This is the OOC Thread for Warriors of La Tene. This thread is designed to be a simple chatroom for WoLT players. No important information will ever be posted in here. This thread does not count as a "public thread" for the purposes of the WoLT rules. . In short, this thread has no official relationship to WoLT in any capacity. It is simply a chatroom.
The SOT talks about the "Basileus" and the "Chancellor", and in the Treasurer thread you write "Arjo's" - it should be "Arjos'". (The last one being a sign of armageddon, it is not something to take lightly!)Quote:

Might I suggest that we also decide the reasons behind the starting positions of each of the characters, and move them if needs be. For example, TCV's character could have taken a force to Versontio in order to secure their alliegence, and that has just been achieved.
Up to a maximum of 9 then, still seems excessive as with 9 players the Verrix will only be outvoted if everybody else votes against him (3 for Vollorix, 7 other players = 10) and FLs always get 10 influence pretty quickly. How did it work in WoTB?Quote:

Well, seeing as my character's the Verrix and he lead the Confederate army, it would make a whole lot more sense if he came to claim soldiers from you than the other way around. Then again, it could also be that I just went there to inform the Sequani Vollorix of a confederate meeting, or to talk to him about the weather - or I can just choose to start somewhere else.
Just checked the save, the FL influence won't be a problem with Aneirin but I think the issue still stands that a full influence Verrix will be almost impossible to outvote.
I agree we should give ourselves 5000 as we had to move the game on to get the RGBs.
I don't see why we can't accept that, though, having some extremely charismatic god-king ruling the confederacy. It's not like we can't avoid it, and have to elect charismatic people with the IG FL thing. We could set someone who can't/doesn't want to become Verrix as heir and then just elect someone else.
isn't the SOT-thread the same as TCV's new char-Tread? please tell me about the little(?) differences!
The only difference I see is you're supposed to use the new one to say about the history and placement of your character, which I always do in my SOT's anyway, so not much difference really

I divided people into Sequani/Arverni mostly based on the players, rather than the characters. For one thing keeping the tribes as closely matched as possible makes for a more even and interesting game. If I'd have gone by the traits, it'd have been like 1 Sequani vs... well, almost all others would be Arverni, and say Shylence, who has a Caturige, would be tribe-less.

Can we have inter tribes as well? Like, I'd kinda like to be the leader of my own little tribe (probably none or nonefornow other players) within the land of the Sequani, but don't want the responsibility (or combat with CDF ;D) of the whole area.
And continuing that thought, can we have our own little forts with a couple or more units to represent our own little tribes? But they all come together to form the bigger armies?
I guess we need a separate sequani thread.
You'll have to explain a little better what exactly you're proposing here, and how this would actually work. Keep in mind that we went from three to two tribes because we are too few to get adequate competition with only 3 members.Quote:

So your proposition is that you can build a fort and call it a "subtribe"... with "subtribe" meaning only "I am in command of a fort", in practical terms? Is that really it? If so, I see no problem with it.
I am not enthusiastic about the name "subtribe" here, though. "Town", "village" or something along those lines seem to be more apt.

Well, the thought was when we made the rules that the Verrix would have the place of Vollorix in his own tribe, since the Verrix would be chosen from amongst the Vollorixes. This we (me, CP and CDf) agreed would work when we thought we would have 3 tribes. Since we won't, maybe this should be changed, though I don't know how. Should the Verrix stand outside all tribes, and be... "tribeless"? Should he being Verrix be completely irrelevant in the tribal assembly, even if this means that the same man who leads the Confederation is a messenger boy in his own tribe?Quote:

I think we should keep the Verrix as the Volorix of his tribe for now. Although it could be possible for the Verrix to name a Temporary volorix for governing the tribes lands while he is away leading the Army of the confederation.

I have started up the thread for our (Arverni) tribe to hold our gatherings (sessions) in. Hopefully I haven't made too many errors, but if you see any, point them out here, not in that thread.
If the Sequani can finish up electing their Vollorix (if not, I'll step in and appoint CDf, since he's favoured by most who has posted their opinion - in fact, everyone but himself :laugh4:), they can create their own thread like it... and then I think we can begin. :yes:

I think someone of you should stand in for CDf now. He had lost his internet connection (all electricity, in fact) due to a heavy storm and only just got it back when I spoke to him last. That was a week ago.
Also, I won't be able to do anything in-game for a while due to Norman security suit :daisy: up my gaming computer. I'll have CP do the Verrix in-game things for me if it still isn't fixed when we get to that point. Maybe I shouldn't even joke about this as a GM, but with this speed I shouldn't think we need worry too much about that. :shame:
If it does, though, Belenos can (if he wish to) expect to command the Confederate Army while I'm indisposed.

Well... it's strange. Even though it consistently froze every time I started it up (and trust me, I tried more than 10, perhaps even more than 20 times ^^), but today it worked fine.
I have no idea what's up. I didn't change anything in between.
Okay, now it's happening again, with the same consistency. This definitely seems weird to me. :shrug:
Does it happen even when you uninstall and then reinstall the game?
The game? Mate, it's my computer, not the game. However, I've found that if I set the date on the computer to the 5th, it works fine. I'm positive it's the Norman security suit that's to blame for this. I don't know how to uninstall that though; I tried before I found out about the resetting date workaround, but it froze before the uninstall could finish, and now it's gone from both add/remove programs, and revo uninstaller.
I don't find any start menu or in-program option to do that either.

I hate those security things, they never do any good, and you get viruses anyway.

Please remember to abide by Org rules and try to avoid swearing back here. I know I view these threads less often than some mods do in other forums, and I'm also a bit more lax in my policy on language, but it's still my job to enforce the rules when I see violations. To be clear, strong curse words (in any language) need to be avoided, period. MILD curse words are acceptable in the Throne Room in the context of roleplaying, but please avoid using even those words in OOC conversation simply because it runs the risk of creating unintended OOC friction. I know this may seem a bit ridiculous, since you're all friends and whatnot, but the Org has rules and as a moderator it's my job to enforce them.

Balancing your activities in here and in real life can be hard indeed.
It was hard to do it by myself but I had some dedicated players who managed to keep the game going even when I was not around. Without them WotB would've ended much sooner!
