The flurry of PMs I've been sending and receiving make me a little reluctant to end 1310 now. But I think we have done everything we can in the save and there are some battles we need to get out of the way in 1312, so I think I will post the report on 1310. We are now officially in 1312.

I have no major 'events' planned for the 1320-1340 period, because doing so would require me to know exactly what was going to happen. Since it's impossible to predict what choices 15+ people are going to make, I am going to be creating the events on the fly instead.

I'll help you out.

First, Jan is going to take his army and go this way.

Then, Jan is going to take his army and go that way.

Somewhere in between, Jan is going to fight some people and then release them all.

During all of this, Jan will spend hours writing legislation that he will just pull at the last minute.

If he lives through it all, Jan will celebrate by drinking copious amounts of beer with whoever else is still alive.

There, now please plan an event around that.

Sort of reminds me of that scene in Shaun of the Dead, where Shaun imagines all the different scenarios in which he could kill his zombie stepdad Phil and rescue his mum.

I made an entry for Jan's retinue but I'd prefer to wait before I make one for Jan himself. Though if GH insists that there be one, I'll make a small generic one and flesh it out later.

Well, if you can fight the battle, there is a large French army next to you that you could attack. However, your army is pretty beat up from all the autoresolving it has been doing and I would not recommend the battle unless you can fight it manually. Don't call the save for longer than 2 hours as there is a queue.

Elberhard was pretty explicit about that contingency:

Once it falls, the Kaiser instructs you to occupy the city - not exterminate or sack it. We are to gift our Eastern Roman brothers a fine, healthy city - not a traumatised husk. Failure to comply with this instruction may lead to severe consequences. For example, you would probably be walking, not sailing, home. And Household Army Otto would be reduced to minimum legal size.

If he had his way, the borders would be lined with fortresses manned by Bavarian armies. Bavaria would be concerned only about itself while the rest of the Reich continued to fall apart. Batten down the hatches, boys! There are rough seas ahead!

Of course, I'm sure some of this is due to my OOC knowledge, but I'm conceding some RP irregularities simply due to the difficulty of being a Player and a DM simultaneously.

You do bring up a good point on regionalism in this game. I am fascinated with how the cataclysm is going to influence it.

When I was your age I had to walk to school in a blizzard with no shoes for 80 miles uphill both ways... ^_^
