Alot of people have a problem with a crash to desktop as soon as the load bar completes and the campign map should appear. It seems to happen with the Nvidea GeForce cards. With these cards rolling back your video driver usally fixes the problem. I rolled mine back to a version 60.85 driver and that worked. However I would try the patch first and maybe reinstalling the game. The driver should be a last resort because it might cause other programs to go funky. If that isn't your problem then I have just wasted a bunch of space. Good luck.
