56 year old death bug ftw. Did anyone else think that added even more strategy to the game?

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
CA has yet to make an announcement either way. They've hinted a couple times that -- because of SecuROM's immense unpopularity -- they're working on an alternate scheme for copy protection. There are thus far no details on it, however.
Not for me, no. The bug was a little too easy to "game" IMO, much like how some players will deliberately prepare for the Golden Horde's arrival in in 1231 by stationing strong garrisons either in or near Khazar/Georgia/Armenia. I much prefer a little more uncertainty.![]()

All that I wish is for ETW to provide tactical and strategic depth. Lately I have been hooked to warcraft 3 and it is really a great game. It has the mass market appeal, moreover its brilliant balance provide a tactical and strategic depth that is unparalleled by any other game I played.
The whole argument that mass market appeal contradict with complex gameplay fails. Look at Starcraft, it is like a national sport in Korea now, still being played at pro level after 10 years of release, with new strategies and innovation still possible.
I really miss TW MP, and I really hope they get this one right... Just don't dumb down the game mechanics and provide good balance...

it would be great if they dropped the SecuRom, i am happy to buy the game and have it run with the cd or whatever as it saddens me greatly that i would have to abandon the Total War series because of an ineffective and invasive attempt at DRM.
i don`t go near pirated games myself, even if SucuRom normally gets cracked a day or two after a game using it gets released.![]()
