I think you just have to have your predictions in before the start of the game you're predicting don't you?

Anyway, here are my predictions for Sunday:

Match Day 2 (8th June):

Croatia 3 - 0 Austria

Germany 0 - 1 Poland

There seems to be a lot of talk about the Croatians as dark horses, I can't see them doing anything other than dominating the Austrians (who let's face it, would be unlikely even to be there if they weren't hosting the thing) unless the Austrians get a major boost from the home crowd.

As for Germany Poland, out of loyalty to my Polish friend (who has been irrepressibly gloomy ever since he heard Poland would be in Germany's group again) I must go against my better judgement and predict that the Poles will pull the first upset of the tournament.

Also, looks like the Czech Republic have their excuse prepared for the event of an unsuccessful campaign: link

I'm not sure I'll be able to get on my pc the until monday, here are my guesses for the first 8 matches.

Match Day 1.
Switzerland v Czech Republic 0-2
Portugal v Turkey 1-2
As I posted earlier.

Match day 2.
Austria v Croatia 0-3
Germany v Poland 4-2

Match Day 3.
Romania v France 2-3
Netherlands v Italy 0-1

Match Day 4.
Spain v Russia 2-1
Greece v Sweden 0-2

Match Day 2:

Croatia 2 - 0 Austria

Germany 1 - 0 Poland

Croatia will struggle without their highest goalscorer, Eduardo. And Germany, well they looked less than impressive against Serbia, they'll win, marginally through some Gomez-Klose brilliance.

Before the actual kick-off of the game you're predicting.

Match Day 1.
Final prediction: Switzerland 1 - 1 Czech Republic
*Portugal 1-0 Turkey Sure Bet*

Who dare wins. Anyway a loss in day 1 is not much of a consequnce, the real points are gonna be won in the later rounds of the tournament. At least I'll be either among the top or last after this rather risky prediction.

To atheotes: I stated in the rules that editing posts with your final predictions on it is strictly not allowed. Please don't do this again. As for the Italy match if you wish to change your score then do it as soon as you can. This rule is quite arguable but I think it's best to keep it that way.

So we're not allowed to edit at all? Not just not allowed after kick-off? I tend to edit a lot to fix spelling etc. so gonna be losing a lot of points if that's the rule

Well, if you're changing a bet, it'd be best to put it in a new post so problems don't arise, with our host having one prediction and you claiming another. But I don't see a problem with fixing some errors in a post before the matches have kicked off.

Better put in my Sunday match predictions now since I'll be AFK for the weekend.

Oops... my bad for not reading the rules properly I am sorry Quintus... i will not edit my prediction posts again... i will remove the "i might edit" message from the prediction for match day 3 so as not to confuse or mislead anyone else that editing is allowed prior to kick off.

I think you may want to re-iterate that very strongly if you wish to go with it. About half of the prediction posts have been edited at present. These are all likely out of habit with spelling & wording changes, as mine was with the CZE-SUI/TUR-POR games.

Sorry about the rule, but my wish is that all posts may be edit apart from the ones that contain your final prediction on it. I could edit this post over and over again, but not the one that have my match day prediction on it... Better to leave talking and final predictions apart.

Sorry if this has caused any inconvenience.

Alright, I thought I'd wait until a bit closer to kick-off to post my predictions for saturday in case C. Ronaldo broke his leg or something like that, but here they are.

Switzerland-Czech Rep 0-2-Even without Rosicky the Czechs have performed well in qualifying, and I don't expect them to have a problem here.

Portugal-Turkey 2-1-Portugal have more quality than the Turks, but Nihat has been prolific for Villareal this season, and I think he's good for a goal.

Croatia 2-0 Austria Sure bet Austria are only there by default. They are not good enough to do anything.
Germany 1-1 Poland Wow, Scurvy, I cannot wait either! Rivalry, German strike force vs the mighty Boruc. I think Poland will do well overall.

I just realised I have edited one of my earlier prediction posts, so just to confirm my predictions for Sunday's games:

Croatia 3 - 0 Austria

Germany 0 - 1 Poland

I'll try and remember not to edit this post again (sorry Quintus!)

Czech Republic aren't looking too good

Switzerland - Czech Republic match is already under way. And I doubt I can be precise about Portugal - Turkey match. So, I'll be joining in by 2nd matchday.

By the way, if Servet and Gökhan are knocked senseless and de-moralized (they are not very agile guys), we may be fed a weird score today such as 4-2 and such.

Gotta hope for a more interesting game tonight after that tawdry performance.

Czech Republic netted me 10 points somehow, but they didn't look at all convincing. Occasional nice passing movements but looked lethargic and flimsy at the back, not sure I fancy them to go much further. Switzerland somehow failed to score, shame about Frei.

So easily could of been 1 - 1.

The Leaderboard had been updated. atheotes is leading with his sure bet paid off. Some netted 30 points while most has 10. The dareing ones got nothing and are at the bottom.

Actually you could join in today. The Swiss match won't count but you can have the Turkish match. I'll take your prediction will be 4 - 2 to Portugal, you won't lose point for getting it wrong at this stage.
