Are you two quite done?
Sure :clown:
Get lost Spain, it's rude butting in to other conversations. :clown:
My guess is that everyone has some land claims in mind?:laugh4:
I know me and the Swedes will face off....as long as they hold Novgorod Territory:inquisitive:
I am not declaring war on Sweden over this:laugh4:
We need to declare war in-thread, so you guys can't sneak attack sadly:shame:....I had to declare war on the lifeless barren wastes of Russia:laugh4:
Edit: Too much territory to cover anyway...
Portugal's only interests lie in trade and the new world, although if our close friends the English are invaded we will do our best to help drive back the invaders.
I don't get why anyone would invade England...
I can see Portugal....but England?:laugh4:
Maybe they really enjoy lots and lots of rain.
Rain is better than sand and being constantly invaded by horsemen and elephants throughout your history
I suppose this is what happens when you leave a bunch of crazy people pretending to be 17th Century countries in a room together.
:laugh4:
I'm not crazy, it's the other 6.5b people who are...
All that info+some more was added to the first post. I'll try to maintain some sort of FAQ there. ~:)
It would be good if all Orders are sent to me in the next couple of hours. If I already have them then I'll announce it and start working with your PM's.
No, there is just one. Turkey or you can call them Ottoman Empire.. take your pick.
If you want to join then perhaps you join on Turn 2.
Creating another country would delay the write-up and the start of new turn. :shame:
So, You were interested starting as Milan/Venice?
GeneralHankerchief, I apologize for all the extra work you had to do. I refer to all these [Language please] messages in this thread. :sweatdrop:
Now, I will go and check all these PM's....:wall:
[EDIT]Haven't received orders from Subotan
This turn is over. I'll post the write up and start the next turn tomorrow.
Those, who I asked to clarify some parts of their Orders please send your PM's sometime today(this goes for you too Subotan:whip:).
saxony welcomes all religions in its territories and promises that all will be treated equally be ye catholic, protestant, orthodox, or even heretical muslims
to be honest i havent even really begun thinking about po yet. need to request the map from ibn..... do it after this phase because he is so busy
You should read about PO in the first post.
Go to Useful Information->How does Public Order work?.
I have explained what will reduce and what will increase PO.
However, there are still some events (that either increase or reduce it) that I can't reveal yet.
If you want to be prepared for those(and other events) I suggest you read a bit about The Thirty Years War and about your country. ~:)
lol im reading all about it right now
Hmmm... I see we can have purely defensive alliances.
And all was quiet.
[Before this kicks off, I would like to take a moment to declare my appreciation of the word "defenestration".]
Presumably you refer to the manure incedent at Prague Castle :laugh4:
cant wait to see what everyone was up to last phase. Oh by the way, i think after the writeup has been posted we should publicly declare our trade partners and our allies
I can tell you what I was up to:
Several rounds of back and forth with the host trying to figure out how to send my orders in properly. Then I negotiated for some land and I had to re-send my orders all over again.
If the other nations don't kill me I'm probably going to commit hara kiri due to the sheer frustration of attempting to handle all the complexities of this game. Meanwhile, other nations have already gotten the hang of it.
All I want to know is where is the "conquer everything" button. It appears to be missing from my keyboard.
Ibn told me these were beautiful.
Orders:
1. mekka mekka high
2. hiddi hi hi ho
3. Rock
4. you like
5. a
6. hurricane
First port already on the map should be named awesome.
Cost in all, gah$. So meh$ left
Trade rights:

nahh

Alliances:

Other stuff:
Obviously I changed my orders with random comments, but this is a good outline to go by
if you are trying to build a city then simply put,
Build City in awesome Territory, Hex 6. Name of the city is Awesomeland
again, details changed :beam: hope this helps you guys, it might not.
I named my city...."Borish":laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:
Man, I am broke now....:sweatdrop::sweatdrop:
At least I will be raking in the cash, after this turn:beam:
who are you again, white eyes?
He is the Russian Bear, who wants to give you a big hug and for you to embrace the love of Mother Russia.
bah dont talk to me about being to small and not making enough money..... im three squares darn you, three squares!!!!!!!!!
Yeah..but I say the Swiss has it the roughest:laugh4: At least you can expand into Northern Germany:book:
[Why I didn't learned bookkeeping when I had the chance?!]:wall:
Vote: Askthepizzaguy
WIFOM is scummy. You WIFOM'ed in this very post. SCUMMY!!!
No....it's pretty Basic...The problem is doing all that accounting-type work for free:no:
If I was not playing, I would have helped you...
Ohh I have another question. The manual says it costs 200 to convert a hex if you have a army there. how much does it cost to do it without a army?
I am guessing "converting" involves killing lots of people. It was that time period, afterall.
so you can convert squars to your religion?
Normally, you can't convert without an army.
There are some leaders with certain ability and controlling certain regions makes it cheaper.
Yes, you can.
I hope I can post the write-up today. Miscalculated some countries income because not all of you confirmed trade agreement with the others. So, I'm going through all these "financial records" again.
Oh.. by the way.. just to make you wait this upcoming turn.. In July 1618 first battle will be fought..
Who will fight against who will remain secret for now. ~;)
Yes, it is said in the rules.

