'Well. I see you decided to lynch either NinjaCow or Arjos. I must say that I would prefer Arjos to stay among us for little longer. So, NinjaCow, you must die. At least, you are not a woman. As a real man, I suppose you will prefer to took your life yourself, with a sword? Please, take one of these' – doctor Willenloss pointed blades hanging on the wall.
NinjaCow took deep breath, and then, with one smooth move, catch one of the swords and decapitated himself. 'Real gentleman' – said doctor. 'Even laws of physics couldn't stop him from doing right thing'.
Quote:
NinjaCow was William Lane
'I have also some bad news for you. I do not know well all of you, so I was also shocked to learn that first person we decided to lynch was a policewoman. She was really good woman, clearly not associated with red scum. Why did you want to do that? Who will you kill next? A mayor?!? Or FBI agent?? Really, you should all start to think harder. Now, go to your homes.' With this words, old scientist leaved his guests and entered mansion.

Crap, Ninja was probably a town role.
It's very interesting that three players have received codes.
Jarema, please include updated rosters alongside your writeups. Soon it will ecome difficult to keep track of who's around.

Update roster? Do you mean list of living/dead players?
If so, I will do it. For now, it is in the op.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Michael Connely decided to spy professor Willess. Michel's intuition does not full him about his intended target. Professor doesn't sit at his house, but he rather visited someone else. Unfortunately, before Michael could see anything more, he was shoot down. The killer departed into the night, saying silently: 'For the People'.
Quote:
Edse was Michael Connely
Someone else was on the hunt during the same night. Eva Znanetzky was peeking into windows of John Blake's house, when someone grabbed her from behind and started strangling her. When she passed out, the perpetrator undressed her, almost completely. When he tried to remove Eva's underwear, she regained consciousness. 'Why? You are so handsome, if you asked me, I would be yours without all...' at this moment, his knife silenced her forever.
Quote:
BSmith was Eva Znanetzky
“I have another sad news for you' said doctor Willenloss entering the meeting. 'Late Ann Pferd was a good neighbour, valuable member of our community. Those dirty commies owe us for one more innocent victim. Please, double your efforts to catch them!'

Nightbringer was Ann Pferd. She was a nosy neighbour (role-scanner). She was innocent

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
It's perhaps because of my role that I got your secret love letter containing 24, is that so?
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Robbiecon's not voting, and this may be our last chance to get rid of him. He's not helping lynch any scum. I also know he just joined the Dr Who game on TWC so I doubt he's legitimately inactive.
I tend to discount Diana, because if she were mafia, you'd be dead already Monty. :tongue2:
My other top suspects are DaveShack and Brickfaced. DaveShack for voting for me and then disappearing and Brickfaced because of the murder choices.
-

No - I got it as well. Don't post first, and all.

Boo-hoo. How many rounds do we have left? How much longer will secrecy even matter? The Doctor called for a mass reveal. He said he wanted protection. Now the scum have other targets.
Man up. I can't, seeing as I have a vagina. So I need you to.

Yeah, how is protection going to work if there are now multiple valid targets for the mafia to hit?
The doctor's reveal was fine, a good idea, but I can't say the same about your reveal (especially that you have some sort of ability) and anyone else who decides to join you.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Didn't I just go through this nonsense?
Fine. I'll go through it again.
http://www.giraffeboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=32
Townie called for a mass reveal after the game is essentially over and nothing but townies had died. Nobody backed him up except me. We insisted on the reveal, and said we would vote for ourselves and therefore hold the game hostage unless there was a mass reveal.
The folks who insisted it was a horrible idea for the town WERE THE MAFIA. The townies complied.
We lynched 5 of the scumbags in a row and won.
Claim now, Chaotix.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I see half the living players claim, then I'll do it myself.
Not before. The mafia can pick and choose who they want to kill and any protection is rendered useless.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
If all reveal, we all become targets - as before.
If all reveal, we can wink the scum out through cross-checks, double checks, enhanced social monitoring, redundancy, and event logging.
Muster your courage and arise, townies. Only the lynched scum have seen the end of networking.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
And yes, all 5 lynches were lynch or lose for the town. Especially fun was hearing them scream "there's no case on me!" before they died.
The people scared to claim were scum. Simple simple. Do you know how many rounds remain? If two mafia, we're not sunk yet, but doubtful this is the case in a game with power roles.
Three mafia? What about 3 mafia and a sk? Other variations, like in Capo where the communists had a cell that didn't know each other at the start? We don't know the setup and we're getting a beatdown- at this point I am assuming we are at lynch or lose, or next round is lynch or lose (with a standard 3 mafiosi setup) assuming worst case no scums dead.
That's why not claiming actually hurts town and helps the mafia. We need a correct lynch today, not tomorrow.

