These are khaan's games, khaan's games are never solvable by the brute-force approach as town. As a matter of fact, I'm pretty sure that the town faction has never won in any of his games. Furthermore, Pizza has continuously drawn attention to himself over the course of the game even when the focus was not on him. Look at his post history:

There were eight people supposed to show up for the kill on Buddhafish. All 8 people sent in orders. Pizza then comes out and says that he was the odd man out. No explanation for why or anything.

I'm not going to pretend that I know everything that's going on in this game, not even close. But I have a hunch. And it's a pretty strong one. I think Pizza's been taunting us this entire game. And I think he's the "bees" killer.

Players who sent confirmations for the Buddhafish vig last night: everyone but you two, Buddhafish, and Jarema. Jarema was not in on the kill.

I am indeed a third party role, and I win a major victory by surviving. I can do a group action on the same night as I use the roleblock. It evidently works through illusion.

A minor victory is to block the same target several times and have him survive to the end.

The sour note is that the Minor VC process causes the target to become a random 50%-chance-to-kill SK. I think I survived that attack because Pizza randomly attacked me, and failed the check.

Note: there were three with me in that writeup. One of them was GH, who protected me solo on a lark because his role is handicapped with a very low action success rate. It's why he asked for medicinal expertise in-thread. The second was Ishmael. Double A was late by 18 minutes, but Ishmael claims his confirmation PM was within the deadline according to his time. Pizza has twice claimed that he could not participate in an action, and it began the night he was fully "Marked".

There was no indication of it earlier, but I think the process might actually mess dudes up. My understanding was that the night the process was completed would not involve a roleblock, and that the random SKing would not interfere with other actions...

I had privately revealed these things to Ishmael, Visorslash, and Pizza prior to this.

Well, I did my part and kept silent on that matter.

But I was and still am severely annoyed by it. I kept my mouth shut as to what was really happening for the sake of being fair.

I don't see why I couldn't just go KILL MONTY and start screeching "release me" like the alien in Independence Day.

I threw it across my shoulders, the maw of the slain beast resting upon my head. I grabbed my knife. The hunt, the glorious hunt was renewed! I was suddenly aware of how silent it was. The swarm, my guide, had vanished. It was no trouble. They had shown me the path, shown me how to overcome my fear. I took off at a sprint down the nearest hallway, reveling in the exuberance of fearlessness. I turned a corner and ran straight into Riedquat, who was limping along. We tumbled to the ground in a heap. Riedquat immediately began to scramble away from me. Was this… fear? I must show him to overcome it! As the swarm did for me! I scrambled to my feet as well, and lunged at him, bringing my knife to bear. It slashed his forearm as I tumbled into him again.

How bizarre. He didn’t seem to come to the revelation! Instead, he kept screaming like he was in pain! It hadn’t been enough, clearly. I brought my knife into his gut and twisted it. Still he screamed! I brought it down into his chest. His neck. I gashed his face. Finally. Silence. His face was quite still, beautifully decorated with crimson. He finally understood the absence of fear. I picked myself up. My bear pelt had fallen off during the scrum. Well, at least it hadn’t gotten blood on it. I threw it around my shoulders once more and stalked off to see if I couldn’t find anyone else to teach the glory of fearlessness…

I do know this: If left unchecked, I may/may not kill some/all of you eventually. For I am the sort-of-serial-killer that has a town win condition still, who can't pick who he kills, so I have no way of advancing my win condition except by vote. And I happen to be an ineffective sort-of-serial killer, so I'm not even good at the thing that I can't control.

You could be hiding (1) powers have you decided not to use and (2) your true objective. There is no possible way for you to prove that you are limited to roleblocking and that you are only a survivalist who is not hostile to the town. You also claim that your roleblock alters other players' roles. The ability to change other players' roles is a scum power that 'khaan is fond of and has used before. It doesn't tend to be present on roles which are good for the town.

Fair enough - I can't prove that this isn't some unwieldy gambit to unleash my MacGuffin ability. :brood: I think the truly powerful 3rd-parties are dead or in hiding, though.

I really am a pretty weak role in terms of abilities, overall. I was last time as well. I just hope, for your sake, that all there's no scum left, or only one, beyond the Pizza case.

