I just started a campaign as KH and Eepiros are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpowered with their legions of pikemen it's not historically accurate and should be changed

Still, that is not the 'balance' prob by my opinion - I play with Epeiros and I tough that too for Romans.. At start you have -6000 minai with Epeiros.. so..
The point is in EB scritp that adds money to CPU and leaves you with your brain - fair enough? Still, it si somewhat unrear to me.. This is mybe the only thing it makes EB hard to play

Epeiros NOT having pikes? I guess all those bronze pikebuts found at Dodona, all those texts mentioning Pyrrhos having pikemen, both Epeirotes and Makedonian mercs, even training Tarantinoi to fight "in the makedonian manner" is to be dismissed, ey?

If I may offer some suggestion, seeing that Epeirote lineup isn't going to change, is to try to counter pike phallanxes as it was done historically. Isolate, have some sphendonetai fire at them from the sides and charge them, NOT where they pikes are pointing.

That seems to work most of the time.

Epeiros overpowered?!?! They have the weakest of all Successor armies. When you have problems with Epeiros you should well stay away from Makedonia, AS or Ptolemaia.

Epeiros aren't overpowered at all, i'm playing through a campaign right now and i frequently lose 60% of all my forces when fighting a battle against an enemy who has an army equal in strength or close to it as mine. Their units are pretty much on par with all of their neighbours.

I did get a victory against the Romans today when the odds were 2-1 against me but i'll just put that down to AI stupidity, even though they actually made some smart moves and almost had me defeated at one point.

It was a Phyrric victory.

And if you meant their lack or heavy cavalry... well, with all respect to Hetairoi and Kataphraktoi, it's Lonchophoroi hippeis that are the best Successor cavalry, cause they have great AOR, cost less and require MIC level 4, not 5.
not to mention their stamina and speed.

I'm that surprised, cause I've recently mentioned someplace else Your opinion (that I do share) that 2 units of levy phalanx are preferable to one unit of qualified phalanx.

They are missing the medium phalanx class (Pezhetairoi or Klerouchoi Phalangitai) that will form the backbone of the other Successor armies (Makedonia, AS and Ptolemaia) in the later game as well as units like the Pheraspides or Hypaspistai. In return they have the Illyrian units in their line up, who are not really needed, and the elephants, who are way to expensive to be fielded in decisve numbers.

So, in the start their army will not differ much from the other Successor armies, but in the process of the campaign, as soon as the others have developed their economy enough to field advanced phalanxes, Epeiros will have a severe handicap, because she can either stick to levy phalanx or go for elite units by reducing the size of the army.

Cavalry the arm in which Epeiros is as strong as, for example, Macedonia. They have the Molosson Agema and all the other classes of heavy and medium cavalry like Prodomoi, Lonchophoroi Hippeis and Hetairoi Aspidophoroi.

Well, they should have pezis, hypas and pheraspidae, AFAIK, their recruitment is going to be fixed in 1.1. And Epeiros has something Makedonia isnt able to field: Thorakitai.

You have got to be fresh meat to this forum to state this, These EB's put in alot of work, so please be more subtle. It helps if you list your historical references as to why you feel justified in making the comment, the EB's like this. You do have such a list don't you?

Also what setting are you playing on? Also one feels that your lack of tactical knowledge is to blame, what are you doing, only facing pikes head on?
Personally I think they are a bunch of pussy cats(I have only played up to hard battle).