No, you claim next. You want to see other claims so you don't claim something that can be counter-claimed.
Monty, back me.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
It only works if everyone does it. If I join you two and the rest of the town sits on its thumbs, which incidentally is rather likely since we have a bunch of lurkers, then me revealing is a detriment to the town.

You've probably picked up on the subtext. I didn't necessarily claim doctor, now did I.
Nevertheless, what I can do provides protection to the Doctor. Why are you trying to find out what that is? It makes me feel like you're trying to circumvent.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Yeah, I think I've got it.
There's no way you can be a doctor. Because you are a woman, and this is the 1950's.
Anyway I am muddling around a decision. No PM rule is killing me here, because I would reveal to Monty in a heartbeat.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Maybe I'm a woman from say, 2012 who is a doctor and the other doctor used a time machine and fell in love with me and brought me back to the 1950s.
Yes, a stretch. But let me put it this way: your line of inquiry caused more damage to the town than simply claiming your role in the first place. Now we can assume that I am not a doctor and that you are some other kind of powerful town role.
Had you simply bluffed, we might have been able to keep us all alive. Come on Chaotix, it's not Chess, it's Poker.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Nah.
If you can read this
Unless your way of protecting the doctor is dying in his place, then things are better this way.
without highlighting it
And since you said you would explain tomorrow, I'm assuming that's not the case.
then it wouldn't work
Besides, the mafia are going to think I'm lynchbait and leave me alive.
and I made a good call
I was really contemplating telling you to read between the lines and then filling it with a white-text roleclaim, but I realized not everybody uses the Morbid skin.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I'm hammering you because it's more difficult to craft an endgame strategy and a claim under immediate circumstances not knowing what the other claims will be.
Your continual delays on claiming cause me to believe your eventual claim less and less.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
You've got nothing to lose now, C.
You've essentially admitted to being an essential role, because you refuse to claim and are trying to craft ways of claiming that are indirect.
So the mafia know you're a target if you survive. What precisely are you benefiting the town by not full-claiming at this point?
I'm almost at the point where I want to let it go, but the damage is done. I want to know the role now. Might help me redirect my vote.

Nope. There it is. That's what I needed.
You believe I am town, but you are still voting for me unless I reveal.
I think you are a double-bluffing scum right now. There is too much SRSbznss in your posts and not enough ATPG.
You claim you can protect the doctor, which is wrong.
You are a lying, traitorous, two-timing communist and no one will believe me but there it is.
Vote: ATPG
I am sorry. Got a hunch and won't let go of it. I hate that I always do this. I am probably wrong, but you are scum.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Wow, you're right I had been slightly leaning town on you and was about to unvote, but there's nothing at this point that you have left to hide. You just cannot come up with a good lie.
You are scum. That was the breaking point. You couldn't come up with a claim and now you're caught and sunk.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Hammer them in real time, folks. That's how you get them. :bounce:
Lies are difficult to make up on the spot. You have to be confident they'll work even after other people claim. Chaotix just chickened out.
Cluck cluck.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Please, I can come up with plenty of good lies if I need to. You have seen me in action. In fact I have practically revealed just through the posts I have made. Read between the lines.
This is not ATPG in scum-hunting mode, this is ATPG in scum-picking mode.
Granted, I am like the ripest scum apple on the scum tree here, but you're still picking and not hunting.
This is why you are mafia.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
If you're spectating and still alive, you need to get involved. The same holds true for you: If you don't claim willingly, after the core of the town just told you to claim, then you're scum.
Chaotix, the only reason you "find me scummy" is I asked you to claim after Monty asked everyone to claim. You also know how to scum-hunt and this isn't that.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
No, I just have this really stupid idiot gut feeling and you are actually not denying what I just said which means you are scum.
Incidentally, what will you do when I flip town?
After you kill Monty, I mean.

Start making sense and CLAIM YOUR ROLE!

