Its the same story. When the sequel comes out everybody screams that the prequel was so mutch better. I remember the first months of posting when Medieval was out, and the comparisson to STW.

Guilty as charged!
Whilst for other people it might be that they judge the patch-needy RTW against the fully-patched* and supplemented version of MTW, for me it is merely that I can't play RTW at all. I'm sure I'll love it when I can![]()
*Sure, some people say it still needs a patch, but I think it's as close as it's ever going to get now!
Maybe not bribing every army you see would improve the challenge a little?!?
I'm sure any patch will address most of the problems in the game, until then i refuse to make a final judgement. All pieces of software have problems when released, not mentioning any names *cough* microsoft *cough* it would never be impossible to release a perfect program due to the diverse nature of computing.

Denuone Latine Loquebar?
I just actualized my thought on Numidia last night, so now you can see my story in the "RTW guide" forum under Numidia.![]()
I always adore the patience and courage of those people, who handicap themselves purposely to make a game more challenging. For example, they would purposely lose a series of battles to have just one city left. Or they refuse bribing in RTW - this kind of thing.
Somehow I am very reluctant to these approaches. After some self reflection I think I just want to "try my best to win for whatever I am given". So I never take the timer off, or use whatever mod. I also never hesitate to exploit anything that comes as features even bugs - because this is what I am given.
There are endless possibilities to make the game harder, and probabaly I could never stop trying to handicap myself more and more. If I go on this route, the conquest will be non-ending. I could go forever and lost my own place - am I really as good as I think or what, or I just think I am a hero in the virtual world I create. If I don't modify anything at least I can still locate myself. It might be more fun to have this game if I do it, but then I can never stop having fun which is not good
