How do you know pever is innocent, pray tell? Because we've already had three people claim detective-like powers. Since pever has done nothing in this game besides show up to save himself, he's a liability, period.

Let me combine your perspective with my own, for a moment. I hate to be only combative and not listen.
Assuming you're a townie, this is what I know:
Quote:
Alive
pevergreen- innocent, according to Beefy
johnhughthom- voted for Captain Blackadder
Captain Blackadder- innocent by fact of total inactivity
Tratorix- innocent due to atheotes investigation
Beefy187- innocent, according to Beefy
AtPG- innocent due to the fact that I am.
Death is Yonder- voted for Captain Blackadder.
Bit it
White eyes :D
CDF
Yaropolk
Beskar
taka
Diana Abnoba

This means the most likely suspects are johnhughthom and Death is Yonder, if I were to believe you were a townie. Which makes sense because they were also responsible for the atheotes lynch after I suggested how silly it was to vote for Blackadder.

Assuming that its a god father game, with 3 mafia, 1 god father and two grunt set up. And assuming that taka was one of them.
At this stage it is likely that the remaining two has a same opinion or strategy.
That means the following are likely to be mafia assuming that no other grunts or god father has died.
Team 1
beefy+ pever (taka)
Team 2
ATPG+ Tratorix (taka)
Team 3
DIY+ Johnhaughthom (taka)
Also assuming that Tratorix was cleared by Atheotes the detective revealed by the host, Team 2 is likely to be both townies.
We can lynch one each from team 1 and 3, if that fellow happens to be the mafia we can lynch the other fellow in the team.
I propose this strategy unless someone else has a better plan.
07-23-2009, 07:18
Askthepizzaguy
Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
And so therefore you would recommend lynching one of Death is Yonder or johnhughthom, since you don't want option 2 (cleared as innocent by investigation) or option 1 (yourself and pever).
Since Trat was cleared by atheotes and they either guessed correctly or investigated me and cleared me, that means team 2 is innocent and therefore murder bait. Whoever remains from team 2 has to decide between team 1 and team 3 for the lynch, since it is likely the teams will vote together and tie it up.
It is a shame Blackadder isn't here, because we could use the extra vote for margin of error. The fact is, with 2 mafia remaining we do not have a chance to guess incorrectly this next round. That's all folks.

That is a suicidal strategy no matter which team you play for. If you're indeed a townie, that means you're intentionally allowing the mafia to win the game because that removes your vote and allows another murder.
I'm half tempted to actually listen to you and vote for you for suggesting that. That sounds like a gaffe, intended to be WIFOM but not thought through properly.

If I turn out innocent, then pever is innocent as I say.
we just lynch DIY and John as lynching one mafia will buy us a extra turn.

Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
All right; it is just that if you turn out innocent it is too late to save anyone because we needed your vote. We don't have two rounds if two mafia remain; it is already 5 townies 2 mafia at best, and at least 1 townie dies tonight, giving us the dreaded 4-2. If we fail to lynch a mafia on the next turn, that is 3-2 going into night phase and the end game is 2-2 townies lose automatically.
That is why you have to be very careful what you suggest; that vote yourself first strategy can only be a gaffe or a bluff, because no matter what side you're on, you lose the game. You're a smart guy Beefy and I think you would make a mistaken suggestion like that out of nervousness due to the pressure of being scrutinized and having to come up with a townie-perspective solution to the endgame at the same time.
EVERYONE has to vote the same way next round, no matter what; because if the townies are divided, we automatically lose due to the number of votes. We need to decide which way to vote and all vote that way, pevergreen included. I hope he can be serious for the final round; as I said I haven't found his contributions helpful so far, merely distracting and harmful. I am still tempted to follow my own gut and go for the Beefy/pevergreen combo starting with pevergreen just on principle. As it appears I may be a swing vote next round, I HIGHLY advise the townies to put their thinking caps on, analyze the thread, and for the love of PETE, give a solid argument as to why I should vote your way.
Beefy and pever, you have your work cut out for you. I'd rather not lose this game as I tend to think of the mafia as being very on the ball and aware of more than what the townies are. THAT is perhaps the only reason why I am leaning towards john or DIY; because you and pever have made some serious errors, which is not something I think you both would do if you were mafia at this late stage of the game.
Townies need to tighten up on this last round, that's all I'm saying. Please forgive my criticism, but unless we pull it together, starting right now, we lose and it is our own fault.

Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
You make a good point, john. It looks as though pever and beefy are working together. Beefy's words all but admit it because he's absolutely certain pever is "innocent".
You and DiY are the only other two who seem to be working together. The theory is that on the final round the mafia have to work together to pool their votes. Also of interest is if the mafia ends up choosing to kill someone from the group beefy and pever or john and Death, as it would indicate the other group is guilty. The logical move would be to kill Tratorix and me.
I would probably rely on the judgment of the dead townies when you guys make your decision. Those who don't are obviously mafia.

Without his detective ability (well his dead) atheotes is no more then any of us.
He may have knowledge we don't have like confirmation of tratorix and ATPGs innocence, but other then that, he can only do what we can do. Analysing.

I don't know. It's confusing me too.
Atheotes contacted me during the last day phase claiming detective. Let's get one thing straight here: I do have a detective role. Apparently atheotes did as well. The taka investigation came from me, I didn't know atheote's role until the last phase. I don't think this will really matter though, as the mafia have two kills tonight and there should be two of them left. That leaves us with 5 votes, one belonging to the absent Captain Blackadder. Therefore, the game may be over tonight. I'll investigate Beefy tonight, which will leave pevergreen, DIY or johnhugthom as the second mafia henchmen if he is innocent.

That sounds like a plan. Did you investigate anyone else-results please.

It sound like AVSM is giving the okay to tell us your results. Please post them, town needs the help.

Why should we trust a second investigator? Especially after the real detective accusing you?

Cause I got taka lynched? Why would I fake a detective reveal near the beginning of the game with a real detective still out there? It would be a rather stupid move.

I could think of at least 3 reason why you did that assuming you are the mafia.
Well, i'll wait for atheotes to say what he needs to say.

The town woke up to a strange sight. AtPG riding a sheep in utter glee. And the lack of cerebral matter spattered on the ground as well. It was saved! The townies have won! Everyone was busy celebrating, when several boulders fell out of the sky, spelling;
"IT ISN'T OVER"
With the apostrophe being an unfortunate, but unimportant townsperson. More voting was in store.

You had a bad papercut from all the file-sorting you had done these past few days, so you were forced to use your tongue as well. Bad idea. Upon tasting Beefy's file, you promptly vomited all over it, only adding to the disgusting layer that was already caked on.
All thoughts were confirmed when you saw his place of birth: Ireland. Beefy is a total drunk, but that's only a bit worse than the other workers. Apart from a few barfights, his file is er.... clean

Everyone please reveal your role PM now. I guess atheotes isn't returning to discuss the Tratorix situation.
Personally, if I have to make a judgment call, I would choose based on who has been discussing, who has been contributing, and who I would feel has earned a victory. Those of you who actually tried to contribute and voted and so forth, I don't mind losing to you, because you make the game more fun, and activity should be encouraged. Since atheotes isn't here to point us in the correct direction, I'll make my decision who to vote for when everyone has revealed, and take full responsibility for the consequences.

Welcome to my first mafia game at the .org! Before reading the rest of this PM, please note that
-Your role PM is in the second spoiler. Don't quote this stuff.
-I will not tell any sort of lie in this PM, although information may be withheld.
-I will announce roles in my write-ups, whether it be lynch or night kill. I will not announce WOGs, instead I will simply give someone else the role, if the WOG'd had one.
-I implore you to save any PMs I give you on your computer on Wordpad or something. I can't manage on my inbox for the summary.
-Oh, and take my various stereotypes in stride. It's all in good heart, and I would do the same to Canada, if people were interested in it.
-Have fun, and play nice! Not that you need to be told.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You are Peter the Hermit. No, not that one. Normally, hermits simply want to worship god in peace. You are a hermit because you are completely insane. What's that? Your last name?
Murphy. Peter Murphy, the nastily incoherent, incontinent, and inconceivable hermit. Roleplay please. :D
Gameplay wise, I haven't a clue as to what you are. You have lived here for (According to you) an eternity, and will outlast any others who come here. Since you're crazy, no one will believe you. But they will soon. At least, if the factory is destroyed, they will most definitely look towards you for guidance. Of course!
During the day phase, you may argue with other players, vote in lynches, and role-play. During the night, you can't do anything but wait and see if you die. If you have any questions, please PM me, but try and make it during the day phase, or I might end up missing the night actions.
Because you live in a cave far beyond the outskirts of the town, you are immune to night-kills. Your innate knowledge of the place, as well as the disorientation of any visitors to it, help you achieve an air of mystery, and flatulence. During the night, you may snoop into town to sabotage the machinery, throw some of your waste in it or something, but this will leave you out in the open.
Objective(s)
-All Anti-town roles are dead
Bonus if:
-Factory destroyed.
Please have mercy on my hosting, and remember to have fun!

