Facial Hair

I have decided that a man's face is meant to have facial hair. A male face without it is unnatural, perverse, and possibly Satanic. I have been laid up on account of a broken ankle for the last 4 1/2 months, and have not really been trimming my beard. For about the last month it has been down to my solar plexus and pretty unkept. Since I will be walking (hopefully) by mid-Feb to early March and will be looking for a new job, I decided to shave the old bugger down into a tight and trim goatee. I was horrified by what I saw staring back at me in the mirror! I could hardly believe it was even me. In fact, it looked like the top half of my face with a miniature interloper clinging to the bottom. Just when I had almost forgotten about my recessed chin!

I have pledged "Never again!". As soon as I land a new job, I am letting some real facial hair move in and I am not shaving it for the world. Men without facial hair aren't. Period.

Amen my brother. I've had a full beard since I was 15 :thumbsup:

I like to have a little stubble, it makes me look sexy. But I can't go without shaving for longer than a week, after that it gets too long and it starts to bug me.

I agree OP, I feel naked when I shave. I let it grow until the manager makes me shave it off.

Nah I disqualify as I adopted an old shetland-pony a while ago. Cannot charge any lines with it (lol at vikings), it's smaller than a plow and it needs a low-protein diet or it's feet will go bad. Which is very rare for a non-warmblooded horse. I can comb and pet it though

I have the opposite problem. My beard is thick and enthusiastic, and needs daily shaving to be kept at bay. For a while I did the goatee thing.

These days I stay clean-shaven. Face it, 99% of women prefer the smooth face.

I don't trust men with beards.

In my experience the more experienced women generally prefer facial hair.

I had an inch long beard I guess, but I had to shave it for a thing. I looked like I did before I had a beard. So surprising.

I don't like shaving because stubble is almost painful. Beard also hides some acne, so I guess that's a plus.

In my (limited) experience it is the looser women who generally do not have a problem with beards.

Like my ex-girlfriend.

No seriously, it depends on how I feel. When I met my ex-girlfriend I had a goatee, but I shaved it off about a month later and nothing changed, haw haw.

Hmmm..I keep my head between bald and very short, but have beard most of the time and i have a job. Confusing this life is.

That could only be because 99% of men don't have my beard.

With good grooming any problems with beards are mitigated. If I keep my beard short it's not even scratchy.

For myself, I shave every 2 or 3 days. I don't like it but I have a girlfriend and a job.

I still have my short mustache & goatee. Clean-shaven, I look like I'm 12.

Funnily enough I have a few things to say about this:

1. 4.5 months for a broken ankle??????? Man up and get some crutches, 2-3 weeks at most, pathetic :P

2. Shaving is the work of the devil, but, beards are, well, just not right so the only solution is designer stubble hence the istubble, google it as I can't be arsed linking it.

So, in conclusion, a man's face is supposed to have hair on it, but, it's only supposed to have enough that you don't have to shave with a razor and you don't get that itchy feeling when you're beard grows in. Case closed, the prosecution rests.

Well since I've put on a fair bit of size through the gym and am apparently the double of Forest Griffin, I am growing a horrific scraggly beard around my face and shaving my head right down. Just need to keep piling on the size and get some tattoos to complete the look...

lol, I do have crutches and started going to school only 2 weeks after my surgery. What I mean by laid up is that I have been spending most of my time sitting at home, and only leave the house for school, therapy, or doctor's appointments. And if you new the extent of my injuries, I believe you would think that quite brave.
As far as designer stubble, what are you, a 13 year old girl? Seriously, if you care so much and put all that work into maintaining you perfectly groomed artwork, then something is wrong. Crap, one of the upsides of having a beard is that you save time because you don't have to shave! Now stop being a wuss, and go out and grow a real beard! ~;)

Ah, you've taken that the wrong way, by no means am I a George Michael clone, by designer stubble I mean anything between 1-6 day's growth, after that it looks like you've got nits.

All that being said I'm curious to know where you live that has 13 year old girls with designer stubble, and, if this has a bearing on your other thread :inquisitive:

No. Most women wear make-up. Only a minority of men wear beards, and I think it's a sketchy thing to do.

I can easily grow a beard but the main problem is that my facial hair is not the one colour, so generally it looks terrible when I grow a beard.

lol, funny you should say that, because I have that same problem. My beard is usually pure black, but sometimes big parts of my mustache and beard are blond underneath the top layer of hair, so when I trim it I get big blond spots. It is funny, because I also have very dark red highlights all throughout my otherwise brunette hair. :P I just look at it this way: it gives me character. ~;)
