    Default CTD while modding

Since Konny's minimod for the Romans hasn't been updated for v1.1 (or so I believe), and because I think the chances of getting elected to an office should be a bit higher, I tried increasing the chances of my "family members" receiving political positions.

All I did was increase the chances of each trait/position in export_descr_character_traits, and I get a CTD every time I try to start or load a campaign after I alter the file. Do I have to do more modding wise in order to increase the chances of getting elected to each political office, or is something else wrong?

(I've checked the small section of the file I altered to see if I've made any typos or anything many times, but it looks fine to me.)

If you used notepad, don't. Try using something else such as Notepad++.

    Oh, thanks!

Now, since I've already made the changes before downloading Notepad++, will I have to reinstall EB so that everything is back to normal, then make my changes again in Notepad++? Or do I have to just open the file with Notepad++ and save it again?

    Question Re: CTD while modding

Just replace those files with backups... You did make backups, right?

If this is file formatting issue then just change file format to ANSI in notepad++ and save the file. If its already ANSI then i have no idea what have happened.

But since the solution has just been provided (one post above yours) then there's no real problem anymore, is there?

No, I went ahead and re-installed EB anyway after I made my last post. Everything works fine now with my modifications.

    Thanks for the help.
