Romanic seems to have wanted to subtract from Civic, not Religious. No matter, I'll even it out:

The world belongs to those who wake up early.
would someone mind explaining to me what the point of lowering / raising the military/civic/religious etc. It isn't really explained anywhere, so I am really surprised how you guys know what to do :p
Also to the people who will vote for me, I am deeply honoured. Now outrightly saying that I would be a corrupt Consul doesn't sit well with that many people, So I will say this: if you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours![]()

I don't know what to do, I'm just adding and removing points randomly until we get better explanations.
I think something great happens when a side reaches 0. Let's find out what it is! Would you mind helping Diamondeye by lowering Religious by 1 point?
Edit: Duh another x-post with DE, at the same time.

That number behind military/civic/etc shows the power of that faction. By lowering other factions power you increase yours.
There were other games like this.. I'll try to search them out for you.
Edit: If factions power reaches 0 then those factions will be removed from the game.

No I see it now. I clearly see how you guys decide to all bandwagon my faction by going against religion:O Romanic I am so deeply disappointed. Look how DE is feeding his own populists while taking away their religion.. the foundation of their existence.

I thought it would be a kind of compromise to lower your faction's power in return for notopenlyworking against your candidacy for the Consulate. but no! Unvote; Vote:Diamondeye. I genuinely believe him to be the best candidate and the candidate who knows best how to accomodate to my needs("power! Unlimited POWER!")!
Also; Romanic is also a Populist; Why would he not help me?![]()

Look God Emperor, I'm sure this is a misunderstanding. My colleague Diamondeye didn't mean to lower the religion, which is an important part of our society. I blame it on bureaucracy, things get mixed up all the time, you know how it is.
Let all have a beer and discuss this like civilized people.
Actually, Iarrangedheard that there's free bread and circus todayand every day henceforth.
Then it's a good idea to ask forgiveness when you step on the toes of one of the big boys. I've heard. Somewhere. Anyway, don't quote me for it.

You are asking me to bow down? Should I?, Could I? .. It is obvious that you and Romanic race for the top, trashing every house minor in your way, but we will put up a fight.
I don't know where the military faction stands in this feud, but the The Combine Honnete Ober Advancer Mercantiles (CHOAM(From the Dune universe)), will with a little luck put another vote in my factions favour. Hopefully Robbiecon will see the light as well and support the little man.

I heard a terrible story. A merchant obtained a monopoly on cows in the north, and he raised the price of milk to 10 times its normal value. The poorest people cannot afford this, therefore cannot feed their children, but the vile merchant doesn't care, he's making profits like never before.
We gotta do something about this crook!

I see how it is. Nobody cares about our citizens oppressed by this opportunistic merchant. So typical of politicians, but I must say that I didn't expect this coming from a man of the Church!!!
Commander Secura
of the Military Faction
Lords and ladies of the Senate!
While there will surely be no doubts that our glorious nation will eventually succumb to the hegemony of a single faction, it is obvious that such responsibility cannot be bestowed upon the Populists and their anarchic notions of equality among all our citizens!
These are not the soldiers who keep our lands safe, gladly offering their lives in defence of our people. Nor are they the clergy who provide the solice and faith of our Lord to those who seek it.
They are not the bureaucrats who keep the clockwork of our society well-oiled, nor are they the merchants who ensure we remain a beacon of free trade to our neighbours and fill the state's coffers with gold.
No, they are the so-called ordinary folk; the farmers, blacksmiths, servants, courtesans... these people should not be meddling in politics and I suggest we create a motion to remove this faction from the Senate entirely!
I would like to concur with previous representatives and add that it is often our faith in the Lord that helps us overcome great trials in life, and thus I am also willing to support the pious God Emperor in his bid for Consul!

and welcome lady Secura! only poetry can explain the feelings that were awakened in me, when I saw you return to the senate halls. 'Arise, fair sun, and kill the envious moon,/Who is already sick and pale with grief' - From Romeo and Juliet

Senator Diamondeye, your faction's beliefs hold equality and unity among citizens of our glorious nation above all else, and yet you talk down to fellow members of the Senate?
Your behaviour serves only to highlight the shortcomings of your ideology, and the very reasons why the Senate should move to reduce your influence.

"Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than Hell itself… that is coffee."
Shakespeare. I can't believe this.
"Milady, I have done no such thing! I was merely cut short in my speech by what was surely a buzzing insect somewhere. Isn't it the job of people of your profession to kill things? What are you waiting for, then?
"Furthermore, I would like to point out that we as senators are the voice of the public. We speak with the voice of the people, and our speech should be respected as such.
"Surely, one has seen too many wars if he cannot believe in our ideology, the good of man! I dare not think what brutal episodes that have misshapen your outlook so severely, respected collegue.
"Now, however, I have bread in the oven and circuses to arrange. I fly, but will be back if my people need me!"
Want me to get my copy of his "Julius Caesar" and rebuke this man as to classical literature?

If God is great, and if God is good, why can't he change the hearts of men?"
-Tom Waits, "The Road to Peace"
Being the voice of the people is all well and good, we are a nation of free speech after all... but the common man has no idea how to run the state.
He has no knowledge of warfare and the tactical nous required to best the opposition, no idea about the subtle economics that our merchants use to monopolise the global market in our favour and no inclinations towards the inner-working of our nation's administration.
He is, however, aware of the right amount of time required to bake the perfect loaf of bread, the precise angle to cleave calf meat from the bone while minimising waste or the exact distance from his home to the public baths.
Knowing such things is all well and good when it comes to their own lives, but such knowledge is useless in the face of running an entire nation.
"Blacker than a moonless night. Hotter and more bitter than Hell itself… that is coffee."
Lady Secura, this aggressive stance toward my faction is totally uncalled for. We haven't done anything against the military, and in fact I believe that you should be the force driving our nation.
Now I feel so betrayed by your words. I... I am speechless....