1. You didn't deny that you're not scum-hunting.
2. If you are so set on me being mafia, why do you still care what my role is? Answer: because you know I am town because you are mafia and you want to know what sort of deadly secrets I have that might make me a better kill than Monty tonight, assuming the lynch-wagon does not consume me.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I'm still here. It is possible that one silent person is being prevented from posting. If this is the case, I'm not responsible but I know how it was done. Others know this too, assuming the roles are consistent -- I'd have to read back through the reveals to find out how many.
-

1. Big What goes here.
Didn't deny it because it was so ridiculous. I've got you on the ropes, and soon comes the Stone Cold Stunna.
2. I care because you have absolutely nothing left to protect and your being stubborn about it matches EXACTLY the level of stubbornness of each and every remaining member of the mafia in the Handbasket Mafia. They refused to claim on principle (SisterCoyote) because it was bad for the town (Colby11 and Metallic Squink) and went to their graves whining that there was no case and also, whatcha gonna do when I flip town?
My question to you is why do all scumbags, across forums, with different personalities, who haven't even heard of one another, act the same way?
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Here's Polluxo on why he waited so long to claim:
Quote:
I didn't know the scum had a roleblocker until toDay, when mothedrine reported he got blocked. How'd you know the scum had a roleblocker before then? Furthermore, I claimed I had a power role because I was about to be lynched, not because I felt like claiming willy-nilly. Your vote stinks of bandwagonning.
Scum.
Do you need more examples? I can hammer this all day. I can even get org examples if you'd like. I know Raffe isn't everyone's cup o tea.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Yeah ok we are both waiting to see who will respond to Dave first, I get it.
Look Dave, we were just having this really good argument, you think you can come back in about an hour with that really interesting tidbit that will totally change the subject?
(:clown:)
I don't know what to think of this except you are implying multiple people all have the same role ability.
EDIT: Refresh, how does it work? I totally should have seen ATPG's posts before starting mine.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
You remain focused, Chaotix! I am Askthepizzaguy and I will have ORDER!!!
You do not start talking to DaveShack in the middle of a beatdown. That's just disrespectful.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
This is very sad, because I want to believe you are not scum, ATPG.
But if you are not, then everybody loses because you are wrong about me and I derailed this mass-reveal and probably lost us the game.
If you are scum, then just the second part is true but the mass reveal was probably playing right into your hand anyway.
So... already screwed it up, gotta stick to my guns unless I see something that trumps this whole exchange.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
And now, the Chaotix con-chair-to.
"Whatcha gon' do when I flip town?"
What you gon' do when I flip town?
I flip town when I go down
I'ma get, get, get, get, your mates,
Get all your commie teammates too!
You're scum. You're scum you're scum you're scum. Chaotix is really scum. (Check it out)
I drive these commies crazy,
I do it on the daily,
They actin' really scummy
They get me all these votes
Chaotix and that Arjos
And all their other teammates
Commies, they be be sharin'
All their money got me wearin'

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I am assuming you are town for this scenario. If you are mafia, it doesn't matter what I say to you but the real townies might be watching.
Look at it this way: I reveal now, and maybe you believe I am town. Doesn't make a damn difference because I am nightkilled instantly.
I keep quiet, and there is a chance, if I survive the lynch, that maybe I do something good before being inevitably nightkilled.
I have already screwed it up beyond repair, just trying to pick up the pieces.
Also I would make a comment here about how these posts of yours will look really silly when I am a dead townie, but that will just feed your ego and you will keep doing it. And then you will look even more silly.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I can also do The Rock.
"Claim your role, and shut your mouth, Jabroni!"

Yeah I don't watch that anymore, that's why these references are so dated.

Hi my name is Chaotix my role is one the mafia should nightkill instantly but I don't want to claim because then I might get nightkilled instantly.
Instead I'd rather be lynched instantly.
The Rock says it DOESNT MATTER WHAT YOUR ROLE IS! The Rock is exactly One, Two, Three seconds away... from taking that claim, shining it up real nice.... TURNING IT SIDEWAYS.....

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Meh. I am in a lose-lose situation, which I put myself into.
Arguing with you is going nowhere, it is literally just the same lines back and forth with maybe some different wording and a bad rap parody here or there.
I would prefer to agree to disagree so we can get back to whatever this was going towards beforehand. Everyone knows I am today's lynch anyway.

Ok, that is totally communist what you are not even trying to hide it. This is the sort of stuff I do so I can go back to my posts and point and laugh after I win as mafia, assuming I win.
Anyway, since you are in the mood I DO want to hear what you will do when I flip town.