Guys, lets think clearly for a moment. Ignoring his claimed role for now, Montmorency has been acting townie all game - I've agreed that all his vig targets had appeared scummy (at the time, at least), and the attempted protection of Makrell also showed a desire to help the town. In regards to his role and claimed VC, I have seen nothing to date to indicate that he is lying about either. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt for now - kill off a known killer, organise only protection groups tonight, and see if we can clear some more townies (or possibly end this game, if the kills last night were all that's left. I doubt it, though.)

By my own admission? I never said any such thing. I claimed that getting one of those SKs to survive would be a minor VC, a substitute for my own survival. Even if I wanted to mess about, how could I? It took me 3 days for Pizza, and there are just not three nights left in the game. At any rate, it would be visible in the writeup.

How about this: if I survive the lynch, I will only engage in protection work. I simply don't use that power. And get this - any other big power you can think of, from killing to converting to whatever - would be visible in the writeup. If I do anything untoward, it will be exceedingly obvious.

For perhaps the first time so far, I actually felt fear permeate the crowd. There was almost an air of desperation. It seemed no amount of manly authority was going to just perk this up. We ended up at a three way crossroads- three different parties all at each other’s throats, certain of the other’s treachery. Something… felt wrong about it, but I couldn’t dispute the continued carnage every time we tried to find a new exit. After an interminable length of time, the last member of the retinue, Visorslash, made the crucial choice. He threw in his lot against Montmorency, who looked puzzled at decision. Still, he allowed himself to be walked up to me. The few remaining guards forced him to his knees, his head bent over. I readied my sword high, again trying to impose a feeling of authority to my executions.

“Montmorency, I hereby-“

“Bahahahahahaha!” Montmorency bellowed an unnaturally deep laugh.

My eyes widened at the sheer insubordination. He… dared to interrupt me? I waited for him to finish his amusement. I decided to not acknowledge his defiance.

“Montmorency, I hereby-“

“Sentence me to death?” He asked, looking up, grinning like a madman. “How fascinating. Do tell. How will you do it? Just a boring decapitation?”

“I-what… why you…” I stammered out. I have to admit, I was entirely unused to this.

“Come on! Do something more interesting! How about tying me down and letting the rest feast on my flesh! Or, perhaps, throwing me into a pool, filled with carnivorous fish! With blades attached to their fins! Yes, make it a spectacle!”

“I will execute you how I choose! I am in control!” I retaliated. Furious, I stepped forth and sliced his neck in two in a single blow. As his head fell to the ground, a thick black mist suddenly came spewing forth from the wound, with staggering force and volume. The entire camp went black, and screams of surprise and shock rang out. And, I could swear, a short, high pitched cackle was interspersed with them. As suddenly as everything had gone dark, the mist was gone. Everyone was looking around in confusion, trying to figure out what was going on. Was… was that it? Had it been Montmorency all along? I had to go along with it, even if I wasn’t sure.

“Well done, my loyal followers! We have surely vanquished the evil that has plagued us! Now, to glory! To freedom! An exit must soon be at hand!”

I wouldn't rely overmuch on the lynch writeup to give you clues.

There's a hangup - Town has evicted the lamb in favor of the lion. Can a lion learn to eat grass? :no: :shame:

As for my own death, well, add it to the Island martyrdom and the With Great Sacrifice something-or-other. It is not for acclaim or gratitude or even tolerance for which I do the things. The fact of service does suffice.

Let's make this a trend. Let's make this a tradition. (I'm a one-trick pony...)

I have no indication I am free from Monty's influence, just as a heads up.

It's not conclusive that I'm still a threat but there, it's honest reporting of the facts.

I'll know for sure in the morning and so will the rest of you.

I don't know why I keep forgetting to check the Gameroom for stuff, but until I do, I should probably be replaced and stop joining, if it isn't any trouble.

First part of this post makes you scum. Second part makes you town again. Auto and I did what we could to avoid TinCow being killed. Vigging you was a mistake - Looks like vigging Capt B was probably a mistake too. That's bad luck - we should have hit something scummy by the odds.

If they weren't targeted in the night that just ended, the town should certainly focus some attention on them. Prior to the most recent night, I could see reasons for the mafia avoiding them as targets. I don't see any such reason for this most recent night though.