6.Convert Region – Provence
I should have kept this part(that it's possible to convert entire region) a secret, though. :shame:
Maybe you should have kept quiet, I didn't realise until you just mentioned it :laugh4:
i hope no one attacked me....... that would be rather cruel and honestly unwise
so when is this majestic write up coming..... i cant wait.
Friggin been waiting since I sent orders in for the first time!
And it only got worse the next 6 times. When it hit 11 I was really on the edge of my seat.
we have to publicly declare war on other players in thread correct? before the turn is over so they can arrange their defenses?
Yes.
So who has declared war on who? Otherwise, I can't see anyone fighting.
I did no fighting, so wasn't me
Also, patience is a virtue  good things come to those who wait. For me at least this time is spent planning my numerous contingency plans for the upcoming round. :batman:
im just asking for future reference and because ibn mentioned that there would be the first battle.
probably some dispute over a hex claimed by two people....... so nothing serious.
Knowing my luck, it is Spain.:inquisitive:
Same,, although for me it is more like 5. (which is ridiculous, and seems to assume nothing else goes on in the world . suffice to say it will be out of date soon). as well as the names of my future generals and the composition of their armies. :laugh4: as well as the cost of the upkeep of said armies and fleets.
Plus a contingency in case a worst case scenario happened this turn. :juggle2:
I'm still trying to figure out what I did last round.
I haven't got 5 orders in advance since I am in central Europe, and when you are surrounded by Spain, France, Austria, Denmark, Switzerland and Saxony. You can't assume they will not go marching into your lands..
Yes, you have to declare war in this thread and yes to the second question too.
Sry for making you wait. I'll post the write-up now.
Will send out PM's too.
It's not as "majestic" as I wanted. Had to leave some part out of it out since I realized that could reveal too much what people had done with their kingdoms.Quote:
so when is this majestic write up coming..... i cant wait.
hey trust me itll be majestic no matter how bare bones it is
and beskar i thought we weere tight, maybe you wouldnt worry about me if you answered my pm's.....
:bounce:
Year started just like any other year before it. The same religious problems, scandals and intrigues. However, careful observer could notice changes in Europe. Keywords to describe those months could be expansion and contraction boom.
In spite the cold weather and constant rain king James I ordered to renew the look of London and Inverness and to build large port in the Faroe Islands for Transatlantic trade. Politically they found themselves in a difficult spot. They had promised to back Saxony on their way to unify the Northern Germany but Dutch armies in the same time had conquered couple of small states there already. This most certainly will make life in that region more interesting.
While the French were quiet the Spanish were busy. They repaired many ports to bring more wealth to Felipe III. However, news from Portugal made him a bit troubled. Duke John IV Braganza had repaired one of the border forts and it seemed that he was planning to go even further. Perhaps he would try to call himself King of Portugal? Feeling threatened, Felipe III sent one of his army towards the Portuguese border.
In Italy, Savoy had got itself into trouble when their ruler Charles Emmanuel I used the name „Turkey“ to describe Ottoman Empire. Sultan Osman II responded to that with his insults. While they were sending curses and insults to each other, the Swiss, in north, were expanding fast. Promising prosperity and protection to smaller Southern German states they tripled their size in six months. They also invaded Milan in order to secure their southern border and received Spanish provinces in Provence, France.
The Swiss were not the only ones who increased their territories, though. Ottomans invaded Wallachia and within few months they had seized the whole country. Muscovy, or Tsardom of Russia, brought Ryazan under it's control and Denmark unified Norway. Even Saxony and Poland-Lithuania gained some new provinces.
While all these events were happening some people in Bohemia were plotting a revolt. In May they started it by throwing two Austrian governors out of window in Prague. Soon the whole region threw off the Habsburg yoke and gathered behind a man called Jan Tabor. He was elected to lead Bohemian army until their future ruler could lead them. Having rather large army under his command, Jan Tabor, moved south to threaten Habsburg homelands. This was a mistake, though. Austrian general Tilly had moved north to stop any Bohemian incursions and on the first days of July a battle will be fought between those two armies...
The map:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
saxony wants to discuss with the swedes what it will take to own those two hexes on the mainland. We offer anything you may want within our power.
netherlands, you push our limits, you are not even diplomatically cordial and you insist on claiming lands that belong to the saxon people.
OOC: Wow, how did Switzerland push their borders like so?
IC: Don't use threats, Saxony. It reflects poorly on yourself.
Austria, I demand an immediate reversal of your discrimination against Protestants. Bohemia will remain tolerant, and you will stop your attempts to indoctrinate us to your tactics of "conversion"
i dont make idle threats beskar.
and swiss used up all their moves to do that. Maybe it will prove wise in the long run, maybe not.
That pesky Pizza
spainards gave them those hexes....... crap
It's kinda amusing that everyone was worried about me Big bad Spain going ape**** & invading everyone, and it turns out its the titchy countries running around attacking everything in sight.
i attacked no one, i simply incorporated uh numerous peoples, it was perfectly consensual.
you are obviously trying to make about a million bajillion gold with that many ports.
24000 actually.
i dont know your fancy schmancy mathmatics we saxons learn important things like fighting
Portugal would like to inform Spain that we have no hostile intentions, we were just making sure that anyone, not specifically you, who has hostile intentions towards us will have as hard a time as possible getting their troops within our borders. Plus, here in Portugal we're all about making money, and jeopardising our trade agreement would be contrary to that goal
Good luck running this, Ibn-Khaldun. Should be fun to watch!
