So based on OK's OOC in the Diet how do we handle the reports that are official and those that are not?

Well, huh, was the "Game Master's Message" to Ansehelm public IC knowledge or not? We don't have a report for the year yet, so I'm curious.

I'm also going with the assumption that we don't know where Peter is IC, though we can certainly find him when we load the save OOC. Correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it's pretty realistic if Austrians spot him outside of Vienna

That's true. It would be kind of hard to conceal the passage of a large army.

And that's why I used it.

It's not as if a massive army could walk through Arnold's Dukedom and go unnoticed.

Plus 2 Austrian regiments then go and disappear from out under one of my governors nose. He then reports it to me...

...it's all fairly believable to me.

There might be some funky stuff clear in the savegame that people should not comment on IC because they would not know about - e.g. the location of Tancred.

Where they are quite likely to be aware, I will communicate with the relevant player(s) as a gamesmaster and ideally they should get back to me about what action, if any, they wish to take on the basis of this. For example, I told Ansehelm that one of his Household army's was AWOL as surely the Duke would be informed of that. The message was posted publicly as it would probably leak out. I also told Becker that two of his regiments in Prague had disappeared. That was more idiosyncratic info, so I PMd it. He has got back to me, wanting to conduct his own investigation into the army that passed by around the time he lost his men. I am going to reply to him saying what his spy has found out.

So in this specific case, so far, we have a missing Prussian army and a mysterious large German army moving south through Austria. No one knows yet for sure that they are one and the same, although Becker's investigations will no doubt uncover something.

I'll just stop looking at the save unless I have a battle. Ignorance is bliss.

Hell I'm sitting in Shanghai and I don't even have the game and I can find out

It's going to be pretty hard to not look when I'm actually in front of my PC

It's not just that the Prussian Army is right outside Vienna, they're sitting on the road as well. You can see the little carts passing through Peter's feet. I can understand econ's wanting to keep it quite, but the army's not taking a very circumpsect route.

While I'm quite enjoying to Matt's transformation from circumspect Chancellor to anti-Unification fire brand, I just want reinforce the fact that it's IC.

So no hard feelings. . .

Interesting how this catastrophe event is having the unintended effect of making battle lines in the Diet. If we survive this phase and the current generation lives till they're all 70, I'd be surprised if we don't see a civil war.

making battle lines? A lot of these lines have been there for years. Jacking the tension up is just bringing some of them out more.

    But OOC it's all

Maybe I am reading the Diet all wrong, but right now it looks like just me and Kev against the lot of you. I know a civil war would not be exactly fair, since we would still kick your asses, but just saying...

OK, report for 1302 is up. The next one will be no sooner than 48 hours, but hopefully not much later either.

What people fail to realize is that King Jan has buried nuclear missiles in silos out in Outremer. Any civil war starts and the Reich is going to be glowing in the dark.

Yeah, the faction lines are definitely interesting if you study them. There are the two "obvious" loyalists (or lapdogs as people seem to prefer calling them ). The "anti-Kaiser's" are themselves pretty split on exactly how far to push and what to do. Then there are the fence-sitters who are waiting to see which side wins out. And there are those on both sides who have definitely picked a side but are working behind the scenes. And, last but not least, there are those who are simply apathetic to what is going on and could care less.

It's basically our ace-in-the-hole. We're outnumbered in the Diet so I have installed 2 dozen intercontinental ballistic missles in the desert somewhere. The lakes of Germany will be full of three-eyed fish like in the Simpsons.

now if I can only remember the launch codes...

Does the IAEA know of it?

It looks like things are going into motion. More battles would be great though.

All right, offensive battles for 1304:

    Duke Hans (Factionheir):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Brother, hunt down the rebel scum in front of you. If you could get your adopted son knighted, that would be a bonus.

    Count Hummel (Ignoramus):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
We have danced around Paris with the French for long enough. Take SHA1 and smash all armies nearby. You are not to touch Count Scherer's militia army or any other force except SHA1. Scherer's militia must be left free to dash to the aid of Caen. Your primary objective is to clear a way to Caen that Scherer's men can take.

    Count Becker (CecilXIX):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
You stand at the gates of Budapest. You have cannon. What are you waiting for?!

Duke Arnold (Overknight proxing for AussieGiant):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
A Polish army from Krakow has had the audacity to confront AHA2. Show them the error of their ways.

    Count Fritz von Kastilien (Tamur):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
The desertion of the Prussian Household Army has left a gaping hole in our eastern border. We cannot afford to have your Saxon Household army tied up outside Hamburg. You must smash the Danish army that is pinning you there, so that you are free next turn to defend Stettin or anywhere else in Franconia that the Poles are spilling into.

    King Jan von Hamburg (Privateerkev):

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Yet more Turks are approaching Edessa. They do not seem to have learnt their lesson. Destroy the one confronting you. After that, you have a choice. Either retire to cover Adana - you do have the Army of Outremer North, afterall - or push on east to challenge the other Turkish armies approaching. Army of Outremer South will take whatever option you choose not to.

People have 24 hours to fight the above battles. To avoid hold ups, don't claim the save unless you can fight the battle immediately. Here's the save:

I actually think it's more likely that the catastrophe will re-unite the Reich behind a common purpose. Of course, I could be underestimating just how much we hate each other.

    Doh!!!!

Well, if I can't remember the launch codes, then at least you won't know them either.

But on a more serious note, I am at school right now and will be all evening. I will be able to fight the battle tonight when I get home. 9pm US CT.

We'll briefly unite, and then resume the endless bickering over whose fault it was.

IMHO, it will really take a lot to get the Diet back together. You guys had better have something really good planned.

We're on page 21 of the Diet, but it is getting so intense, I really can't bring myself to close it at the moment. Although, at the rate we are going, perhaps we will need it for a collective time out.
