To remove the fog of war, first type:

" ~ " on the left of Number 1 on the top left of a standard keyboard

Then "toggle_fow". I havne't used it for a while so I don't quite remember whether you need the underline or not. You can find such info. on any cheat list.

What I do not know is how to remove a fort that's not in your reach, but I am sure there are capable players in this very forum that knows how. If you can provide your save game file then maybe they can mod it for you.

There might be other reasons. I used to get CTD when my direct X was broken by unknown reasons. The game CTD as I call up anything that contains an animated clip such as Senate, the Wonder, etc.. After reinstalling direct X (from Windows page) problems were solved.

Welcome back to 208 B.C. Hope you can fix it, but the chance of corruptions increases with complexity later in the game. Late turn saves are bad about producing corruptions. Frequent saves, but only at the beginning of each turn are the answer. It's a rule I learned the hardway in earlier TW games. I found I could either spit curses at the CTD's or conform As much as it goes against my nature I conformed.

Well isn't that a ripe piece of filthy news? So this is what I have to look forward to later on in my campaign? A string of disastrous save games?
How the hell am I supposed to conquer the globe with everyone working against me?
Cooperate people! Things will go smoother for you when you are under my command!

So when can we expect the latest patch to correct this abomination?

No, if you use beginning of turn saves you are unlikely to have this happen again. RTW has been more stable than MTW in this regard. MTW could and did crash my machine at times on the strategic map, RTW doesn't. I doubt you will see a patch that would resolve it, since it has been this way for several TW releases. At worst if you get an occasional corruption, going back a year is not too horrible. Going back several years or over a decade? Now that bites. Try what I suggest and I doubt you will see this sort of corruption in the future (if at all.) What is most likely to cause corruptions is waiting 10 turns or so to do a save after playing for several hours, and doing it late in the turn rather than the beginning.

I had the same problem with the game crashing when the end turn button was clicked.

It happened to me about three times, in a row at the same point. The game was creating the 'Autosave' and I ws reloading that. It contunued to happen so I did a quick save and it worked fine and I have had no other problems. I have heard that the quicksave doesn't work correctly but its the only thing I did differently which made the game work, So I don't know

In my game i'm playing as the Julli, Bruti and Senate are dead Also I do not have any unmanned forts. J

Just thought i'd put my 2p's worth in
May the Foss be with you....

It's good to hear of work arounds like this. I'm sure it will help others. Interesting that a quicksave would fix a corruption at least in some instances, nice trick.
