Hope you liked it! I was Mori; it was a single player campaign battle, which lasted a really, really long time.

    WOW,

I have had a smaller scale battle against one of the monk ronin provinces. I was waiting for spring to attack since winter against monks is just mass suicide. I attacked with Usegai Archer/YS/No-Dachi (540 oddd in total) Against 4 units of Warrior monks a YS Taisho and aunit of Archers to my surprise Takeda Calvary (400) and Imagawa Archers (400) joined in on the attack.

Charged the enemy Taisho on the right side of the battlefield with Takeda Calvary leading the way only to have the Imagawa Archers ambushed by monks in the middle hills. Takeda lead the counter charge, got ambushed by another set of monks and then ran off the field. Imagawa got slaughtered and their Taisho killed.

Leaving my No-Daishi to finish off the monks... which they did as they were fully equipped with legendary equipment.

This was one of those times you had to be glad the timer was turned off! It would have been lousy to have such a great battle cut short.

During the weekend I attempted a Mori 1550 campaign on expert. I finished the map in 1568 or so.

By the time I finished Oda, the entire North-eastern Japan was still divided by Hojo, Uesugi, and Takeda with even powers. Takeda invaded my Mino, and tasted a total defeat. But at the same time Uesugi and Hojo also turned against me. 1 vs. 3.

Several seasons later, I took Shinano. The allied AI forces attemped two big joint assaults. I had to face 3 well-equiped armies, outnumbering me 3 to 1 on the field. The first one was a total victory (2700 kill vs. 240 loss), but the second one was much harder as the AI was predominantly archers - cavalry archers. I drove them away by the ratio of (1600 kill vs. 600 kill).

I wish I had the snapshots. It was really a challenge

Great battle,so who won the province? I see you were hanging back with a portion of your forces till the end so I'm betting it was you.

    hehe
actually, it was Imagawa. Takeda and I (Mori) invaded with less-than one banner each; Imagawa showed up with nearly two.

in some follow-up news, I was able to keep both alliances and win the game since it was on Hold 40 of the 60 Provinces. to challenge myself, i've been loyal to all alliances until the other side cancels them.

I concur... that battle seems too good to be true! I wish mine were a variation on "two armies smash each other then one runs off before i spot them"... except for my "special forces" battles, but i usually lose them.

Last night, my Mori campaign was going the way as I wanted ... Busy quenching tides and tides of monk revolts while Uesugi and Oda were beating the crap out of Takeda and Hojo ...

Then I was able to attack Oda's weak spots and a couple of years later, I was attacked at Omi by the former Oda force who just recently turned ronin.

The ronin force totaled 2800 while mine was 900.

In the end, I collected about 970 heads, lost about 20 men. A unit of honor 4, silver plated muskets alone (59 soldiers) made 300+ kill.

It is one of those times when you want to look at the log files over and over and never got enough of it

wow. i've never had my musket kills nearly as high as my archers; it's gotten to where i don't bother with muskets at all. most kills i ever got with guns was maybe around 30, while my bowmen get up to 200 before running out of arrows.

Probably has something to do with that I was playing with timer off at that time. Checked log file, the fight was technically around 45 minutes long even though I used fast motion freqently.

Also the first 3 waves were very cavalry heavy. Most of them managed to charge half of the way up hill before being shot at point blank.

The muskets only used less than 2/3 their ammo though.

what are these log files you speak of.??

it seems that in MI and WE it is easier to get
higher kill to loss ratios..... here are some i just ummm happen to have written down.
all are with ND's no less

    457:74
those are kill to loss for me of course

check for logfile readers in the download/files section of this site. it's a great tool, especially in the ever-shifty multiplayer.

Very cool battle Soly! It's really exciting when something like that happens. So you've never had very high musket kills? I don't usually but in Barocca's JDD campaign, I had about 48 muskets at my center on a hill, and the Mongols kept trying to take the position. At the end of the battle I looked at the heads taken and saw that those guys had taked over 300 heads, and a good many of those MLC & MHC!

The problem I have with musket kills is that the computer-controlled enemy will rout too quickly when under my musket fire whenever he tries to run uphill at my masses of 3-row muskets, with the effect that my poor gunners don't have much time to kill all of those silly sods. So, I usually end up having to run them down with cavalry.

    Hi, oZoNeLaYeR:

I am not soly but I think for the subtitles, he edited the pictures using image softwares such as Photoshop or MS-Image-Composer.

How could you do that soly?
I mean usually l reach to a time that Oda is blocking me from passing to the other side and l have to attack him mate.
The are so many things that could be added in the patch like passing army threw allied terrain. That would be amazing.