I am now going to take a shower.
With bleach.
For my eyes.
When I am back hopefully we have a discussion going about something not related to me being scum.
But I will be back. I am having fun now, even if it is a morbid "even though I am going to die" sort of fun.

But that didn't happen.
But let no one say I did not return!

A townie's only duty is to die for the greater good. Do you understand? Townies die - they do not surrender.
I am buying us time. What I am doing gives the possibility of revitalization.
Bear with me and you will see that Pizza may indeed only become a tertiary target tonight. As for yourself -
ARE YOU MY SON, CHAOTIX?
ANSWER ME.
With every prevarication, the scum grow more assured. They scheme, Chaotix. Do you scheme, Chaotix?

I think your both over the top with this argument, and could possibly be mafia partners. Or your both town and just over the top, or you actually got some sleep today and too much soda or something. Sons would know who he is, also makes sense.
Yes this is all very sense-making, I say while nodding convincingly.
I could always shake my enormous butt some more. Or shave that horrible neckbeard.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
It's difficult for me to believe that such a great Name would possess a lowly Name-Scan role.
Edit: Even more difficult to believe that it's only foreknowledge of my identity.
But this is why we need many roleclaims to vet.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
NOOOOOO!!! Pizza STOP with the video pics, now I'm going to vomit. It is just torture.
Monty it is true, stop being so paranoid (that's usually my job).

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
I am one of the Doctor's assistants, I am an armor.
I read through the entire Chaotix-ATPG conversation. I don't think it was simply smoke and mirror distraction by mafia team mates. I am going to trust ATPG though, because he claimed, and because I know as well as anyone that mafia do love to hold out on claiming. So I will Vote: Chaotix.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Thank you for coming forward Robbie; I had you on my suspicions list and this helps greatly with that.
I regret, my Doctor, that we might be in that dreaded situation where the only claimants are the few active/caring townies remaining. It would seem that Chaotix' prediction, scummy as it was, was accurate.
This is inexcusable. This isn't even a weekend.
-
Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
If I were still alive, I would without a doubt be voting for Chaotix.

Not your son, Monty.
John Blake, one of your assistants.
I'd like to note that in addition to being right about there being too many lurkers for a mass reveal, this sort of thing that has happened to me happens to pro-town almost as often as it does to mafia. That is why scum do it anyway, because it's a last-ditch attempt and sometimes it works.

First off, the 3 deaths are all from munisch's ordinary inhabitants and not from the assistants that we know of, baring in mind everyone has a role of some sort, we might not have lost specifically great roles, since the vast majority of us strike me as having pro-town powers.
If it is relevant, I can also pledge that I received a PM in regards to 24.

Is that all you have to say on the matter? Feel free to elaborate. You've got my attention now.
@ ATPG, Chaotix
I don't believe either of you are being particularly helpful to town by producing barrages of squabbling posts. I don't mind reading them, but I can bet that some will begrudge it and perhaps miss the occasional post that is productive in the process. I do feel that whilst Chaotix was damned from the initial point he hesitated, he does come off more scummy as a result, but it would be far to predictable and probably errant for me to vote for either of you off hand.
I am under the belief that claiming is pro town in this situation because typically, only mafia would claim last minute to save their skin for one more round.

The character list surely suggests he has only 1 son, why the plural? And your role doesn't strike me as being particularly powerful compared to those who have perished, since you are the doctor's son. In fact, it would be great irony if the Doctor's son was a communist. You also seem to be buddying with Monty far too much for my liking, dedicating two of your decisions to him.

What is your name, what do you mean by armor? Jumping on the Choatix wagon seems unwise, not that I resent the idea of lynching him, but that we should have a few candidates in the running to encourage application of pressure. If he is town the mafia don't even have to defend themselves since they aren't under any scrutiny whatsoever.
And finally, in this gargantuan post. My role.
I'm Jane, Doctor's assistant. I can role block once in the game under a certain condition. Only certain mafia player(s) are able to kill me but for my own safety, it is important I don't reveal the prerequisites.
That's all folks.
...oh and I'll vote later, I want to gauge the posts that proceed after mine.

