Yeah, setting aside that you might not be able to play older games, that's a pretty beefy rig. And for that price, you could do a lot worse.![]()

The price is actually pretty good. I have been searching around to see what the same machine costs from other retailers.
It seems the average price including goods tax is 11 000 NoK ($1892, €1320), but that does not include office 2007 or the insurance. Our price offer is 9577 NoK ($1647, €1148) without tax benefit.
Some guys here pay 46% tax and with the tax benefit (deduct the money before calculating tax) they would nearly get it for half price.
Sadly I am using all the loopholes in our tax system and only pay 18% tax. My price would be 7853 NoK ($1352, €942) ...
I don't know what to do. We just bought a desktop a few months ago. And wifey is against it.

Well, the two things I find fault with it is the Vista OS and the Blu-Ray disc drive.
Aside from that, its a very good computer, but is the money worth spending there (or not depending on tax) I also wouldn't want the "wifey" against it too.
all imo of course.

If you are going to do anything relatewd to networking I reccomend Vista. If you're going to be gaming, I reccomend Vista. I'd consider maybe losing half a gig of RAM and going for 32-nbit, instead, as there are still a couple of compatability issues.
