast that is what I understood by the FAQs.
The French being blue? I thought the French during this period wore white uniforms, up until the time of the Revolution. :inquisitive:Quote:
