He is more of a "strict constructionist". Also, I'd like to point out that his stance in the Diet is purely IC. OOC, I never mind when Econ fills in as Chancellor with his avatar.Originally Posted by FactionHeir

Cecil seems to have run off with the save, so in the interim, I have compiled a list of battles fought under this Chancellorship so far:
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showp...&postcount=312
I am missing details for Counter Karolinger's battle against Cpt Draganos and for Ludwig's defence of Bruges (deguerra's links to his screenshots don't seem to show up).
I have based the list on the battle reports, so let me know if there are omissions.
You're also missing my assault on Milan, but I do not have the battle report up for that. I doubt I'll be able to write one up given my current time constraints, but I will at least post the screenshots this evening.
The attack on the siege army was actually launched by Peter, if that makes a difference in the notation.
Of course OOC econ was the obvious choice to take over as Chancellor, it's IC that it smells fishy.Mostly Fritz just wanted to **** on Elberhard's parade I suspect.

Holy #$@#$$!
God, Kaisers have a shorter life expectancy than a member of a Penal Battalion!
My regrets, econ21, he was a damn fine character, well fleshed out with great secondary characters.
Italy is turning into even more of charnel pit.
Uh, so who's running the show?

I tihnk Peter runs the show now.
I know who the new Prince is, can I say?
Dieter von Kassel. Son of the only man in the Pillory. I have no idea how we'll justify that IC.

Yes, a von Kassel is Prinz, my generations long secret plan has come to fruition. Muhahahahahahah![/dumb]
Well Elberhard and von Kassel did crusade together, and had a long time on the boat to hash things out.
I am still flabbergasted.

Your screenies show up fine for me deguerra. Solid report, good read.![]()

This also kills all the princess plans people had. As far as I know, Eue is not of age yet. So, his daughters will become noblewomen like Siegfried's daughters.

Would have been more sensical if all the screens had been made as I wanted, but I mustve got carried away fighting :D. Thanks anyway though.
I suppose since any sense of election of Emperors and Princes is shot to the depths of hell by the shoddy game mechanics (I'm looking at you, CA :D), the fairly close relationship between Eberhardt and von Kassel is as good an IC justification as any. I suppose we'll have to settle for a chinese-style system, where the Emperor "chooses" his heir.

Yep, no more princesses.
ah yes of course...another one of those "game mechanics" :D (looking at you, again, CA :D) It really is a shame you can't roleplay all princesses. In fact, I'd have to say the rather shoddy family management system is still one of the major drawbacks to medieval for me. I feel with a little bit of more work, it could have been really fun and really added to the game, but as it is its usually more frustrating than useful (when not PBMing of course!)
edit: are we sure on the princess thing? I swear I had a game as norway where I had shitloads of princesses because I got those of deceased faction leaders as well

If the princess is "of age" when the Kaiser dies, she is still a princess. Lothar can attest to that. But if she is not "of age", she'll just become a noble woman.Originally Posted by deguerra

yehyeh, I meant coming of age after her father had died...must just be remembering it wrong then. Oh well, we'll have to wait for new princesses. Get on it, Peter! :D

I think he's too old. He'd have to get married, have a daughter, and then stay alive till she turns 16.Originally Posted by deguerra

Peter can't create any new princesses. He has no daughters. Even if he spawns one immediately, he is too old and will die before they come of age.
So, who's the new Duke of Franconia?

Is von Kassel married? I have a wedding gift for him, of an odd sort. So odd I don't even think I could write a story about it, it'd be best as just a total OOC thing.
edit: Dieter is Duke now. Decided long ago. Fritz has come to terms with it.

Nope, neither the Kaiser nor the Prinz are married. One other factor to make this more interesting is that Mini Econ (Dieter von Kassel) doesn't post on the forums. I'm sure econ21 will figure out how to deal with that, but for the moment he's something of a mute battlefield genius.
Actually an unmarried faction heir can be very useful. When Matt was Chancellor I managed to marry off Elberhard and Siegfried. Both marriages shored up alliances that, in my opinion, were close to breaking.
We should shop around, maybe see if the English are interested in another marriage alliance. It'll be expensive though.

I had forgotten von Kassel is mini-econ. That rather rules out the 'gift' thing to get more princesses.

Having a look around my old copy of the save I notice Margarita the Dense, a no charm Russian lass, is available and not quite 40 yet. Anyone leaping at the chance?

LOL. sounds like she would make a fine empress.

Hm, I wonder who econ will take to replace Elberhard.

Another Zirn will be coming of age shortly if he wants to continue down the chivalry route and doesn't mind waiting for a couple turns. Of course, there's also the Steffen twins, both of whom will be of age by the next Diet.