AVSM
According to the above role PM, which is actually my real role PM, I am either pro-town or neutral with nightkill immunity. That is probably why there were no kills at all last night. I have the power to determine who wins the game, so your role PM's and your arguments as to why player X is guilty would be useful. Or, if you're mafia, explain why I should vote in your favor.
Right now I am favoring the town to win the game but I don't know for sure who is who. My role was kind of an afterthought, but it was fun to play.

Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
Oh and PS- I haven't been sabotaging the factory at night because that would have left me vulnerable. Nightkill immunity is worth more than that.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You are a Drunken Moron. You are very drunk, you only want to lie down in your chair after a hard day's work and drink more beer. Previously, your supervisors raged at why empty beer bottles littered the factory. You are completely useless, and must expect to take whatever doubt and suspicion the town may want to divert onto you due to your lack of coherence.
Who are you? You have forgotten, in your drunken stupor you've forgotten everything, except that you work in this factory and that the job brings money to buy more booze. Simple to roleplay eh? Just burp and demand more beer. ;P
Gameplay wise, you are one of the more senior workers here, having spent most of your wasted life languishing in this compound which spews out black filth daily, yet you do not command the other workers respect due to their disdain for your behavior.
During the day phase, you may argue with other players, vote in lynches, and role-play. During the night, you just laze around and doze. If you have any questions, please PM me, but try and make it during the day phase, or I might end up missing the night actions.
Due to your alcoholism, you have dozens upon dozens of empty beer cans and beer bottles lying around the floor. Nobody dares to touch them out of disgust, and slowly they have been piling up over the years. Now, it is like a minefield, during the night time when the factory is almost pitch black, anyone who dares to even walk within 50 meters of you will either slip and trip on the bottles, impale themselves on broken beer bottle shards, or wake you up by causing a great din. You have a slight chance of surviving a night attack and an even smaller chance of the attacker dying in the attempt.
Objective(s)
-All Anti-town roles are dead
Please have mercy on my hosting, and remember to have fun!

I found it pretty ironic that I was nearly lynched on the first round in regards to the first paragraph in my role pm :clown:
I was also pretty disappointed that nobody tried to attack me, I felt it a duty to make up for my "uselessness" by taking one for the team. :embarassed:
Basically, I am a useless townie who just roleplays a slob who is a drunkard that has a "slight chance" of surviving night attacks and a tiny chance of the attacker dying in the attempt. Probably for gameplay reasons though, seeing ATPG's pm, I think it was probably for balance, too many survive night kill roles would result in it being rather unfair for the mafia.
I'll make my argument later, 'scuse me, dinner calls.

______________________________________________________________
You are an IRISHMAN. You should know the old jokes about this. God-fearing, potato farming, heavy drinking Irishman. It may or may not be a hindrance to role-play this character, so use your own discretion. No maliciousness either, but you don't need to be told.
Gameplay wise, you are a TOWNIE. You came to this town to make some money, and drink, and drink, and drink. Other than that, you don't do much else. Your alignment is Pro-town.
During the day phase, you may argue with other players, vote in lynches, and role-play. During the night, you may attempt to repair the factory. If you have any questions, please PM me, but try and make it during the day phase, or I might end up missing the night actions.
As a worker, you are able to repair the main factory, for variable values, during the night phase. You may perform magnificently, or end up destroying it, but with more workers, the chance of positive results increases.

Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
What are we to achieve from revealing our role pms? This this game has some strange roles and faking one would be very easy, all revealing would do is show the mafia who they need to kill first.

Re: The Black Country (IN PLAY)
I am practically useless, and I have a slight deterrent to the mafia wanting to kill me, I do not fear death. :skull:
I think that beefy revealed because Pizza, who seemed to be the one to be able to sabotage the factory, has done nothing at all to it, and thus, he is also probably (I suppose) useless.
If you have something that it would be beneficial for town to keep secret and the mafia to be kept in the dark, feel free to not reveal, although at the moment, I think it would be at least beneficial at the very least.
