    Default The Caucasian-Roman-Brigand-Turncoat

    Campaign Game: Armenia
    Current Time: Winter 269 BC

    I just began yet another Armenian campaign. As is traditional I instantly built roads in my cities and then raced with the Parthians for Phraaspa (that always happens although, this time I actually won). I got to Phraaspa before they did, and suddenly noticed that there was a small force of brigands in a Caucasian mountain pass, just north of Kotais. It consisted of 2 Eastern Inf units, full size.

    I thought there would be no probs so I sent my Kotais army up there to deal with them. They fled. I went in again, slaughtering them menacingly. And what happened was this: After the battle (which was auto-resolved by the way) I got two messages fall from the sky. The first one said; Trait Granted, Good Commander (or something like that).

    The second one said; New Ancilliary- Roman Turncoat. I'm like "WTF?" and I look back it the map, which shows that Italy is miles and miles away and the campaign has just started.

    Has this happened to anybody else?

    (I would post a screenshot but I can't get IMAGESHACK to load)

    Hello: I've probably experienced a similar thing in my current Armenia campaign. Long before I invaded Italia or met the Brutii on Balkan, I had a Roman turncoat in Aramu's retinue list. I felt a little strange at that time but didn't really bother

    I've tried looking at the export_descr_ancillaries.txt file but everything seems to be in order. Not sure what's causing the bug.

    Anyway here's the trigger:

    Trigger trigger_roman_turncoat
    WhenToTest PostBattle
    Condition WonBattle
    and PercentageEnemyKilled >= 40
    and GeneralFoughtCulture roman
    and IsGeneral
    AcquireAncillary roman_turncoat chance 8

    The trigger for easterners is of a similar format:

    Trigger trigger_easterner_turncoat
    WhenToTest PostBattle
    Condition WonBattle
    and PercentageEnemyKilled >= 40
    and GeneralFoughtCulture eastern
    and IsGeneral
    AcquireAncillary easterner_turncoat chance 8

    I think its becuase the rebel might have been from the italian 'culture group'.

    So for instance, fight the Carthagians and get a Nubian turncoat. I beli8eve theres a second group of turncoats that covers the entire culture group, in my campaign i have an Easterner turncoat. So bonus against parthians, pontus, armenia.

    i do have some mods installed, the Cherry Vanilla MOD, which is excellent. Squalor isnt game dictating with it.

    @ghostcamel: I might have thought that, but I did notice the hand with the eye in the middle on the rebel flag. They had two eastern inf units; it can't have been roman.