Correction, I am not an assistant.
At least not a sciencey lab-coat and beaker assistant.
But I do work in the lab.
Anyway, I agree with Brickfaced that I have vastly messed up this round. I have been making a List of Things Chaotix Could Have Done to Survive this Round.
It goes something like this, in order of effectiveness:
1. Keep my mouth shut
2. Reveal as soon as Monty posts

Probably by a serial killer, because that guy does not sound typically communist.
Actually you being an investigator is making me suspicious of what Diana has claimed. Two role investigators in one game?

There is another clue in the write-up, but I am afraid I can't say much more because I am dead.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
BSmith, you can hint at it. Just, stick around for a couple of hours and I'll find a semantic loophole for you.
Chaotix, we see that edse was also doing some spying when he died. I was absent from the house when he was killed by an obvious Commie. Bsmith was doing something similar (if scum, checking for recruitability?), and when he died your location was not given. That's interesting.
That's two scanners, and I'd bet there are more. Jarema loves scanner-variety. Anyway, Diana claimed that she started off knowing my identity. I wouldn't be surprised if she happens to be hiding a trick up her sleeve.
Yes, you are indeed claiming to be one of the Munisch townfolk.
Robbiecon, what is an armor? I can't find documentation on any such role.

Igor is my son. Years ago, Adolf messed him up, and they haven't spoken since. It is certainly possible that one of my sons is out for something as a personal goal. It is even possible that one of them is an SK or communist.

Re: Doctor Willenloss and his splendid invention, or... [IN PLAY]
Munisch's inhabitants were discussing fiercely. Well, at least some of them. In the heat of discussion they didnt notice that doctor Willenloss vanished somewhere.
Tally:
Chaotix: ATPG, Diana Abnoba, Robbiecon
ATPG: Chaotix
Willenloss shaved slowly, his face half-lit by dimmed light. He could feel that something had gone wrong again. At this rate, the machine would fall into Communist hands. Perhaps it should be destroyed - pounding. Willenloss only felt the sound of running footfalls unified with the other senses now. His breathing drew shallow, and he lowered the straight razor - his beautiful American grandfather's - to let it hang limply somewhere before his clavicle. The sunlight took his white-smeared face in full. He was calm when the assistant called from the other side of the door. The machine could not be destroyed. Not after so much labor.
"Doctor, Eva and Michael have been - "
"I know. I always feared that the townsfolk chiefly would feel the first wave of Fifth Columnist violence. Now we must surely be next."
...
"Rouse the others. Prepare the Machine."
It was noon when the Doctor assembled the ten little Indians in a clearing near his lab.
"Thus far it has been a catastrophe for us. 5 dead, no end in sight, and now news that there may well be three killers among us? It was my oversight, not to contact the authorities, you know. I was terribly afraid that the state would appropriate my machine. I know Einstein has been writing much of time travel in the journals lately."
Igor wheeled a tarpaulin-covered cart into the clearing. The canvas material shivered along the edge of something metallic in the cool autumn wind.
"The phone lines are now cut, however, and there's no time and no one to spare for a contact mission. I'm afraid we're all stuck here, and the forces of tyranny may soon overtake us. I cannot allow this machine to fall into Communist hands. I will work against such an outcome unto death.
For this reason", Willenloss suddenly yelled at the top of his lungs, spreading his arms wide, "I am going all-in - as shall you all. This is the hour, fellows! Here, we shall tell every single thing. Let there be no secrets between us. This is the Red Confession!"
The gathered individuals gawped in shock. Several, including the Reds, shuffled uneasily their feet. The Professor slowly lowered his arms and began to glare. Adele Delacruse, his lover, leaped forward and began to babble something.
"Beat it, ladyface," he snapped stomping over to the cart and throwing off the covering, revealing a gleaming contraption of manifold variegated knobs and levers. "Behold! the true power of this fully operational Time Machine!"
"Don't do it, sweetheart!" wailed Delacruse. "You're tearing us apart!"
The Professor paid no heed, instead working various parts with Igor's help before leaping into the hollow belly of the machine and bellowing, "ACES HIGH!"
It seems that whole world exploded. Every particle and every wave turned upward and inside. Melodies of colours and touches of smells flow through the warped space. After years, or maybe seconds, everything became peaceful again.
"We made it" shouted doctor Willenloss. "And the final proof is presence of William Lane, Michael Connely, and Eva Znanetzky among us!". Silence followed his words, as everyone was shocked beyond understanding.

BSmith - Edse - Ninjacow - report!
Edse is the one guaranteed to be town by his death at the hands of the Communists, I believe.
