Re: Girls hate my muscles, GAH!!!!
SFTS, i have similiar aims, and a similar diet to little grizzly. I have some new weights, at the moment there 1.5 KG (i have 2) (and there more than heavy enough for me) baring in mind i'm thin and not particularly strong. is 1.5KG an ok weight? or should i add more weights to them to really push myself, or could it do damage?

On what exercise? 1.5 kilos is 4 lbs. Chances are you form is way off on whatever your doing. What does your rep scheme look like.

Re: Girls hate my muscles, GAH!!!!
Also, i lift them simultaneously in sets of 20, 4 times in 4 stances (320 lifts approx)
-I do the normal up and down weight lift building my arms up
-I do one where i lift the weight up and down from my waist to my shoulder, building chest i think
- Stance where i lift over head, from shoulder to air
- Stance where i push the weights from my waist outward
- sometimes i go on my exercise mat lying down and push the weights up from my chest to the air
Is this a good way to build up? my dad does weights in this way, so i figure it might help me.

Front Raises, They dont build chest the build your anterior deltoid (front shoulder)
- Stance where i lift over head, from shoulder to air
Military press, Anterior and lateral Deltoid (Front and side shoulder)
- Stance where i push the weights from my waist outward
I'm sorry I don't follow
- sometimes i go on my exercise mat lying down and push the weights up from my chest to the air
DB bench, Works chest

Honestly 1.5 kilos is not heavy on any of these lifts for a complete newbie (save MAYBE front raises for like a week )
No it's really not a good way to build up you have no back or leg work and don't hit the triceps very hard and mind you triceps are 2/3rds of the arm. Also 4x20 is a bit overkill and you really not doing anything for yourself either.

It's a dumb pet peeve but you have to realize if you truly want to change, you need to take this very seriously. I'm not calling you out by any means but just realize. If I could fly to the UK and yell in your ear I would but schooling and money problems prevent that.
I consider it a hobby and find it quite enjoyable to do an hour weight lifting session after classes and work.

It was more like a non sequitur because I couldn't really care less about your advice and wanted this topic to be focused on something other then you and Grizzly.

Run, leg squats, lunges, there is a wide variety of exercises for the leg muscles. Just google a few.
Also you said you were lifting 1.5 kg for your upper body? That most likely wont build muscle as it wont be working them hard enough. Try 4 kg if your a beginner that should do the trick.
Then in no time if you stick at it you'll be curling 20's. :2thumbsup:

I'll hold as heavy as i can manage (which isn't much) :clown:
Also i just realized that i have a 1.5KG weight on each side of the weight (as all weights have 2 on each one) so that kinda equals 3kg in total, or was that obvious?

Re: Girls hate my muscles, GAH!!!!
Ok i've attached the next size up instead, from 1.5 kg per weight to 2.5 (as theres 2 weights on each thats 5kg per arm) Will it still be more effective even if i do less lifts than normal? (no way i can do about 320 lifts with almost double the original weight)

From what I've been told, you should do 3 sets of 8-12 for every exercise. 320 lifts is way too many.

I just work on push-ups and dips for triceps (because I have no machinery).
I'm kind of forced to do more sets because of this...

Re: Girls hate my muscles, GAH!!!!
A bar you lift with two hands? Like an olympic bar?
Yeah something like that, a barbell its called, can hold 50 kg....
One hand? I don't follow. You mean like a dumbell?
Yes! couldn't think of the name!
Those wieghts are going to need to get heavier. Can you get heavier weights?
Possibly, my friend mentioned something about his weights, if not i could probably get some equipment in March...
I imagine you have nothing that resembles a power rack and no where to place the bar.
Had to look up power rack... no... not sure what you mean about where to place the bar... as in somewhere to lift it from ?
Eat Breakfast. Force something down your throat.
Have been....
Ok thanks for all the articles appreciate it, i am planning on starting on Monday seen as i will have more time and be in better shape to begin it, probably a bad idea to start on weekend, then ill have loads of questions for you ~;)
